I took last week off but this week I’m back with another segment of my way too personal AfterElton series How’d I Miss My Coming Out?
This week I throw a piece of bubblegum into my mouth and regurgitate a pop princess or two. It’s 1988 and I’m chilling with Debbie Gibson, Tiffany and Martika. Read all about it!
Nooooooooooooooo! Say it ain’t so Sammy, say it ain’t so! Obviously Sam and I have broken up and he forgot to tell me. Was I at Comic-Con too long and he strayed? Was I too needy? Was I too obsessive? What’s the deal Sam, I’d really like to know!
How could you, you son of a bitch… I gave you the best years of my life and you go behind my back to get engaged to some Columbian hussy? The nerve!
You’re just bastard people and I hate your ass face!
I’m sorry; I love you and miss you and please come home…
According to People.com:
Sam Talbot, the heartthrob finalist from Top Chef season two, is engaged to his Colombian girlfriend, Paola Guerro, he tells PEOPLE exclusively.
“I’m so in love it’s unreal. We got engaged this weekend,” Talbot gushed on Wednesday.
The couple met on Talbot’s 30th Birthday in Brazil last December. “She’s amazing. She’s stunning,” Talbot says.
Guerra, also 30, a model and T-shirt designer, visits Talbot at his new Montauk restaurant, Surf Lodge, every weekend or more. He adds: “She takes care of me in many ways. I’m quite lucky.”
They haven’t set a date yet, but chances are Top Chef judges Padma Lakshmi and Tom Colicchio will be there to support one of their best breakout stars. “Tom and I talk all the time,” Talbot says. “We’re friends.”
Wow, I feel like I’ve been in So You Think You Can Dance silence for quite some time. I still haven’t seen last week’s episodes though I do know that Will and Comfort went home. While I’m not surprised that Will went home, I know that the Judges are pissy beyond belief. I love the chaos that sending a frontrunner home brings to the table and it will make for a bitter and fun performance episode this week as Nigel tries to bully Mark or Twitch into failing and going home. Will just wasn’t a personality so he went home, plain and simple. I’m not shedding a tear, I’ll tell you that much.
Regardless, it’s time to move onto the Top 6 and the couples, routines and choreographers they pulled out of Cat Deeley’s hat this week.

Seeing how these were three of the panels I was dying to see at Comic-Con but missed out on because of banoodles of other panels and press rooms. Regardless, NBC has made each of these panels available for streaming and here are the links below.
If you’re sitting here wondering why the frak I don’t have any PUSHING DAISIES stuff from Comic-Con then you obviously don’t know me very well. Of course all of the Pushing Daisies Comic-Con action is over at my other site, ThePieMaker.com
Plus there’s more on the way. We’ll have video of the entire Q&A session, video of Kristin Chenoweth singing “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” and exclusive one on one time with Bryan Fuller so keep checking back!
Hey SUPERNATURAL fans, here are the pictures I took today from both the press room and the Comic-Con panel. If you’re going to use any of them please let me know or link back to me please. I appreciate it and stay tuned for the audio from the panel as well as some scoop from the press room and panel.
Enjoy the pictures of Erik Kripke, Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Sera Gamble and Ben Edlund from the Supernatural 2008 Comic-Con panel.
While I wasn’t able to sit in on the actual CHUCK panel today because of my Pushing Daisies duties, I was able to work the press room instead. First we sat down with creators and Exec. Producers Josh Schwartz and Chris Fedak then Yvonne Strahovski and Adam Baldwin before finally getting the man Zac Levi.
Here’s what we learned through our interviews…
When season 2 kicks off, an indistinguishable amount of time will have passed.
Season 2 will deal more with the mythology of the show, ie. why Chuck was chosen. That does not mean that there will be less mystery of the week-ness to the show.
They will be delving into character backstories more.
According to Schwartz, “There will be swooningly romantic” moments this season, especially in Ep. 2.03 where there’s a moment that makes him misty every time he watches it.
There will be a King of Kong type moment where Chuck tries to find the guy that holds the worlds record on Missile Command and it turns out to be fellow Nerd Herder Jeff.
According to Strahovski, the introduction of Jill (Chuck’s mythical ex played by Jordana Brewster) causing a new range of emotions for Sarah. She’ll be jealous and somewhat insecure.
Sarah will no longer work at Weinerlicious, this season she will work at a Pinkberry type shop called Orange Orange (that is actually completely blue on the inside which makes Levi chuckle).
Here’s a list of the confirmed guest stars for Season 2 so far: Tony Hale, Jordana Brewster, Nicole Richie, Michael Clarke Duncan, John Larroquette, Melinda Clark, Ben Savage, NY Giants Michael Strahan. Schwartz reiterates that this is will not be a Love Boat like scenario but admits that some of it is to help remind people of the show by these castings.
I’m bummed that I didn’t get to see the actual panel or the 6 minute Chuck Season 2 reel but I’ll survive. I cannot wait for Season 2 to begin this fall on NBC.
Yesterday, Rae and I were able to get into the DR. HORRIBLE Panel with seats that were not too shabby but with little time to spare. I was able to record the entire panel and have it here for all of you to listen to. The panel was hilarious, Nathan Fillion stole the show which is something with Neil Patrick Harris is in the room. The entire cast was there including the glorious and luminous Felicia Day and Simon Helberg (Moist) not to mention writers Jed Whedon, Zach Whedon and Marissa Tancharoen.
As you’ll hear, there are lots of Hammer/Penis jokes so get ready to laugh your ass off. I will warn you that there is some neighbor cell phone interference every 8 minutes or so but it’s really not too bad.
If you’re already a loyal TV Talk Podcast subscriber, this panel will automatically download to your iTunes (or may be sitting there waiting for you now)!

