Yo lunchbox, you better not mess it up! Silent Bob does a Cylon! Dude… Now, you know I love me some BATTLESTAR GALACTICA and I for the most part I really like me some Kevin Smith but I don’t know that the two should ever meet. Chasing Six instead of Amy? Not really the best mix.
According to AOL’s TV Tattler, Kevin Smith will seriously be directing one of the BSG Season 4 episodes.
I know that I’m going to go up and direct an episode of ‘Battlestar Galactica,’ which I’m kind of stoked about. It’s cool, but it is scary because it is like, “What the f—? I can’t bring anything to that show.” That show is genius and they have a very distinctive visual style. But you are safe as a kitten. If you go in there and say, “I’m going to shoot everything in one big master shot,” they’ll go, “No you’re not, because that is not what we do on ‘Battlestar Galactica.’” I guess it is more about performance-oriented stuff, but at the same time that cast is top notch. How do you f—– direct Mary McDonnell?
Good news and bad news. The good news is that BSG is getting media attention and this will possibly bring viewers into the fold that may have never wanted to see it before. Fine. I’m also pleased to see that they won’t just let Kevin come in and mess with the format of style of the show.
The bad news is that this is our final season of Battlestar Galactica and the show doesn’t need stunts. This is not a first season show, or a pilot (like Reaper), this is an established show with a big following heading into the final stretch. There should be no filler, no time to waste, and no stunts. The show just needs to push toward the finale and keeping BSG as the show we love.
I just think its unnecessary at this point in the shows history. What do you guys think? Good or bad?

I really SUPER really hope they know what they’re doing- I love me some K.Smith, but he’d better not screw it up. BSG is pretty much sacred, and I hope TPTB snagged K.Smith because he has something really fantastic to add to the show, not just a stunt directing job.
I guess I’m torn.
