Supernatural Set Visit

Big News Big Big News! In two days I’ll be on the set of SUPERNATURAL hanging with my boys, The Winchesters!
That’s right gang, Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, and Myself (oh yeah, and a handful of other bloggers) will be spending some time, chillin’ talking about all things evil and rollin’ in that sweet ride of theirs… fighting crime, slaying demons, raising papa from the dead… maybe even a little kissing… SHUT UP, YOU DON’T KNOW!
I’m psyched to see my Veronica Mars Blogger Day friend Rae (ramblingsofatvwhore), and to finally have a face to face with TheTVAddict.
I know that we’ll be on set during the filming of Part 2 of the Season 2 Finale “All Hell Breaks Loose.” Rumors have been floating around the internet that Papa Winchester (the amazing Jeffrey Dean Morgan) might be part of the finale so fingers crossed that I get to meet Denny as well!
I’m hoping Ellen and Jo will play a role in the finale as well. I love Alona Tal and Samantha Ferris. It’s so crazy because with a cast this size (of 2) everyone else may or may not be around because they are guest stars… always! God what I wouldn’t have given to been there when Tricia Helfer filmed her episode. Incredible.

This is outstanding news. Some of us over at GMMR have been thinking of interview questions for a while now.
Here are some of the questions we thought of way early this season:
- How did they choose the Impala - and will the history of how it became Dean’s ever become a storyline?
What was the initial casting process like? Did everyone know immediately that Jensen and Jared where perfect and had great timing together? Does their terrific chemistry make it difficult to allow full-time characters, not just guest stars?
- Do the writers and actors think that Sam or Dean could ever go it alone? They always rescue eachother, what would happen if one of them wasn’t there?
- Will we continue to see the Roadhouse Gang moving forward? How about Gordon?
(You can tell I don’t make it a habit of reading spoilers on this show, this information may already be out there)
You have no idea how jealous I am.
Thank them for putting on such a great show, especially on a network that is slowly killing itself with horrible choices and reality programming (ie Pussy Cat Dolls, and a pssible VM cancellation). It is a breath of fresh air, and humor in a bleak TV world. They never take themselves too seriously and for that we love them.

And here’s mine, because we love love love the music on the show…big Classic Rock fans down here in Mississippi. Do they have a Classic Rock song that they’d like to see in an episode…I have quite a few :).

I’m sure you’ll have a great time with the boys.
Could you ask a few questions for me?
First, Sam and Dean have their little quirks and mannerisms that are obviously theirs. How much of the characters were made up by Kripke, the writers, and the directors and how much of them was up to Jensen and Jared?
How do Jensen and Jared feel about the change in their characters this season? Do they have a different view of Sam and Dean?
Has the process of filming changed from last season to this season?

Thanks for offering to take our questions, that’s amazing.
I’d love for you to thank them for taking the time to keep such tight continuity on the show. Believe me, we notice. And it means the world to us. It’s nice to have show-runners and a cast that really cares not only for their fans but for quality as well.
I know that JP said in his most recent interview that he’d like for the guys to go out in a blaze of glory but could you let them know from us that we fans would hate that. That we’re really hoping for some kind of happy ending for both Dean and Sam. They’ve done too good a job of making us care for all of the characters, especially the guys.

Congratulations to you! I hope you have a great time, but then, how could you not??? (good luck on the kissing by the way, I’ll be pulling for ya!)
Could you ask them how long they have to whip up some tears when they have to cry in a scene, and how long do they have to calm down before the next scene is shot? Have they ever not been able to do one or the other? What happens then?
Tell them we fans are doing all we can to get more viewers and get those ratings up. And please thank them for all their hard work!

That is awesome. My question(s) would be, “How much filming and what not do you physically get involved with?” For instance we see pics of them on the net doing technical work such as filming and I believe that there was a pic of Jensen measuring the distance of something for lighting although I could be wrong as I myself don’t film television. Just after seeing the pictures I thought well that is really cool.

y0! Awesome news — I have come from LJ!ville, and am curious to see if you’d be willing to ask questions for any of us crazy folk ^^
So — the top thing most of us want to know is whether we’ll see a season three.
My questions are more specifically fandom related.
1. What do they think of their fanbase — they’ve got a fairly dedicated 18-40 female demographic which wasn’t in the original show design — and how they interact with the show?
((These I’m not really…expecting asked, but would love to know their reactions. *sigh* Maybe one day…))
2. With those same fan interactions, is there any sense of surprise that we’re seeing a huge surge of slash fan fiction occurring?
… That’s it for me I guess. I honestly would love to pin them down and ask them questions regarding fandom in general, but I have a feeling that wouldn’t work so well ^^ Thanks, and have fun!

