I know I’ve been a little absent on the premiere front this week but I’ve had a really rough couple days and to be honest, aside from The Hills I’ve not wanted to watch much. While I was pretty sick this evening, lying on my couch I was able to get current on MAD MEN and finally finished THE CLOSER. I’m trying to get the memory on my DVR down as much as I can before the chaos of next week kicks in.

While next week is when it gets crazy busy with new and returning premiere’s, this week has it’s share as well. Tomorrow is the first big night for me as a returning fave catwalks back into my heart and a new girl who loves to gossip wins over my heart.

Ducky’s Must Watch Premieres – Wednesday September 19th:

America’s Next Top Model Cast Picture: Cycle 9
8pm (The CW) – AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL Cycle 9
Tyra and a new crop of Popsicle Sticks will work it and be fierce for the first time. Ms. J will be there, Twiggy returns, and hopefully so does that lovely bare chest of Nigel’s! Fingers crossed that the move from LA to NYC (it’s original home, thank you very much) puts some much needed zest back into the show. And here’s to hoping that Mr. Jay is sporting something other than that hideous Silver Hair.

Gossip Girl Cast Photo
9pm (The CW) – GOSSIP GIRL
Gossip Girl is a show that I didn’t want to watch. Not because I thought it would suck, but because I knew that if I watched even one frame of the Pilot episode I would be madly, deeply, insanely hooked. I’m happy to say that I didn’t hold out and I’ve seen the Pilot a couple times, much to my super surprised delight! Gossip Girl is full of super hot boys and girls who neither look nor act like they’re in high school – and that’s exactly what I wanted out of this show. They are bitcy, boozing, bedding, bourgeoisies and they’ve won my adoration already.

Josh Schwartz has created a world that I pray only exists for an elite few. The over stuffed vapidity that you’re expecting is semi-present but at it’s core, Blake Lively really brings a multi-dimensional and realistic portrayal to the show and that’s what people will click with. Sure we love a catty spat between ex-BFF’s but my investment is in watching Serena come home, learn from her mistakes, and grow into something much better than the socialite she once aspired to be. The Humphrey’s also breathe life into this hyper-reality of NYC over-priviledge. They’re the poor family, the alternative family, the un-Hilton’s and you want them to strive to be better than the rest. Aside from Serena, this is the family to invest in. It also doesn’t hurt that I already have a mad geek-boy crush on Penn Badgley who plays the lovable Seth Cohen-esque Dan Humprey.

Also premiering tonight but probably not one’s I’ll watch:

8pm – KID NATION (CBS): Nothing says democracy like child labor!
8pm – BACK TO YOU (Fox): To be honest, I’m not middle aged.
9pm – KITCHEN NIGHTMARES (Fox): This one has potential but if I watch it now that means I’ll have to continue watching it and once the season really kicks in, I don’t have room for it.

MAD MEN’s Don Draper - Renewed For Second Season

Well G-Willickers this is swell news. AMC’s uber stylie and gosh-darn amazing MAD MEN has been renewed for a second season! Not only does this mean more corsets, bobby pins, knickers, and pomade than you can shake a stick at, it means we’ll be going even deeper into Don Draper’s mysterious backstory. That’s aces if you’re asking me!

According to E!’s Watch With Kristin:

Just heard from reliable sources that AMC’s Mad Men will be coming back for a second season. Hurrah!

I can tell you that as of Sunday night, not even the cast knew of the show’s fate (I ran into a couple of castmembers at the HBO soiree), but they said they’ve loved being a part of the series and were crossing their fingers it would return. Ditto for us fans!

BIG BROTHER 8 proved one thing, good does not always beat EVEL… DICK that is. Evel Dick Donato has won Big Brother 8 and to be honest, I am shocked.

Dick Donato Winner of Big Brother 8

Daniele has proven that she was in this game to win it. She was the new Janelle. She won almost every competition you put her into. She tied Jani for the most wins in a single season. She was hard to beat and so many Jury members acknowledged that so I’m dumbfounded to see them vote for Dick.

Don’t get me wrong, Dick worked some magic and some hatred and some strategy never before seen but I still feel that when it boils down to it, Dani was the one winning it all and putting a great number of the plans into motion. I’m surprised, that’s all.

