It’s been 4 hours since my Season 4 Premiere DVD came and I still haven’t watched it.
Scared ya didn’t I? You thought I was going to say Baltar was a hot tranny mess or Lee Adama’s in a barely there towel again. Suckers… Sadly I don’t even know if I can watch it at all tonight. Festival duties are keeping me pretty damn busy today.
Let me tell ya, I picked the right day to call in sick! Just a minute ago, a lovely Fed Ex man delivered me the season premiere of BATTLESTAR GALACTICA Season 4!
It’s Friday night which means we should be watching CBS’s vamp thriller MOONLIGHT. Sadly, they are still on hiatus but that doesn’t mean we should take a Friday night off from swooning over the hotness that is Alex O’Loughlin.
Here are some behind the scenes photos from a seaside shoot for the upcoming episode entitled “Fated to Pretend” which is scheduled to air on April 25th at 9:00PM EST.
DOCTOR WHO won’t return in the U.S. until next month (Titanic much?) but thanks to BBC One, we’ve got a promo video of greatness to tide us over. You’ll hopefully recognize Catherine Tate’s return as Donna (The Runaway Bride) who’s searching for The Doctor. I’m freaking out because not only will we get Donna and Martha this season, we’ll see the return of my beloved Rose Tyler (Billie Piper). It’s going to be magical.
*Sci-Fi will air the 90 minute Season 3 to Season 4 bridging Christmas episode (“Voyage of the Damned”) on April 18th. The following week will be the official Season 4 premiere.
It’s Friday and that means we are just one week away from the premiere of BATTLESTAR GALACTICA Season 4! In order to get everyone frakkin’ excited, Sci-Fi is running two half hour specials tonight.
At 10pm EST you can catch Battlestar Galactica: Revealed which will catch you up on the past three seasons. BSG creators Ron Moore and David Eick will play host (what, no Mrs. Ron?).
Then at 10:30pm EST we can hear from celebs like Brad Paisley, Seth Green, Joel McHale and others about the “Phenomenon” of Battlestar and its impact on pop culture.
Hey gang, don’t forget that tonight I’ll be back to livebloggingMAKE ME A SUPERMODEL over at AfterElton.com. If you’re a fan of the show, this one is not to be missed as I’m sure tons of dirt will come out and maybe some updates on the Perry skank girlfriend scandal.
Check it out at 10pm EST on Bravo and come chat with me.
Joss Whedon’s upcoming DOLLHOUSE just got a little more enticing for me! If the reteaming of Joss and Faith wasn’t enough to get the geek blood flowing, throw in a little Battlestar Galactica hotness and I’m hard already!
Helo Tahmoh Penikett will join the cast as an FBI Agent hot on Echo’s trail. Better than frakkin’ a toaster, oh wait… Echo’s not much more than a toaster though is she? Guess we’ll find out this fall!
Tahmoh Penikett as Paul Smith: 30s, good looks hardened by a cynical distaste for most of humanity. An FBI field agent, he’s been chasing the urban myth of the Dollhouse long enough to have lost any shot at promotion. Becomes obsessed with and a twisted romantic foil for Echo (Eliza Dushku).
Fran Kranz as Topher Brink: 20s, genius programmer who’s articulate, nerdily attractive and blithely amoral. He’s responsible for imprinting the Dolls—and making sure they stay unaware of anything. Is fascinated by the science and kind of digging the illegality. Fun to be around but might not be remotely trustworthy.
Dichen Lachman as Sierra: 20s, Asian (or certainly not Caucasian). Strikingly beautiful. A Doll like Echo, she has every personality in the world but her own. Is not as self-aware as Echo but is instinctively drawn to her as a friend.
Enver Gjokaj as Victor: 20s, handsome and fit. A Doll, and the other closest thing to a friend Echo has. Childlike when he’s inactive, and everything from Errol Flynn to a young DeNiro when he’s active.
I hope that some of the other Whedonverse kids make it into the cast as well. I’d love to see Amber Benson, Charisma Carpenter, Tom Lenk, Alan Tudyk or Sean Maher back on my tube week to week.
