I’m still stunned at the decision the Judges came to tonight. I’m just gonna get it out of the way so, get ready…

SHOCKING RESULT - Ricky sent home!
I seriously am in shock that Nigel, Mary and Dan Karaty sent Ricky Palomino home tonight. Sure he’s got greasy hair, a gap between his teeth, and a nervous womanizer feel to him but did he deserve to go home? NO WAY! Shocked here in the Ducky house.
Regardless of whether or not you liked Ricky’s personality or looks, he was undeniably a wonderfully skilled dancer and in no way should have been given a pink slip this soon in the competition.
Correct me if I’m wrong but I get tons and tons of google hits a day for Ricky Palomino Videos and he really seemed to have a pretty big online fanbase already. People are gonna be pissed. I wonder why they didn’t vote for him. If you loved or loathed Ricky, please let us know why in the comments section below.
So who should have gone home? I guess Dominic/D’Trix. I know, I know… WHAT? Hear me out. As Nigel himself said, he seems limited and the whole B-Boy thing might be all he’s got up those huge sleeves of his (maybe the rest of his skills are hidden under that hideous headband). Lucky for Dom, they were willing to give him another shot. You know it’s because people love them some breakers! My only complaint is that his whole solo was made up of shoulder spins and pulling faces. We get it already… But, if he promises to wear see-through shirts and/or no shirt more often I can reconsider my position.
On the other hand, Cedric Gardner tonight impressed the hell out of me. I need to go back and look, but I think he may have actually levitated across that stage at one point during his solo. It’s sick how the boy can move and I truly believe in the emotion he was talking about. The boy will wear his emotions on his sleeve, I guarantee that! I’m really excited to see more of him now!
Back to the girls for a few minutes…
Sabra, honey keep that Disco hair because the pulled back puffball look does nothing for you and in fact it kinda makes you look like you should be doing the March of the Wooden Soldier or winning a Dog Show. Otherwise, her solo was amazing. It reminded me a little of Natalie’s work last season.
I love how the more I get to see these kids dance, the more invested in each of them I become. Sabra went from being nothing to me to being one I’m gonna root for each week.
Faina’s hair was the exact opposite of Sabra, Faina was working the hell out of those curls. It gave her warmth while allowing a little bit of naughty minx to be let out. Her solo however lacked so much passion and sexiness but obviously it was enough to keep her around a little longer.
Going home was that string bean Ashlee. It’s funny that a partners went home tonight. I felt bad sending her a packin’ but really it probably was the best choice. And is it just me or did she have major old face this week? When they showed the audition clips she looked really young and vibrant but sweet jesus did she look a good 15 years older and mousier in HD.
I hate seeing people go this soon because honestly we haven’t seen anything from them dance-wise or personality-wise.
Obviously some personalities shown through though because plenty of dancers breezed through this week.
My girl Lacey Schwimmer and her partner (my possible BF) Kameron Bink were obviously a crowd favorite because when their names were called the audience went wild (or was that me screaming Mary style in my living room… who can tell?).
Jaimie and Hok were obviously safe. Peeps love them someHok and I think that Jaimie has such a big following already that it will be quite some time before she leaves us.
Anya and Danny, another slam dunk. Rewatching the clips from last night, I completely forgot that they received the first Mary Murphy Scream! Although, girls working out a cold because it was a little phlemy for my taste.
When Cat was announcing that D’Trix and Sabra were in the bottom three all I could think of when Dan Karaty was giving his opinion is, wow what a weiner this guy is. He’s just not pleasant and I really feel he’s got some anger issues to work out. Sad little man.
The clips of Sara and Jesus‘ Wade Robson routine really reinforced that along with Lacey, she’s one of my early faves. Wade is unreal! His opening number was haunting and fun and played with lighting and again, sheer genius. Why isn’t he the resident choreographer?
Jessi and Pasha were safe. Lauren and Neil were surprisingly safe and thankfully because no kidding the attraction is growing (is that attraction growing on me?)…
Quickly I wanted to say that Jimmy and Shauna were of much debate at work today. My boss Robin seriously could not get past his costume and even worse the non-matching pointy black shoes he wore last night. And when I say couldn’t get past it, I mean that she had rationalized in her head that if he had on stray shoes or something more organic it wouldn’t have ruined it for her. Seriously! Love her and her crazy.
Last season’s winner Benji Schwimmer was came out and danced his little tight ass off for us tonight. A bonus because somehow I didn’t know he was going to be doing this until about 2 hours before the show tonight. And I call myself a SYTYCD Super Fan? My card should be revoked.
Obviously someone without eyes (or with a huge grudge against him) failed to tell him that his gloves were bright red or for that matter, that he was indoors in sunny California where gloves just aren’t needed. Benji is crazy with the footwork and some of the slides he does actually defy gravity. The guy really does just blow you away when he gets out there. He’s the perfect schmoozer, the perfect entertainer, and people will kill for the kid.
There’s one more thing you need to know about Season 2 Winner Benji Schwimmer’s appearance tonight… HE FLASHED US! Granted he had some star spangled undies on but MR. SCHWIMMER IF YOU’RE NASTY!
I love that Cat asked him about working with Xtina. The video for “Candyman” is incredible and I love watching the Benji Schwimmer and Christina Aguilera Video!
Real quick before I wrap it up…
Who or what in the name of all things that are holy and Levert was that Lloyd guy tonight? I felt like El Debarge would be busting it out as an encore. I was so confused…
Overall, week 1 was incredible and full of wonderful personalities and talents we were far from at this point last season. It’s going to be hard for the next couple weeks to lose anyone. I just want to see more and more of all of them, regardless of what I feel or know about them.
Oh, one more thing… Show of hands if you think that Ashlee looked a little like Adrienne Curry? Come on, Mrs. Peter Brady aka Ms. Top Model Season 1? Totes looks like her.