Being a big nerd, I was really excited to see THE BIG BANG THEORY panel at Comic-Con. I have to tell you though that with the lack of sleep we’ve had already (Day 2 of the Con), I have to admit that I’m not feeling the Con this morning. Jim Parsons forgive me if I didn’t laugh as loud as I normally would have… I was still without a Venti 2 Bag Chai Tea!
The panel began with a Season 1 clip reel that couldn’t have been more tailored for the Comic-Con audience and it had a great reception. The moderator of the panel, Adam Savage from Mythbusters, then introduced a great stop motion animated video set to the theme song by some viewer in the UK. It was banoodles!
While we didn’t learn a ton about the upcoming season, it was a great panel thanks to the cast and creators of the show. They discussed each panelists geekiest early day traits, the complexity of some ideas introduced on the show, Penny’s knowledge of how the boys perceive her and her ability to play them, and much more.
After the panel I got to interview the cast and creators about their reaction to the panel (amazed) and the upcoming season. Here are some tidbits…
The characters are based on people from creator Bill Prady’s computer programmer days.
They originally shot a pilot for BBT 2.5 years ago with Johnny and Jim Parsons but it never went anywhere. Then CBS gave them the change to rewrite, recast and reshoot so they hired Kaley, Simon and Kumal.
The archetype for Wolowitz is cartoon character Pepi la Pue. Makes so much sense!
Jim Parsons worries about Sheldon’s likability but trusts the writers. Bill and Chuck Lorre don’t worry so much because Jim makes Sheldon so damn likable and forgiving.
Johnny Galecki’s happy to not be the best friend or gay assistant any longer.
As for this season, the date Leonard and Penny went on in the finale will not go so well.
They are about a month and a half ahead of when the episodes will air.
They have yet to go into production for Season 2 so sadly no scenes have been shot and the actors don’t really know what’s going to happen this year.
Season 2 will give us a chance to learn more about the characters.
Kunal said it was originally really intimidating to play scenes where he doesn’t talk because he was worried about having nothing to do but soon found it a whole new acting challenge.
Sara Gilbert will be back in Season 2 as Leslie Winkle. Jim mentioned that he thought there was something sexual in the tension between Sheldon and Leslie last season…

Maybe I’m a fool but I didnt’ know that TORCHWOOD’s John Barroman and Naoko Mori were both in Miss Saigon together. During the Comic-Con panel yesterday we were treated to an impromptu sing-a-long between Barrowman and Mori. Watch it below!
Sorry it took so long to post this. I uploaded it to YouTube this morning then hit Comic-Con all day so this is the first chance I’ve had. Hope you enjoyed it!
You know that this was one of my most anticipated panels and you know that there was a little part of me that thought I might wake up wrapped in plastic with a slight knick out of my right cheek… I’m just sayin! In other words, I had high hopes for the DEXTER panel and I was not disappointed. Well not completely; I would have killed to see Jennifer Carpenter but I’ll survive.
After the bore that was HBO’s True Blood panel, I was dying to see Kristin Dos Santos’ funky spunky approach at moderating Dex Morgan and Co. She’s such a fangirl that she always injects a crazy fun dose of frenetic energy into any panel she’s a part of and she did not let me down.
The panel kicked off with a never before seen extended trailer for Season 3 (premiering September 28th) that teased us about how the student is becoming the teacher (cue Dr. Horrible’s evil laugh)! Deb’s got shorter hair; there’s a botched job; Jimmy Smits’ family values obsessed ADA Prado made an appearance and overall it just looks kick ass.
Watch the full kick ass Dexter Season 3 Trailer:
Michael C. Hall (Dexter), Julie Benz (Rita), Clyde Phillips (Exec. Producer), another writer (how could I forget her name) took that stage and the bloody fun began.

