PSYCH Recap
Season 2 – Episode 3: “Psy Vs Psy”
Recap by: Mel
In 1987, Henry is in Shawn Vice Principal’s office, who’s telling him that, yes, Shawn did have a signed permission slip to go on a field trip. They bitch back and forth, and it’s pretty boring, to be quite honest. So Shawn forged his Dad’s signature. Like everyone hasn’t done that a billion times. The VP does manage to mention Henry’s “N humps” which elicited quite an immature giggle from me.
Present day, where Gus and Shawn are called to the station where they run into Lou Diamond Phillips! Hi LDP! Call me!! His character’s name is Special Agent Lars (Hee!) Ewing, with the Federal Treasury Department. He’s super serious and sort of creepy and totally hot. On the way to Chief’s office, Shawn eyes a total hottie sitting on a bench, and tells Gus to go and save him a seat. His pick-up line to Total Hottie? “Waiting for Godot? Guffman? Waiting to exhale?” Heh. He introduces himself as the Station Psychic, and tries to impress said hottie, to no avail. In Chief’s office, everyone is introduced to Special Agent Lars Ewing, who seems to take quite a liking to Jules. Lassie obviously has a gigantic man crush on him, since he’s obviously everything Lassie aspires to in life. Agent Ewing apparently has his very own stenographer named Mildred. She’s a really cute little old lady who follows him everywhere and types everything he and anyone else he’s talking to says. I really want one of those. So does Lassie.

SUPERNATURAL Panel at Comic-Con
This post comes to you all by luck. I was having the hardest time trying to figure out how to do Battlestar Galactica and Supernatural because they overlapped on Saturday. That choice was made much easier when we were shut out of Battlestar Galactica. The gang gladly sat ourselves back down in 6CDEF for the SUPERNATURAL panel and some beauty that is Jensen Ackles. We had been told ahead of time by our Warner Bros. rep that Jared has missed his flight because they were shooting until the wee hours and as much as I hate to say it, I was gonna get a kick out of watching that be announced to the crowd of blood thirsty women in the first 10 rows.
So who was on hand if JPad was not? Producer Ben Edlund, Creator Eric Kripke, Jensen Ackles, and Writer Sera Gamble strutted on our and took their seats to a crazy loud crowd.
They started it off with some special features from the upcoming Season 2 DVD. It basically recapped my life on the set of Supernatural’s All Hell Breaks Loose Part 2 – you know without me in it or anything. This was the episode I saw them film back in April. It was great to see that the graveyard scene used in the finale was not their first choice. The first choice was a couple of real graveyards that they would shoot day for night but those fell through and that’s why they ended up using the soundstage and a buttload of manure you can see in the pictures I posted from the set visit.
So what did we find out at the Supernatural panel? Well, according to Kripke, Season 3 is Wartime and the writers are so excited. The boys have a fresh slate and everyone on the show is now presented with the same dilemma. Choose a side and prepare to fight!
More after the jump, including some mild SPOILERS.

Posted by: Ducky in Cat Deeley, Danny Tidwell, Dominic Sandoval, Ducky Does TV, FOX, Lacey Schwimmer, Mary Murphy, Mia Michaels, Neil Haskell, Sabra Johnson, So You Think You Can Dance, Spoilers, TV Boyfriends, Wade Robson

So I’ve received way too many emails from some of you asking me where the hell the So You Think You Can Dance spoilers are for this week’s Top 8 performance. I’m getting to it, y’all! I just got home yesterday from Comic-Con after what was an unbelievably fun but incredibly tiring experience and sleep is of major importance.
I hate to say it, but I haven’t even watched last weeks results show yet. Yes, I know that Kameron Bink and Jaimie Goodwin were given pink slips but apparently there was some controversy about the Wade Robson Peace dance. The contro shouldn’t be about the message, it should have been about forcing us to listen to that John Mayer song 10 times in a row. Someone should take the time to call about that instead of a peaceful dance number of hope. And Mia’s jacket? Who the hell cares. Come on folks, get serious. It’s Mia Frakkin’ Michaels wearing a shitty outfit, nothing more.
Anyhow, here are the couplings and routines for this week’s Top 8 Performance of So You Think You Can Dance.

It’s quite obvious that my favorite show for the upcoming fall season is ABC’s new quirky yet emotional dramedy PUSHING DAISIES. Saturday, Comic-Con hosted a special early morning screening and panel discussion with the cast, Lee Pace, Anna Friel, Chi McBride, Kristin Chenoweth, as well as the creator Bryan Fuller and Director Barry Sonnenfeld.
Kath from GMMR and I thought we were being real slick and arriving for the panel at 7am (started at 9:15) only to realize many people had the same idea and we were like 75th in line for all of Hall 6. Luckily most people were there for Avatar and there was a rabid pack of female fans there already for the 2:30pm Supernatural panel. Regardless, we got 2nd row center which happened to be about 15 feet from Lee Pace himself!
Saturday’s screening was my 4th time watching the pilot and I was psyched to realize that there are still so much more awesomeness to the show than I had originally noticed. With each viewing, the show gets more enticing, layered, emotional, sentimental, witty, and down right charming. And to be truthful, with each viewing I fall more in love with Ned The Pie Maker.

It’s Saturday morning at 6am and GMMR and I are getting ready to head on over to Comic-Con 2+ hours early to guarantee some heavy face time with today’s day winner… LEE PACE!
No secret about it, PUSHING DAISIES is the best fall pilot around. This morning, I’ll watch the pilot for the 4th time and then be graced with LEE PACE, ANNA FRIEL, BRYAN FULLER, and more. It’s the Pushing Daisies Pilot Preview and Panel discussion at Comic-Con 2007 and I’m freaking out!
Many of you know that a while back I declared that LEE PACE would be mine. Yesterday during the CHUCK panel a reader that I met put me to the challenge. She triple dog dared me in some ways. Girl, you don’t know me! Calling me out while I’m sweating the CHUCK gang.
Follow my PD obsession all day at twitter.com/duckyxdale and for fun, check out this great Pushing Daisies fansite called ThePieMaker.com!