I cannot believe they sent Ricky home! What were they thinking? Yeah, he is a bit odd and all, but that’s what I loved about him. He had this innocent creepiness to him that I was completely drawn to. I am just shocked and very disappointed, but whatever.
Ashley is a cute girl and a good dancer with such a sweet demeanor, and I was sad to see her go, but at the same time she was who I wanted to go.
I am having Ricky withdrawals already..

I loved Ricky.
I think he was sexy as HELL despite his nasty greasy hair. He seemed very passionate and obviously was an aaaawesome dancer–and I freaking HATE contemporary, so that’s saying a lot. He was so damn good. I was hella pissed that he left. If Hok wasn’t there, I’d stop watching.
Lacey is annoying as hell and I hope she leaves soon.
That Lloyd performance sounded like he was doing karaoke or something. I was sitting there the whole time trying to figure out what the hell was wrong with the sound and listening to my aunt exclaim about how ugly he is.

Teresa, please tell me how and why you’re annoyed by Lacey? She’s not been crazy or obnoxious or pulling faces or anything other than proving she’s more than just her brother’s sister.
Loved your hella pissed comment!

Now, I am so not the Ricky fangirl, but kumqu-what?! Why in the WORLD did the judges send him home? Yes, his atrociously greasy hair was a tad disturbing, and yes, his abnormal fondness of being gross towards anything equipped with a uterus was… off-putting, and yes, he fully and completely just freaked me out, but he was a hella-talented dancer, and I was totally looking forward to being creeped out by him all season. Boo, judges. Way boo.
I was totally unimpressed with D’Trix, and my friends and I were unanimous in thinking that he should have B-Boyed his cute butt on home. I’m just not wowed by him whatsoever, but maybe that’ll change next week. Doubtful, party of one.
I wasn’t really sad to see Ashlee go, but I think that’s just because I didn’t really get to know her at all, which is kind of a bummer. If I could have picked any girl to go home, though, it would have been her or Shauna. Cute girls, but I wasn’t astounded or anything.
And seriously? I just don’t get this whole “Hate on Lacey” thing. It’s like a disturbance in the Force- I think she’s fab. She’s fun and interesting and CONFIDENT, which I love to see in girls- yeah, modesty’s great and all, but she probably worked damn hard for the titles she received. What’s so wrong with dustin’ off your shoulder every once in awhile? And Kameron is smokin’ hot, so:
Lacey’s score: 8 bajillion.
Hater’s score: Jack crap.
And Pantless!Benji may be my Favorite. Benji. EVER.

Mel, that was a tour de force posting you just gave! Go girl.

Ha!
I’ve learned from the best, my friend. My love of this show, by the way, stems directly from your website. It’s ALL YOUR FAULT, but a fabulous fault it shall be, no?

I think Lacey is annoying because she tries way too hard to be cute and quirky and funny. And it’s unnatural and annoying. But dammit she actually can dance, I guess.