Last night’s American Idol was pretty lackluster in my opinion but David Cook’s performance of Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean” was fraktastic! It starts off a little odd but hot damn if it doesn’t turn into one of the best covers ever! Who’s smelling the next Daughtry?
Watch David Cook’s “Billie Jean” Performance:
As for the rest of the night, I’m hard pressed to pick a performance I cared about in the slightest.
My girl Carly Smithson somehow made one of my all time favorites “Total Eclipse of the Heart” dull and lifeless. She was shrieking at times, emotionless the rest and it just made for a really disappointing performance. I had huge high hopes and seriously, I was pissed when she was done.
I know that Aussie bum did a really good job last night but there are certain songs and artists that no matter who covers them, they seem like second rate karaoke. There’s no doubt that Michael Johns has a good voice and that he more than carried himself through Queen but I wanted something more original from the guy.
Brooke White reminds me of a hippy dippy homeless girl so I always have issues watching her but my issues aside, that was a boring rendition of The Police. The mix-up in the beginning was fine with me but it never caught my attention.
Archuleta is going down and hard. That performance was the worst crap ever…
Syesha Mercado can sing her little heart out and she’s wonderful but blah blah blah last night. Boring.
Obviously I wasn’t loving the night so I’m going to stop before I get too mean. Time to rewatch Cook’s performance and maybe even iTunes that bitch!
It’s a crime that I’ve never really posted about America’s Best Dance Crew and we’re already at the Season Finale. I’ve been following the show and loving it more each week. It doesn’t hurt that Shane Sparks is still the coolest Judge on any competition show out there or that Lil Mama is my new best friend.
While my love has been silent the angst I have to find out that I could have attended the finale of ABDC is loud and uproarious!
Don’t forget to tune into the finale of America’s Best Dance Crew this Thursday at 10pm on MTV (and y’all better have voted Jabbawockeez).
In the meantime, check out Funny or Die’s visit to the set of ABDC.
Tonight was a pretty damn great night of comedy over on CBS. The block of BIG BANG THEORY and HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER continues to be must see TV and continues to make me piddle with laughter (and tonight with some sweetness).
Big Bang Theory made up for last week’s very average episode by showcasing Sheldon’s neurotic/compulsive side. In an episode that centered on lies, we learned that Leonard is horrible at it and in contrast Sheldon is a friggin’ master. To avoid an excruciating evening watching Penny sing a workshop performance of “Rent” the boys concoct a lie about a symposium that eventually morphs into Sheldon and Leonard performing a intervention on his fake Cousin Leo.
Sheldon obsesses over the validity and plausibility of the lie so much so that he gets someone to play his Addict Cousin Leo (DJ Qualls) to throw Penny off the scent of their lie.
Big Bang Theory’s Best Moments:
Leonard and Sheldon debating Terminator/Skynet and eventually Summer Glau’s sexy take on a toaster.
Sheldon (about Penny’s singing): “If cats could sing, they’d hate it too!”
Sheldon’s “unravelable” lie
Wolowitz: “You’re Quark-blocking us…”
DJ Qualls as Cousin Leo (and that he’s from Denton, TX – Rocky Horror much?)
Sheldon’s door knocking coupled with incesent “Leonard, Leonard, Leonard, Leonard, Leonard, Leonard, Leonard…” or “Penny, Penny, Penny, Penny, Penny, Penny, Penny…”
Cousin Leo: “Let me ask you something Penny, have you ever woke up in a flea-bag motel covered in your own vomit next to a transsexual prostitute?”
While the episode started out a little slow, by the time Sheldon started creating his “unravelable” lie, the show was at its finest. I loved this episode and am so glad it’s back until the end of the season.
Over at How I Met Your Mother, it was the premiere of Britney Spears and I’m happy to say that not only was it one of their finest episodes all season, even BritBrit herself had some funny moments. But, nothing will top the incredibly sweet and damn near perfect performance of Scrubs‘ Sarah Chalke as Stella, Ted’s possible future wife? (fingers crossed)
They did a great job in not giving Britney too many lines or too many things to play at once. Her quick little one liners actually worked for the most part and she even made me chuckle on occasion. I was really worried, but damn if Carter Bays and Co. didn’t somehow make it work.
