On a normal Thursday I’d be getting geared up for a fresh new episode of SUPERNATURAL but with the holidays and the WGA Strike, this is no normal Thursday. So in honor of my favorite boys on television I thought I’d write about something fun that I got over the holiday season.

Supernatural: Origins Issue 1
All 6 SUPERNATURAL: Origins Comic Books!

Apparently Issue 1 came out in May 2007 – where the frak have I been? Seriously. Regardless, I’m happy to have found them and to have begun reading them. While really this post has no relevance at all to anything in particular I really just wanted to write and say that I have them and that they kick ass and that it’s related to Supernatural which we all need a little more of in our lives.

Do you guys have these? Do you like them? So far I’ve only read Issue #1 but it was good, so I’m psyched to dive into Issue #2 today. God I’m getting geekier every day.

The most interesting thing about the comics to me has been that the creators responded to some complaints about the comic (such as the origin of the Impala) by agreeing to actually /change/ things. Apparently, when they put out future edition of the first comics, they’re changing the story to be more in line with the fans’ understanding of where the Impala came from. (see here: http://blogs.mediavillage.com/sci_fi/archives/2007/06/supernatural_co.html and http://blogs.mediavillage.com/sci_fi/archives/2007/07/peter_johnson_r.html — be sure to read the comments here, too, for more from Peter Johnson).

I still have a few objections (which I won’t go into since you haven’t read past the first issue yet), but the fact that TPTB actually listened to the fans and made changes because of it is enough to ensure I’ll be buying every issue they give us.

I got the first issue this past month when hunting (ha!) for the Supernatural magazine. Haven’t read it yet….
