It’s Wednesday and although our favorite show Veronica Mars is on a little break until May, I wanted to take the time to let you know that while the end of Season 3 is right around the corner, you can have your thoughts of Season 3 live on forever… on dvd!
I was lucky enough to have the priviledge of attending the Veronica Mars Bloggers Day last year and so I consider myself an uberfan. Because I’m an ubergeekfan, I was asked to record a video proclaiming my undying love for all things Veronica that could be included on the Season 3 DVD’s when they come out. I know, right?!!!!! Amazing.
There’s nothing better than me and a camera folks, let me tell you that! Now, I don’t know if my ranting and raving will make it onto the dvd’s or not, but this is a really cool opportunity. I mean, hello, everyone needs to see my face on their dvd. I tried to convince Rob Thomas to have a separate disc with just my mug on it… don’t think that went over too well.
If you’re interested in creating a video to send to Rob Thomas that might make it onto the Season 3 DVD’s to be released later this summer/early fall then keep reading!
Rob Thomas wants our questions and comments. If you want to sit with your friends and chat VM, that will do. If you want to sit and talk to the camera as if you’re talking directly to Rob and ask specific questions about Veronica Mars, that’s fine as well. They are planning a whole section on the DVD’s for fan videos and fan produced extras.
This a great tribute to the hardcore fanbase Veronica Mars has in its corner. It’s also a great opportunity for all of us to express our excitement and gratitude for creating such a great, smart, witty, and emotional show.

There are some guidelines though. You can’t be wearing a Pantera T-shirt or drinking Coke while Firefly plays in the background. Nothing copywritten, trademarked, or with a logo can be seen or heard during your video. So if that means you have to pull down your Hello Kitty poster and pack away your Star Wars action figures, so be it. They’re looking for high quality video, well produced bits, and thoughtful, articulate questions or comments.
Here are some ideas:
- How and when did you first discover “Veronica Mars?”
- What is it about Veronica Mars and her band of cohorts that excites you?
- Was there a particular moment that got you hooked on the show?
- What keeps you tuning in?
- Who is your favorite character and why? Least favorite character?
- What “Veronica Mars” related stories do you have? Anything that is related to “Veronica Mars” in your life.
-What are your favorite lines from the show?
-Can you do a character imitation?
-Have you had interaction with other fans?
-And, if you have a question you’re itchin’ to ask show creator Rob Thomas, just look right into the camera and ask. Something like: “Hey, Rob. Why is Veronica so mean in Season 3?” for example.
Mini-DV’s are best. Not Hi-Def, they don’t want HD for this project so please don’t go sending them HD tapes.