And speaking of making it work… Chalke was divine as Doctor Stella Tattoo Remover. She was smokin’ hot, sassy, classy, and in the end adorably playful and sweet. That’s one hot single mom! HIMYM somehow captured the perfect balance and spirit of a first date, comedy, and cuteness all wrapped in a 2 minute date. It was quite possibly the shining moment of the season as far as emotions go. She’s gotta be their “Mother” in the title of the show right? I mean, Scrubs is almost over and she’ll be free to take on another show so I don’t see why not. Her chemistry with Josh Radnor/Ted Mosby was spot-on and I’ll feel cheated if this is all we got. Beautiful.
How I Met Your Mother’s Best Moments:
Ted’s butterfly tramp-stamp tattoo.
Guy In Theatre: “Yeah, we all got it, Ted’s a schmuck!”
Robin’s “Stairway to Heaven”/Roger Daltrey mix-up had me rollin’. Give her a break, she’s Canadian.
Barney’s magic fireball timeout and Marshall’s girly surprise reaction.
Ted’s ’stache and everything involved with it — Brit’s “Magnum” line and Barney’s year old mustache bet.
The 2 minute date.
If both of these shows can continue to bring joy and laughter to my Monday nights, I’ll be a happy TV viewer. What did you guys think?
ABC Family’s hit show GREEK comes back tonight for Season 2 and I’m ashamed to admit it but I’ve never watched the show. I think I would love it but having never really watched, I’m not certain. Here’s what I know… There’s a gay guy, the guy from quarterlife, Frasier’s daughter, and in the video below it looks like Delia (Senta Moses) from My So Called Life is on this show too! Should I be watching? Who can send me Season 1 on DVD to prime me for Season 2?
Thanks to the good folks at Supernatural and Warner Bros. Television I’m happy to announce that I have 3 prize packs to give away! Tomorrow (March 25th), Issue #3 of the official Supernatural Magazine is released but I’ve had it for almost a week and I want to share the love.
I’m giving away 3 sets of Supernatural Magazine Issues #1 – #3 and it’s easy to enter.
In the comments section, tell me and all of the other Supernatural fans what your favorite moment of Season 3 has been and also your least favorite moment of Season 3. You have to list both in order to win so don’t be all lazy ass.
The contest ends when Supernatural returns to the airwaves… From now until April 24th at 10pm you can enter to win a Supernatural Magazine Prize Pack.
Hey Supernatural fans, yet another good thing came out of my trip to LA for Paley this week. I got some great Supernatural scoop to share with you guys!
Just as I was leaving Los Angeles, it was announced that Jared Padalecki will be starring in the upcoming Friday the 13th remake (booo but yeah, damn I’m torn) but before he can face off with (Mrs.?) Voorhees, he and Jensen may have to face hell first.
As we all know, Supernatural has been picked up for Season 4 and the back 4 episodes of Season 3 will begin on April 24th.
The first episode back went into production last Thursday, Episode 3.13 “Ghostfacers.” It will feature a reality show that the boys get wrapped up into when the case they’re investigating also happens to be the focus of a new reality show hosted by Season 1’s “Hell House” boys Harry & Ed (played by Travis Wester and A.J. Buckley). Apparently there’s a whole crew that now works with these two idiots and it makes for quite the show.
Episode 3.15 will dip into John Winchester’s past as something from Supernatural: Origins comics comes to life on the small screen. A certain “organ stealing” baddie will make an appearance and I’m frakkin’ excited about it… Get me a Doc stat!
And finally, Episode 3.16 will serve as the Season 3 finale and according to Kripke: “Dean’s deal comes due, time’s up, and we’ll pay off whether or not he goes to hell.”
I’m so excited for the show to return in a couple weeks and it sounds like there are some great things in store. Don’t forget to tune in on April 24th and don’t forget to check back later this week for some Supernatural Giveaways (click here to enter and win)!
