Starting now, I will probably not be watching television (other than here and there between sleep anxieties) or blogging until after The Independent Film Festival of Boston ends on Tuesday, May 1st.

Tonight is our opening night film FAY GRIM starring the always amazing Parker Posey and Jeff Goldblum along with James Urbaniak as they rock their way through the sequel to Hal Hartley’s 1997 film Henry Fool.

Tomorrow night is going to be out of control withe sold out World Premiere of ON BROADWAY with stars Eliza Dushku, Will Arnet, Joey McIntyre, Mike O’Malley and director Dave McLaughlin in attendance.  Seriously OOC.

There are more filmmakers, actors, producers, etc than ever in attendance at this, our 5th Anniversary.  If you live in the area, please stop in and catch some films.

Hope you have fun and hope television is amazing.  I’ll be catching up best I can.  Talk to you guys soon.

Is it wrong that I just deleted the last 3 episodes of 24 from my DVR?  We’re moving in 2 weeks and with the festival premiering tonight and running until May 1st there is just no way I’m going to have time to catch up and watch them before we move and have to get a new box anyway.

Oh, all of my OFFICE eps will die when I move.  Sad…

American IdolSo I’ve been having this discussion for weeks with my Boss about who’s who on Idol and who deserves to win.  It’s a never ending convo because we both like different people for different reasons.

She thinks Phil Stacey has an amazing voice and deserves to move on.  Where as you know I’ve been hoping for that Alien/Nasfuratu look alike to be gone for months now.  I find his singing to be way affected and if I’m being honest here, he has the lips of a burn victim… I just can’t.

We are both in agreeance that Melinda Doolittle can SANG but that the poor girl will not sell albums so there is no chance in hell she’s winning this competition.

Chris Richardson is so up and down that week to week my opinion changes while my Boss’ affection stays the same.

My Boss finds Lakisha to be the butt-ugliest thing to hit television since Fantasia and unfortch that seems to taint her view of the powerful singer.

Blake is my baby, you know I love him so but I also know he’s limited.  She doesn’t think he’ll win but she wouldn’t mind it.  I think the final two should be Blake Lewis and my girl Jordin Sparks.

Jordin is one that divides us completely.  I adore her and find her to be really endearing and improving each week while she absohates her vocals.  True story, last night my Boss and her Husband were rollin’ for the whole time Jordin sang because they couldn’t get over how hideous it was.  They thought for sure the Judges would slam her for being all quivers and pitchy but it was quite the opposite!

I tend to lean more towards the Judges but with caution.  It was in no way the best performance ever.  It was good but there were some shaky moments.  Not enough to ruin the song or her performance for me, but if we’re being honest there were some moments.  Doesn’t mean I don’t love her to pieces though and feel the passion she brings.  ‘

Jordin Sparks, Ladies and Gentlemen… Our American Idol 2007.

Oh, and tonight my girl Kelly Clarkson is returning to Idol… cannot wait to see her perform.  Love me some Kelly Clarkson!

Thomas Dekker

We all read about it months back but finally HEROES resident gay, Exec. Producer Bryan Fuller is speaking out about what really went down with the plan to have Zach go gay.

Claire’s best friend and only confidant Zach was supposed to be gay and the rumors began flying when word came that Zach was being written out of the show. Actor Thomas Dekker was up for the role of John Connors in The Sarah Conners Chronicles and people were worried about how playing gay could affect his chances. Absurd but that was the rumor.

Now, we have the real answer…

“There was an unfortunate miscommunication and when the script arrived that had the line in it, ‘I would take you to homecoming but you have to know that I don’t like girls that way.’ The actor [Thomas Dekker]’s, manager threatened to pull him from the show…

My blogging buddy Jennifer at TubeTalk Girl just has the chance to interview Kelly Carlson (not to be confused with my American Idol Kelly Clarkson) and it’s a good read for fans of Nip/Tuck.

American Idol was all about inspiration tonight. Inspiring you to vote which in turn gets big Corporate America to donate money to the less fortunate. It was also about inspiring a nation of young girls out there to look up to their next American Idol… Ms. Jordin Sparks!

Girl done nailed it! Incredible version of this classic.

Hollywood Babylon

Okay so I’m a bad fan (or maybe just busy) and just watched this past week’s episode of SUPERNATURAL. There are so many things about it that I just have to dive right in…

The Gilmore Girls reference and Sam’s facial expression – Priceless

Sam (on the LA weather): “It’s practically Canadian!”

Gary Cole is always great and sure is dead!

Dean: “What’s a P.A.?”
Sam: “I think they’re kinda like slaves.”

Could Dean have been more into Craft Services? Hysterical.

I loved the idea of the studio creating fake deaths and accidents on set to create a buzz while acting as a motivator for the cast.