CHUCK Preview: Comic-Con Day 2

Someone please kiss Josh Schwartz for me! He’s helped create one of the best new shows for the fall season. As you know very well by now, CHUCK’s Pilot blew me away and I can’t express enough to you all how much you need to watch this action thriller comedy when it premieres.
The absolutely packed hall of 1000 that came out for the CHUCK Pilot and Panel honestly could have been paid to geek out, give a standing ovation, and butter the cast and crew as they/we did! NBC couldn’t have asked for a better reception.
As soon as the pilot finished (and yes, it was still amazing after the 3rd viewing) and Zachary Levi and Co. walked out the place erupted! Levi started jumping up and down with a smile that went from ear to ear. Everyone from the show was genuinely surprised by the reception they received. You could just see the excitement in their faces, this pilot struck a chord! If this is any indication of how America will view it, NBC’s got a must see show on their hands.
Exec. Producer McG was there, and seriously could he be looking more Manorexic? Man used to be a chub, now he’s totes looking like a stud! Crazy.
Zachary Levi is hands down the new geek crush of guys and girls around the globe. Not only is he adorable, he’s got incredible comedic timing, a wonderful sense of humor and there’s just something so average joe about him and that makes you not only relate to his character of Chuck but also makes you feel that much more invested in his story. Chuck could be any one of our slacker geek friends working the Nerd Herd over at Buy More!

MOONLIGHT Preview: Comic-Con Day 2

As fast as I wasn’t excited for MOONLIGHT on CBS, I was when they fired half the cast and decided to do a major reshoot of the pilot. Added were Jason Dohring and Shannyn Sossamon and Exec. Producer David Greenwalt, a winning combo! The vampire private investigator that sounded like a rehash all the sudden had bite.
How sad was I when yesterday we find out that David Greenwalt had to drop out of the show for medical reasons? I couldn’t wait to see how Joel Silver handled this information at the Moonlight panel and seeing Jason Dohring again wasn’t bad either.
The panel began with an extended Interview with a Vampire (you’ve seen parts of it on CBS already I’m sure). This lasted a good 5 minutes and had clips thrown in to accompany some of the answers that lead vamp Mick St. John talks about. This clip had the entire place sold instantly. It’s such a funny and witty promo piece that really gives you great insight into the character of Mick. I also like to think that it says a lot for the show as a whole.
He’s sassy, witty, dangerous, cocky as hell and seriously damn good looking. Actor Alex O’Laughlin is one fine piece of Aussie ass! He’s a doppleganger for Patrick Dempsey but with fangs instead of a scalpel. The show looks dark, romantic, action packed, hip, and incredibly cool. It’s about time we had a new vamp fix. Angel’s been gone way too long! Can I get an AMEN?
A quick break down of the characters:

Seriously how cool is it that I am in San Diego at Comic-Con and I just got to be in the same room as two superstars (no, I’m not talking about that talentless skank Jessica Alba or the dimbulb Dane Cook that I saw yesterday in the exhibit hall at the Lionsgate booth but…) the writing and producing superstars Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse from LOST.

photo: Seat42fLOST Season 4 doesn’t premiere until February 2008 but the crew has already been cracking away at our newest island (plus pre and post island) adventures. Season 4 begins shooting in just a mere 4 weeks! Episode one has been written but sadly, according to Damon there is no title yet (and he swears that’s not brushing us off). Sorry fans, no Challah yet.
So the panel began at 5pm. I went into the con hall at 3pm after picking up my badge and goodies and met up with Daniel from TheTVAddict.com and his friend Lauren. GMMR was stuck in San Fran because someone rear ended her as she was returning her rental car and she missed her flight (WHAT? I’d have Sylar’d that person). Rae and her friend Just Jody from Canada were still stuck in traffic from LA so what the hell? Are Daniel and I the only ones here to cover this of our little blogger circle? Nope, Seat42f is in Row 5 dead front and center. You go with your bad self Seat, he got here at 1pm to get that amazing post.
Damon and Carlton walked out to a jampacked room of 4,500 and were greeted like rockstars, cause they are! Damon who I’ve always found to be uber-nerd cute was wearing a tight t-shirt and jacket, when the jacket came off the cat-calls began and I promise you they were not from me!
The panel began with a video which I’m assuming consisted of cast and crew interviews for the Season 3 DVD’s being released December 11th. The main portion of the video was learning that of The Others, Isabel and Mikhail are both dead! What? No more wire hangers? I’m hoping they’re talking about the assumption that in the battle most of the Others perished. There was a hysterical moment of silence for not only the fallen Others we knew, but the ones in the background that said one word all season (like what’s his face from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia). Big laughs!
After Damon and Carlton came out, we saw the LOST Video Game preview. It looks fun, the effects are great and it looks as if you get to be a person on the island. Not Jack or Locke or Sawyer (though they were all there), it appeared to me as if your mission is to survive the island and get home. A little different from the show’s mission but still a great thing to wet the appetitie of hungry fans already salivating at the thought of waiting until Feb.
Then it was time for the hot seat! Fan Questions!
If you ever listen to the Lost Podcast, Damon and Carlton can talk and talk and sometimes give away too much information. With spoilers under somewhat tight wraps, they each brought a bell with them to ring if someone started saying too much, indicating that the other needed to SHUT IT! The bells were mostly used for comic effect. I’ll give you the Ducky version of the questions and answers that intrigued me or made me laugh.
The some-what juicy stuff after the jump…
