Gossip Girl on The CW

It’s time to come out Upper East Siders, and no Chuck Bass we’re not talking about your latent homosexual tendencies or the writing of GOSSIP GIRL history by making Dan Humphrey far from his original bi soon to be gay self. We’re talking about a good old fashioned cotillion, a Deb Ball of yore where the richest bitches in town promenade, curtsy, and primp themselves for a dying generation of wrinkled hags trying to recapture their mythical youth.

B (or BW – loving the necklace) switched escorts more than a man at the Bunny Ranch. Serena lost a losing battle and was forced into the cotillion by her manipulative twunt of a grandmother with Dan Humphrey as her on and off escort. Chuck choreographed a brilliant dance in which Nate would go to any length to ruin Carter in front of Blair but it backfired and as the episode ended it was B & N in a bed. Little J continued to go to incredible lengths to become one of B’s minions but this time it cost her much more than case of mistaken identity. Way to ruin your Mother’s big opening there Jenny. Rufus learned the truth of why Lily dumped him all those years back and it further gives insight into the fact that Lily ain’t half bad. I smell a Rufus/Lily romance in the air.

Overall it was a pretty fun episode. The opening scene was incredible cutting between each and every character with a flawless ease and the flow of witty dialogue was divine. I’m way over Serena and Dan being all cutesy. Serena’s turned into this bumbling giggly mess of a twit and I’m not appreciating that character change. Blair is surprisingly becoming the shows most complex character and you’ll find no complaints here. Loving Lily’s transformation and couldn’t be rooting for she and Rufus more. Where’s Chuck running off to anyhow? I know they’re all too cool for school but no seriously, he has school… where’s he think he’s going?

The Price Is Right Set Being Auctioned

Is PLINKO for sale? I’d buy that thing in a heartbeat! This just in from CBS…

CBS’s THE PRICE IS RIGHT is donating six historical set pieces from television’s longest-running game show for an online auction at www.charityfolks.com/paleycenter to benefit The Paley Center for Media. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Paley Center’s ongoing efforts to increase the public’s understanding of the media and its growing significance in today’s society through various public and industry programs. Bidding will begin at 8:00 AM, ET Tuesday, Dec. 4 and last for two weeks, ending at 6:00 PM, ET on Monday, Dec 17.

The six items in the auction include:

  • Three (3) green door frames with door panels to be signed by former host Bob Barker
  • Two (2) lightable “The Price is Right” signs
  • One (1) “Race Drop” canvas used on stage to hide prizes from view
  • “A number of institutions as well as individuals wanted pieces from this classic 35-year-old set,” said Syd Vinnedge, Executive Producer, THE PRICE IS RIGHT. “We think it is fitting that the proceeds of this auction will go to the Paley Center named after the founder of CBS and one of the giant legends of broadcasting.”

“THE PRICE IS RIGHT is a pop-culture icon, and we are thrilled to be working with CBS and this hallmark game show to offer the opportunity for fans to have a piece of television history,” added Pat Mitchell, President and Chief Executive Officer of The Paley Center for Media. “We connect the media with the media enthusiasts whether through our public programs or through extraordinary events like this auction.”

The Paley Center for Media, with locations in New York and Los Angeles, leads the discussion about the cultural, creative, and social significance of television, radio, and emerging platforms for the professional community and media-interested public. Drawing upon its curatorial expertise, an international collection, and close relationships with the leaders of the media community, the Paley Center examines the intersections between media and society. The general public can access the collection and participate in programs that explore and celebrate the creativity, the innovations, the personalities, and the leaders who are shaping media. Through the global programs of its Media Council and International Council, the Paley Center also serves as a neutral setting where media professionals can engage in discussion and debate about the evolving media landscape. We don’t have a new SUPERNATURAL until December 13th “A Very Supernatural Christmas” but luckily this week we have another Behind The Scenes video.

Thank goodness there’s not a new Pushing Daisies on tonight because I’m not going to be home. I’ll be watching the supposedly fraktastic JUNO starring my tween girl crush Ellen Page. I absolove Ellen Page and thought she was the most kick ass thing in Hard Candy. Go girl…

Anyway, that’s not the point of my post. I have to quickly rant that I’m ready to cut up a mother at the cable company. Comcast is effin me and hard. About a week or two ago I realized that randomly some of the channels we have would be all stuttery and pixelated. It’s been getting progressively worse and this week it’s really messed with my TV viewing.

Both parts 2 and 3 from TIN MAN were unwatchable. Couldn’t watch. Recorded them and they’re nothing but big blocks of crap on my flatscreen. Essentially every channel except the network HD channels are unwatchable as of 7 p.m. last night.

They’re coming out tomorrow to look at our lines, our connections, and probably swap out our DVR box. All fine and well except for a couple things. It’s already fucked me on Tin Man and probably my chances of watching Project Runway tonight. Not to mention all of ABC Family’s amazing 25 Days of Christmas programming. Add to that the fact that if they swap out my DVR box, I lose everything saved on it currently.

I’m just so damn happy with Comcast.