I’m more than a wee jealous, but Spn fans have to support each other, and so I’m very enthused and excited for you, even though I don’t know you (I’m going to start reading your blog now!), and I think it’s awfully nice that you’re seeking questions from other fans.
A lot of good ones have been asked already, so I’m trying of something tasteful and not off-the-wall, but…
What they hey?
Do they know if there will be any more drunk!Sam anytime in the near future?
What kind of music are the boys actually into (did the dig those same classic rock tunes growing up)?
And, feel free to ignore this, as I’m sure the boys may wish to, but there’s a lot of curiousity out there about the dynamics of Sam and Dean’s relationship, and there’s a whole school of thought, if you will, that wonders if they have the potential to be more than just brothers. Even if you just want to ask about the chemistry between the two - do they think it’s something unique, something special, and how do they expect it to grow along with the show? Brotherly love or BROTHERLY love, Sam and Dean, regardless, are as much on a character as the Impala. Four main cast members: Sam, Dean, the Impala, Sam&Dean. Addition to my other comment: I don’t want to suggest that any sort of incest would actually happen on the show - highly doubt that nor am I aiming for that - but analyzing the characters bring up certain questions, and that appears to be a big one: do Jared and Jensen see that potential dynamic, regardless of whether it would ever be explored? Does the relationship of Sam and Dean go beyond a normal bond? I’m trying to make this sound as not weird and sleazy as possible

That’s terrific I’m very jealous. I have to disagree with one poster though, I think Jared had a great idea for Dean and Sam to go out in a blaze of glory together. I’d rather they die heroes than just imagine them fading away into the normal world. Either that or just the two of them in the Impala driving off into the sunset to continue fighting evil.
Seeing as they probably won’t be able to reveal anything about the show specifically leading up to the finale, I’d love to know if Dean and Sam’s actors Jensen and Jared have any projects in the works during their time off.

So awesome that you get to go to Vancouver. And visit the set; that’s cool, too.
I do have a question for the boys and such. Mainly, do they think that filming in Vancouver has affected the show’s story or the mood of the show any? Has the absence of the western ghost towns excluded some great plots? Or have they been changed to suit the more woodsy environment?

Well, since everyone else seems to be covering the fandom and artistic ponderings, I have a geektastic question for ya. Do they actually like horror films/horror genre? Jared was signed up for Fangoria (unfortunately, he had to cancel to continue filming) and it made me curious about whether or not he personally was actually into the genre. (I’m a zombie horror fangirl, hence the curiousity, hehe)
And (anthropology major here) I’m curious if the actors do research for the roles and episodes, or if that’s mainly the job of the writers. Basically, I’m wondering about the process of creating the storylines and the Supernatural world and such.
Finally, I like the blaze of glory idea for the boys too, so let JP know that not all of the fans are in disagreement with him. haha!
Oh, and tell ‘em thank you for the hard work and blah blah blah and all that for us. The show’s damn addictive.
I’ll be rooting for you and that kissing (sounds hot). Have fun!

I came up with a legitimate question that doesn’t involve marriage proposals:
If you get to talk to any gaffers or the DOP, ask how they decided on the show’s overall look and what goes into deciding the cinematography for any given scene.

Just give them a hello from hermit and tell them that the fans appreciate all their hard work and great episodes we get. Thank also Mr. Kripke, Mr. Manners and all the rest involved for putting out one of the best shows on tv.

Hi,dont have a question as such,just tell those guys that over here in Ireland we are loving the show and loving those two!!
I think they are both amazing actors and they certainly light up my screen everytime.
Oh you might ask them are they happy so far with the way the show has gone and where it is headed for future seasons?
And how much input are they given into what happens to the characters or are they just told?
