American Idol Loses Its ‘Smile’

American Idol sent another one packing last night and it wasn’t Sanjaya Malakar or Skanknato!
Okay, so I have to say that I kinda feel guilty for Gina Glocksen going home. Not completely mind you, because I did vote for her for the last three weeks. It just so happens that I also voted for Sanjaya The Magnificant every time as well.
Gina didn’t deserve to go. Period. With a talentless slutty ho like Scarnato standing next to you, you always expect her to go down… get it, she’s slutty… going “down”…
Fine…
What annoys me about Idol and these kids and this damn Tour is that people like Gina can’t be honest and when Seacrest asks her how she feels, she can’t look at the camera and say: “I think it’s crap that I’m going home when talentless twits like Scarnato and Mangina Malakar are still here!”
Alas, this is not what Idol is about. Idol needs to toughen up. Idol needs to work like Top Chef or Survivor where people are not afraid to backstab each other and tell the god’s honest truth!
It would be much more enjoyable, don’t you think?
Oh and did I call it or what with my last post? Tony Bennett is so on death’s door. Was anyone surprised when Seacrest said Tony B. came down with the flu and couldn’t perform? He’s probably laid up in a hyperbolic chamber being fed placenta through an IV to regain his strength and youthfulness. Buble was not a call away, I can tell you that. There was never any intention of Tony singing last night. Mark My Words!

So damn messed up.
I loved Gina – and I voted for her – often!
That Scarnato has got to go too.
And Phil? Can you vote on AI if you are an Alien? Because that must be his fanbase.
I am just so angry.
I understand the AI backlash and everything – and there are some valid points in the thought process. Point taken – but really – are people going along with this because H Stern said to?? That is just as bad if you ask me. Grow a brain, followers.

Coloradokila, you are so angry. I don’t think Howard Stern is behind all of this (though to be fair, he is a big part of it). I think that people are just really getting a kick out of him staying on and seeing what his hair and personality are like the following week.
There is a really sick part of me that actually wants to see him get into the Top 5 and maybe even win it.
I know that’s horrible but I would like to see the show retooled to some degree and this would def get that ball rolling.
They have to do something soon or this show will soon turn into Star Search. The product of American Idol is already losing value so next year they will have to do something to revitalize it.

See Ducky – I think your motivation is so much more pure than most peoples. You watch the show and enjoy it, and still place votes for other people with talent.
The others are not watching the show and just doing this to make a statement. An understandable statement, but what they don’t realize is that it actually just feeds the beast of big reality TV.
I just think there are other shows such as “Pussycat Dolls” that are more detrimental to the state of TV – which is what everyone seems to be claiming is their big issue with AI.
Not angry at all, I am actually way more of a “Rock Star” fan. Just perplexed.
Interesting how things that were once so popular get torn down.

Benita, with all due respect to real sluts out there, I’m calling her slutty because of her hooch outfits. If you’re wearing hotpaints on television that come to right below your cheek line, you’re not trying to win the competition with your talent, you’re trying to win the competition based on your supposed good looks and good body alone. She’s whoring herself out for votes in a way. Don’t know her so you are 100% correct, I have no basis for calling her an actual slut.