The Torchwood panel was one of the funniest and raunchiest panels I’ve ever witnessed. You can totally tell that the cast is just enamored with each other and that it truly killed them to lose Tosh and Owen at the end of Season 2.
As previously mentioned in my Doctor Who recap, Barrowman had to make an entrance and it was hilarious! He mounted the table like a total rock star and when co-star Gareth David-Lloyd walked out, he grabbed him and they totally made out. It was hilarious and hot and just simply perfect. When Naoko Mori entered (to huge fanfare) he made out with her too! Capt. Jack to the end!
Barrowman was a total rockstar on stage and he owned that panel. If he wasn’t touching Gareth non-stop he was threatening the sound engineers for turning down his mic when they should know he’s got a comment for everything or making taking every opportunity to throw in some sexual innuendo. Those are some dirty birds (not pterodactyls) those Torchwood kids.
Barrowman’s family were in the audience including his parents, niece and Partner which was damn-dorable.
He pimped his book a couple times which, why the frak not? He did his best Rosie doing an impression impression which was sooo not right (but brilliant just the same).
He kept telling the crowd that Gareth looked amazing naked and was “big.” He said that their naked hide and seek scene led to Gareth accidentally sticking his hand down John’s pants. Deleted scenes please?
He told us how he freaked out when he finally read that he was in fact The Face of Boe and how it changed the dynamic between The Doctor and Capt. Jack.
They discussed their theories about Capt. Jack being buried alive for 2000 years and how he survived. In Barrowman’s mind, he put himself into a trance knowing that someone someday would eventually find him. Seeing how he can’t die, did he really have a choice?
They talked about how Season 3 will only be 5 episodes long with one huge story involving a big event early on that pushes the Torchwood gang into new territory. A lot will change for Torchwood
Season 3 begins shooting in 4 weeks!
Season 3 takes place after the events of the Doctor Who Series 4 finale and will feature more with Mr. Hot ASs Ianto Jones!
Barrowman would be up for auditioning for the role of Captain America if it presented itself to which the audience went batshit.
They gave huge props to Freema Agyeman for being able to fit in with the cast, the life of the show and for just being plain awesome for having a pre-existing relationship with Jack which in turn both infuriated and energized the cast.
Well aside from the making out and talking about reaching down each others pants, it was fun to see the entire group rip on each other. Remember how I said that it was a pretty dirty panel?

Last year I missed out on the Torchwood panel and I wanted to scream because you know I love me some Capt. Jack, Gwen, Ianto, Owen and Tosh! Today I made sure I was in the room an hour early so that there was no chance of me missing all the Cardiff riff fun which started with Doctor Who!
DOCTOR WHO
Exec. Producer Julie Gardner joined Doctor Who’s new showrunner Steven Moffat to discuss this past season as well as the direction of Series 5 under Moffet’s control. In the house were old school Doctor Who fans, new school enthusiasts, and numerous versions of the Doctors over the years.
The panel started with a Season 4 clip reel that got the crowd amped up, which was much needed after Gardner informed us that Russell T. Davies wouldn’t be in attendance because he was chained up in Cardiff writing Season 3 of Torchwood. Boooooo. We were also treated to a Moffat clip reel and seriously he has created some of my faves (Blink anyone?).
Here’s some tidbits from the panel:
Moffat was hilarious and semi-vulgar which was brilliant.
He’s always been a Who fanboy and thinks its amazing that in the UK they’ll let fans just take over their favorite shows, or as he put it who’s been “given a big toy to play with.”
Moffat spent his flight over writing Series 5 episode 1.
For those worried that he’ll try to make Doctor Who more scary than funny, he said you should be (but he was joking)
“Wibbly Wobbly Timey Wimey” is an explaination just because
River Song has met David Tennant’s Doctor before but its not the only version of the Doctor she’s met.
People wondered if River Song could be The Doctor’s wife?
Gardner talked about how Cardiff has just opened their arms to the cast and crew, letting them take over the city and blow shit up.
We got a spoiler about the finale that’s airing tonight and next week which made me want to scream. I won’t divulge it here but I will say it involves a certain someone and a certain someone else and a parallel dimension.
Moffat’s favorite episode is Christmas Invasion while Gardner’s is Utopia.
Gardner and Moffat fought over having River Song with Donna’s kids at the end of Forest of the Dead. Moffat thought it was ridonk to have them there and that it was confusing, Gardner now agrees to some extent.
The Doctor never obeys rules so we shouldn’t be concerned that the series would end once we get to his supposed last regeneration.
Gardner and Moffat have a great relationship but you can tell that she’s hardcore and can probably fight with the best of them. There were so many moments when Moffat was speaking that I could hear the voice of The Doctor, I loved that. He’s a hoot!
The panel ended with an extended preview of the Christmas 2008 episode which features the return of the Cybermen, plus Cyber monkey’s and much more. It was banoodles and the crowd loved it so much that they played it twice.
Actually they played it twice to give Torchwood’s John Barrowman time to make his big gay entrance!
Hey gang, just wanted to updated you all real quick on SUPERNATURAL happenings.
The Supernatural Signing on Saturday with Jensen and Jared has been canceled due to production schedules.
They will still be at the panel on Sunday and Jensen will now be joining the Sunday signing session at the WB Booth (#4329 – Hall E). Jared will still participate in the Friday the 13th panel as well.