Dean’s movie trivia/knowledge is quite extensive, who knew?

The 3 Men & a Baby reference – Loved it

Sam: “Maybe the spirits are trying to shut down the movie because it sucks?”

Did Walter remind you of Jonathan from Buffy? Just not as cute or funny.

The Die Hard line… I almost died when Dean said it: “Come out to the Coast, get together, have a few laughs…”

“You’re One Hell of a P.A.”

And I was so excited because there were all these references and visuals from my set visit! Within minutes I saw some folks from production roaming around the fake Hollywood set. The one I was most excited about was Fan Coordinator Lesley DeHaan whom Sam bumped into on set. Shout out to my girl Lesley, love her!

Supernatural Lesley

Next was the fake movie poster for the slasher flick Carnivore Carnival which I got a picture of.

Carnivore Carnival

One of the Visual FX shots we saw them creating in the second VX trailer was used in “Hollywood Babylon.” We got to see one of the main FX guys working on adding the Verizon logo to Sam’s phone. Its the phone that they wield around to see the spirits and that Verizon logo was not originally on there. They had to digitally add it to every frame of the shots. *Interesting tidbit, the fingers seen holding the phone do not belong to JPad, but rather to the actual VFX artist involved in creating the visual. How fun.

It wasn’t the best episode of Supernatural but it was great to see a different (and more fun) side to Dean while Sam had to play the straight man. I cannot wait until next week when we get the return of some Winchesters and their spouses…

Fit Club DVDI spent a good portion of my night working on festival stuff while watching VH1’s Celebrity Fit Club premiere. I know it’s way lame but there is something so wrong yet appealing about it.

This season its Men vs Women and while there are no humungo porkers there are a number of average American body types with humungo egos & ‘tudes. I think the difference in body type this season is good. We all know that the morbidly obese need to lose weight but many American’s don’t find themselves willing or wanting to lose weight when they are just 20 pounds extra.

Clothed, most of these people do not look like they need the help but when they strip them down you can really see how they need to lose some weight and tone up a ton. And no, this isn’t to fit into Hollywood weight, its to get themselves into a healthy weight for their body.

It pains me to see Maureen McCormick (Marcia Brady) on there. She is 50 and besides the fact that she gained about 20 pounds in the last 2 years she looks AMAZING! I’ve always loved Maureen McCormick and watching the show I can really see how depression really has pushed her to comfort eating. It’s sad and I cannot wait to see her knock it out of the park and lose the weight, getting back to her incredibly hot 50 year old self!

Tiffany is not alone now, she’s got a bunch of extra has-been friends with some extra pounds. I love love loved me some Tiffany back in the day! My lord were middle school dances filled with her songs! I can still do the “I Think We’re Alone Now”/Tiffany signature hand movements in front of my face while walking past an Orange Julius. “Coulda Been”? Forget about it, still gets me teary. Girl, lose that weight and get back to your smokin’ hot Playboy self of 5 years ago.

Kimberly Locke looks damn good. She’s always been a bigger girl but she can work it. Love her spirit and her drive.

Da Brat, you came in like a crazy bitch but we all know you’ll walk out a sexy ass lady as long as you keep that ‘tude in check and Harvey off your back.

There’s something called Cletus on there. I guess he’s Country’s answer to Weird Al? I can’t figure him out other than he was a fat ass then turned Manorexic (for real – he doesn’t eat) and Fit Club is about getting him to lose weight and tone up in a healthy fashion. He has a fear of food now so they’ll have to break him. It’s great to see a man with this issue in my opinion.

Warren G
looks dead on like his half brother Dr. Dre. He just needs to tone up is all.

Some big fat gay from the Tonight Show is on it. He’s pretty funny and I hope he can lose some of the weight. He seriously has the highest male voice I’ve ever heard.

Oh, and then there’s Screech. He’s an attention whore trying to be an ass in hopes that he can cause so much drama that it will get him publicity and get him back in the limelight somehow. Aint gonna happen dude. Everyone can see through you. Also love how he tried to play it off like he didn’t want to talk about the sex tape he put out. Bitch please.

I have one piece of advice for these Fit Clubbers… Do Not Piss Off Harvey!

Idol Sanjaya Top11

This just in… Sanjaya Does Letterman!

My American Idol 2007 Sanjaya Malakar will read David Letterman’s Top 10 List on Monday, April 23rd! I’m still holding out for Sanjaya to head on over to Howard Stern, it better happen.

Veronica Mars returns on May 1st with a new episode called “Un-American Graffiti” and if the video below teaches us anything its that when Logan and Veronica are at odds or not in a relationship, they have the best interactions. No matter how much sadness there is, they still love each other for who they know the other can be.

Alec Phone Rage BaldwinWhile I’m just now jumping on the 30 Rock bandwagon and hella loving it, I have to say that I’m shocked to see Jack Donaghy Alec Baldwin is a verbally abusive Father in real life.

