For a while now, internet sites have been a twitter with news that Buffy/Angel alum Charisma Carpenter would be joining The Apprentice’s Celebrity Edition. Luckily that is not the case. Instead, TV Guide is reporting that Cordelia Chase will be tempting those bad boys of BIG SHOTS!

She has booked a one-shot gig on Fox’s Back to You, and, more importantly, a recurring run on the new ABC drama Big Shots. Details on Carpenter’s Big Shots role are being kept hush-hush, though it is said she has a connection to Christopher Titus’ character. Carpenter first appears in the Nov. 1 episode.

My friend from the North, TheTVAddict is reporting that Degrassi’s resident bad-boy/psycho killer/drag racer/fertility god Sean Cameron aka actor Daniel Clark is heading to Broadway’s SPRING AWAKENING in 2008.
There are no confirmations so at the moment this is speculation though I’ll email TheTVAddict to find his source as he see’s these Degrassi kids all the time. Plus, Degrassi did do that whole Spring Awakening Teen Summit thing last year.
This is old news I know but still people are talking about it so I had to write about it. That and its a Friday so I was thinking of Degrassi.
I kind of hope this is not true. As much as I love me some Degrassi and some Spring Awakening, I don’t necessarily love me some Daniel Clark’s acting.
**Update: I got word from a source at Degrassi that this is not true at all. Sorry kids!

If FX keeps developing shows that sound more intersting than what the big networks are presenting, I may have to stop watching their parent channel Fox. This just in, Variety is reporting that FX has gone into development on a show called PARANOID.
FX is developing “Paranoid,” an edgy thriller with themes of privacy and spying, from “Fight Club” scribe Jim Uhls. The series is described as a modern-day “Parallax View,” centering on a surveillance agent who himself may be spied upon, all set against Patriot Act-America.
Sources say a pilot deal is likely but has not officially been ordered. “Paranoid” has had a long history, with a number of cable execs privately praising the script for months but also saying it was too dark to put on the air; in one scene, for instance, a man rips open his skin searching for an embedded surveillance device.
Sounds right up my alley!

It’s Friday, September 21st and the SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE Tour kicks off tonight in Albany, NY. I hate to admit it but I’ve kind of dropped the ball on covering the Tour this year as it’s been a trying couple months for the Duckster. Regardless, I know you all love the Tour and the Coverage from last year so I wanted to make sure I gathered as much intel as possible.
Blogging SYTYCD and I are teaming up to get as much coverage as possible so stay tuned and read on if you want to help out!
We have a number of tour locations covered already but what I’m looking for are people in as many cities as possible to write up a quick summary of the show, their thoughts, their favorite moments, their encounters with the dancers, etc. They should be a couple paragraphs long and fun to read. Spice it up, give us your honest opinion and write about what you would want to read about as a fan of the show. If you’ve got pictures, send me one or two or send me a link to them so I can post one or two and then link to the rest of your photos for all the fans to view. God knows we can’t get enough photos of Neil up in this place!
We just ask for prompt write ups as the fans are rabid and want to know it all before the tour reaches their stop!
Are you interested in being a SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE Tour Correspondent? Then Contact Ducky and let us know which city you can cover.
Here are the list of Tour Dates and some of the Correspondents I know we’ve already got covering the show. As you can see, there are plenty of empty spots (as I’ve just really started trying to cultivate reports). I also know that I’ve missed a person or two as I don’t have access to all the emails right now, so please let me know if I’ve left you off!

As many of my blogging cohorts did, I also recieved the newly revamped (get it, ahhhh… sorry) pilot episode of CBS’s much buzzed Vampire Private Eye show MOONLIGHT.

Back in May I was excited that a Vampire show could make it to one of the big three but then the turmoil began with reorganization and recasting. Lucky for Moonlight, the recast took the show from maybe I’ll tune in – to I cannot wait to see this almost instantly. Why you ask? The casting of Veronica Mars’ Jason Dohring and Shannyn Sossamon. “Dud to Stud” as Seat42F called it back in July while we all attended the Comic-Con panel (click here for Comic-Con Moonlight pictures).
Granted, this was all based on speculation of course as none of us had seen even a frame of the recast pilot. That is, until now.
Last night after a session of babysitting (don’t ask), I sat down to watch the DVD that had been burning a hole in my entertainment center for 24 hours already. I have good news and bad news. I know, you just cringed as I did while watching the Pilot.
The Good News:
Jason Dohring rocks the Pilot and is honestly the best part of Moonlight. Yes there is a little bit of Logan’s cockiness there, but Josef is in a completely different league. He’s powerful and wise not to mention successful and sure of himself. He’s a grown up version of the bad boy we know and love without being just another incarnation of Logan, if that makes sense.
Jason has two scenes in the Pilot and the first one is a little weak but the second scene is what forms my opinion of Dohring in the role. He’s almost scary how certain and powerful he is and the conviction in his voice is really tasty.
The Okay:
Alex O’Loughlin is charismatic and really hot in person but on the show it’s not fully coming across. I think he can pull off the lead, we just need to see more of him in action. At the moment, he’s a little stiff but I feel that this is attributed to the writing, not the acting.
The over-arching storyline is fine. I’m okay with there being another Vamp Detective on the television landscape but I’m a little weary of where they’ll go with it. It’s established that Mick St. John was sired by his ex-wife Coraline and that his pal Josef is wicked old. Mick’s also the vamp with a conscience who shoots up morgue blood heroine style to get his fix instead of feasting on humans. The three of them have lived long lives as vamps but Mick is the youngest of the crew and the one not trying to be more human. Coraline is your run of the mill evil to the core chick and Josef we’re not really sure about yet. It’s made semi-clear that Vamp secrecy and mythology must remain underwraps at almost any means necessary but Mick doesn’t seem to be on board with that theory.
Spoilers Ahead…

This just in, Michael Ausiello has the first news that Cynthia Watros will be returning to LOST this coming season in a multiple episode arc.

Lost executive producer Carlton Cuse confirms to me exclusively that the actress will be playing Hurley’s dearly departed sweetheart again this season for multiple episodes, presumably in more flashbacks.
“She’ll be in enough of the show for us to fill in the missing pieces of her story,” says Cuse. “We could not be more pleased. Cynthia is a smart and engaging actor, and [executive producer] Damon [Lindelof] and I have some very cool parts of her story left to tell.”
It’s by pure chance that Emmy winner Watros was even available for the return engagement: Her fall pilot, The Rich Inner Life of Penelope Cloud, wasn’t picked up, which left a spot open on her dance card.
I’m the guy that almost wet myself when they killed Libby back in Season 2 so this is one of the best casting confirmations I’ve read all summer. Lost mentioned at Comic-Con that they intend to continue Libby’s storyline in the near future but I never get too excited without confirmation. THIS IS SO GREAT!

SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE Results – Week 4
Tonight is the kickoff of the Season 3 SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE Tour and today I’m bringing you the grossly undervoted results from this past week’s competition. 4 routines were going head to head to determine our favorite 2 dances of the season and I’ve got to say that I’m pretty disappointed in the turnout (but not the results).
After a sad 3,087 votes the two routines leaving the competition today are…

Pasha & Sara’s Benji choreographed West Coast Swing has finally swung its last swang, er swing? Whatevs, it’s gone. As is the Wade Robson choreographed Fox Routine with Sabra & Lacey.
While I hate to see any leave, it’s all good because the two routines that deserve to be in the Top 2 the most are! Danny and Sabra’s Boardroom Brawl will match up against Danny and Neil’s Dueling Princes routine as the final week of cometition gets underway.
Stay tuned for Week 5’s Finale!