Regardless, BIG BROTHER 8 stood its ground and proved that it’s not just a guilty summer pleasure. What would we have done without Amber’s crying, or Amber’s stupidity, or Amber’s lying drug addicted past? Jessica proved to be another player that surprised me to no end. When she entered the house she came off as a spoiled ditsy cheerleader with no brains and by week 6 she had come out swinging. I ended up loving her before the season was over. Jameka took many a hit on the chin but girl kept it real and worked it out for much longer than any of us expected. Jen, how can we forget the resident Jenius? To be fair, the girl made for some brilliant TV, you have to give her that.

Alas, Big Brother’s end signifies the final nail in the coffin that is summer. We move on to Fall programming and with Top Model premiering tomorrow night, I say AMEN!

Psych USA
PSYCH Recap
Season 2 – Episode 9: “Bounty Hunters”
Recap by: Mel

We open once again in 1987, but this time it’s different, as we’re treated to the slo-mo feathered hair of Herclues’ Kevin Sorbo, looking all hot and bounty hunter-like, yanking a hardened criminal into the police station. Mini-Shawn and Mini-Gus are eating ice cream and waiting for Henry, and are both incredibly awed by Hercules’ Kevin Sorbo, especially when he winks (hotly) at them. Siiigh. Henry apologizes to the kids for being late, but Mini-Shawn doesn’t care, as he had more time to worship “that Super Cop.” Henry gets a wee bit bitchy, and tells Shawn that K.Sorb isn’t a cop, he’s a bounty hunter. “What’s that, a cop with a cooler name?” is what Mini-Shawn replies, so Henry tries to make it perfectly clear that bounty hunters are evil and only about the money, not the justice. Mini-Gus is just lickin’ his way through his ice cream cone throughout all of this, and I’m giddy with joy to report that even Mini-Gus wore pink button-down shirts. Hee!

Present day at the station, and Lassie is briefing everyone on Dwayne Tancana (played awesomely by W. Earl Brown, who was totally in an episode of ‘Murder, She Wrote’), who was previously incarcerated for a couple years for grand larceny, but is now on the run for murdering Isabella Cole. He actually escaped police custody, and when a young cop with horrific bangs wants to know how he got away, Jules lets everyone know that it was her fault. Lassie gets totally snappy, and it’s kind of sweet that he’s so protective of Jules. That sweetness, however, is pretty much canceled out when he basically punishes Jules by making her stay put at the station. Oh, and there’s Officer Buzz, who all the sudden looks really super tall, which is kind of hot. Lassie yells for his coffee, but Buzz already put it on his desk. The camera swings around to Lassie’s office, where Byrd (Siiigh) and the vic’s husband are waiting for him. Oh, and Byrd is gulping Lassie’s coffee in Lassie’s special mug. Blasphemous! Anyway, there’s a $50,000 price tag on Dwayne’s head, and Cole intends to pay it to whomever finds him. Lassie HATES Byrd and his lovely Farrah hair, and yanks away his coffee mug in a hissy fit of pissy.

Seriously when I tell you that nothing makes me happier right now than watching THE HILLS, you need to understand that I’m a way stressed out boy and the deliciousnes of watching HEIDI MONTAG go down in flames simply makes my year.

The Hills: Whitney, Lauren, Audrina (Posh)

The Hills has always been Must See TV but this season it’s gone from being a guilty pleasure to being arrestingly arousing reality television. Dare I say that The Hills has surpassed Laguna as the show with the most drama?

Last night was the episode we’ve been waiting for ALL SEASON! This is the episode where not only does Lauren go out with ex-Junkie/BF Jason Wahler – it’s the episode where the exes run into Heidi and Spencer!

The Scene: Jason (who’s looking pretty hot – but seriously he’s like 23 and he came back looking about 39 3/4) and Lauren go to Ketchup for dinner and while they’re sitting there getting drinks, in walks Satan and Heidi.

Lauren tenses up instantly and whispers that the spawn and his hell hound were in the house!

Dumbass Spencer walks by Lauren and Jason and says: “It’s great to see you guys back together… it’s heart warming!”

*Record scratches* and you know that Jason is about 4 seconds from snapping Spencer in half. You could have cut the tension with a pubic hair, it was insane and so awkward to watch. LOVED IT!

Next clip: Spencer saying that “Maybe she picked him up at rehab, maybe she picked him up from Jail.” Heidi (revealing the dead serious bitch she really is) says “Maybe their back in the movie making business!”

NOOOOOOOOOOOO YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOU DIDN’T!

The best is still yet to come folks… It’s Elodie and The After-Show after the jump.