TMZ has the audio of Alec Baldwin’s horribly ugly phone message to his ELEVEN YEAR OLD daughter. It’s an out of control rant that is borderline child abuse and it really pains me to listen to. Not that I don’t think people should be able to have Monster freakouts when warranted but to leave the message he left for his daughter is inexcusable.

If you’ve not heard it, you have to click here and listen.

Apparently all those David Mamet lines of dialogue have carried over into his day to day vernacular (thank you teacher)… at least he didn’t call his daughter a fucking fuck. Phew! She dodged a bullet.

If you’re not completely disgusted by Baldwin’s behavior and prefer to judge him on his amazing acting abilities and charming good looks, then check out the World Premiere of his new film BROOKLYN RULES at the Independent Film Festival of Boston. Brooklyn Rules is showing at the Coolidge Corner Theatre as our closing night film on Tuesday, May 1st.

See what I did? I turned a negative into a positive. I’m good like that!

IFFBostonAs many of you know, I work for the Independent Film Festival of Boston and our festival starts next Wednesday and runs through the following Tuesday (April 25-May 1, 2007).

We are the largest film festival in New England and in my opinion, the best and hardest working festival in the area as well. But, I might be biased…

My media tour continues (it’s like a big media or book tour but where I get no exposure and noone asks for autographs or even recognizes me…) as I do my best to pimp the festival and our volunteers.

A couple weeks back I did an online video promo for a local arts and entertainment website and this week I’m chatting about the 170+ volunteers that keep our festival going and how killer they are. Click here to read the article.

It’s less than 1 week until I get to siddle up next to Miss Five by Five herself, Faith from Buffy, Ms. Eliza Dushku. I cannot wait, even though I’ll have to play it cool and be all festival coordinatorly and all I will be geeking out inside. I mean, who doesn’t love some Faith?

Eliza, along with Will Arnett, Mike O’Malley, Joey McIntyre, and a Walberg will all be in attendance for the already SOLD OUT 900 seat venue holding the premiere of the film ON BROADWAY. It’s going to be an insane night and having Eliza Dushku and Will Arnett in the same room is a TV Geek dream!

If you’re in the area, there are still some seats available for the second showing of ON BROADWAY, Sunday April 29th at the Somerville Theatre. Get tickets early because that one is almost sold out as well!

It’s a sad state of affairs, I did not watch television at all last night. I caught a glimpse of Grey’s, enough to see that Shonda Rhimes has lost her frakkin’ mind by bringing this Izzie/Daughter storyline up already.

Besides the Izzie/George schtupping storyline, this is the biggest mistake of the season. Well maybe not the biggest, the Ferry three parter was probably the biggest, or maybe the afterlife episode, or the three season recap hosted from the dead by Denny, or maybe having Burke and Christina get engaged, or maybe bringing Sloane on full-time, or maybe even having this Marlow guy in the mix…

Wow, the Izzie/Daughter thing isn’t looking so bad anymore.

Supernatural Gary Cole

The first new SUPERNATURAL episode since my visit to the set is tonight and its called “Hollywood Babylon.”

I’m psyched to see the boys, see the various sets and to see if I recognize anything we saw lying around any of the sound stages while we were there. I’m hoping that something random in the props area or a left over set might trigger a memory which will make me love the show even more.

Entertainment Weekly this past week named Supernatural their Must Watch of the Week so hopefully more people will tune in and see JPad and my newest TV Boyfriend Jensen Ackles kick some ass.

The always incredible Gary Cole guest stars tonight as Brad Redding (channelling his Office Space character – you’ll see) when the boys pay a visit to a Hollywood Horror set that sounds a little on the Poltergeist set incident myth side. Them Winchester’sm even on vacation they can’t not fight the dark forces… of the Studio System!

Matthew Fox LOSTTVGuide is reporting that LOST star Matthew Fox is joining the increasingly great cast of the live action adaptation of SPEED RACER! It’s about time Matthew Fox gets his due! He’s had one hell of an Emmy year and people need to be recognizing…

Here he comes, here comes speed racer, he’s a demon on wheels! Go Go Speed, Go Go Go Go Speed, Go Go Go Go Speed, Goooooooooooooooo!

I love the idea of Charlie Salinger/Jack Shephard Matthew Fox playing the uber-villian Racer X, Speed’s nemesis and brother.

Racer X

It was announced earlier in the week that Christina Ricci just joined as Speed’s chipper girlfriend Trixie (here’s to hoping she can master that laugh!). Fox and Ricci join Emile Hirsch as Speed, John Goodman and Susan Sarandon as his parents. Speed Racer is being directed by The Wachoski Brothers (Matrix, V for Vendetta, and Bound).
