Maybe I’m a fool but I didnt’ know that TORCHWOOD’s John Barroman and Naoko Mori were both in Miss Saigon together. During the Comic-Con panel yesterday we were treated to an impromptu sing-a-long between Barrowman and Mori. Watch it below!

Sorry it took so long to post this. I uploaded it to YouTube this morning then hit Comic-Con all day so this is the first chance I’ve had. Hope you enjoyed it!

DEXTER Comic-Con Poster - Panel

You know that this was one of my most anticipated panels and you know that there was a little part of me that thought I might wake up wrapped in plastic with a slight knick out of my right cheek… I’m just sayin! In other words, I had high hopes for the DEXTER panel and I was not disappointed. Well not completely; I would have killed to see Jennifer Carpenter but I’ll survive.

After the bore that was HBO’s True Blood panel, I was dying to see Kristin Dos Santos’ funky spunky approach at moderating Dex Morgan and Co. She’s such a fangirl that she always injects a crazy fun dose of frenetic energy into any panel she’s a part of and she did not let me down.

The panel kicked off with a never before seen extended trailer for Season 3 (premiering September 28th) that teased us about how the student is becoming the teacher (cue Dr. Horrible’s evil laugh)! Deb’s got shorter hair; there’s a botched job; Jimmy Smits’ family values obsessed ADA Prado made an appearance and overall it just looks kick ass.

Watch the full kick ass Dexter Season 3 Trailer:

Michael C. Hall (Dexter), Julie Benz (Rita), Clyde Phillips (Exec. Producer), another writer (how could I forget her name) took that stage and the bloody fun began.

Torchwood Comic-Con 2008 (4)

The Torchwood panel was one of the funniest and raunchiest panels I’ve ever witnessed. You can totally tell that the cast is just enamored with each other and that it truly killed them to lose Tosh and Owen at the end of Season 2.

As previously mentioned in my Doctor Who recap, Barrowman had to make an entrance and it was hilarious! He mounted the table like a total rock star and when co-star Gareth David-Lloyd walked out, he grabbed him and they totally made out. It was hilarious and hot and just simply perfect. When Naoko Mori entered (to huge fanfare) he made out with her too! Capt. Jack to the end!

Barrowman was a total rockstar on stage and he owned that panel. If he wasn’t touching Gareth non-stop he was threatening the sound engineers for turning down his mic when they should know he’s got a comment for everything or making taking every opportunity to throw in some sexual innuendo. Those are some dirty birds (not pterodactyls) those Torchwood kids.

  • Barrowman’s family were in the audience including his parents, niece and Partner which was damn-dorable.
  • He pimped his book a couple times which, why the frak not? He did his best Rosie doing an impression impression which was sooo not right (but brilliant just the same).
  • He kept telling the crowd that Gareth looked amazing naked and was “big.” He said that their naked hide and seek scene led to Gareth accidentally sticking his hand down John’s pants. Deleted scenes please?
  • He told us how he freaked out when he finally read that he was in fact The Face of Boe and how it changed the dynamic between The Doctor and Capt. Jack.
  • They discussed their theories about Capt. Jack being buried alive for 2000 years and how he survived. In Barrowman’s mind, he put himself into a trance knowing that someone someday would eventually find him. Seeing how he can’t die, did he really have a choice?
  • They talked about how Season 3 will only be 5 episodes long with one huge story involving a big event early on that pushes the Torchwood gang into new territory. A lot will change for Torchwood
  • Season 3 begins shooting in 4 weeks!
  • Season 3 takes place after the events of the Doctor Who Series 4 finale and will feature more with Mr. Hot ASs Ianto Jones!
  • Barrowman would be up for auditioning for the role of Captain America if it presented itself to which the audience went batshit.
  • They gave huge props to Freema Agyeman for being able to fit in with the cast, the life of the show and for just being plain awesome for having a pre-existing relationship with Jack which in turn both infuriated and energized the cast.
  • Well aside from the making out and talking about reaching down each others pants, it was fun to see the entire group rip on each other. Remember how I said that it was a pretty dirty panel?

    Doctor Who Series 4

Last year I missed out on the Torchwood panel and I wanted to scream because you know I love me some Capt. Jack, Gwen, Ianto, Owen and Tosh! Today I made sure I was in the room an hour early so that there was no chance of me missing all the Cardiff riff fun which started with Doctor Who!

    DOCTOR WHO
Exec. Producer Julie Gardner joined Doctor Who’s new showrunner Steven Moffat to discuss this past season as well as the direction of Series 5 under Moffet’s control. In the house were old school Doctor Who fans, new school enthusiasts, and numerous versions of the Doctors over the years.

The panel started with a Season 4 clip reel that got the crowd amped up, which was much needed after Gardner informed us that Russell T. Davies wouldn’t be in attendance because he was chained up in Cardiff writing Season 3 of Torchwood. Boooooo. We were also treated to a Moffat clip reel and seriously he has created some of my faves (Blink anyone?).

Here’s some tidbits from the panel:

  • Moffat was hilarious and semi-vulgar which was brilliant.
  • He’s always been a Who fanboy and thinks its amazing that in the UK they’ll let fans just take over their favorite shows, or as he put it who’s been “given a big toy to play with.”
  • Moffat spent his flight over writing Series 5 episode 1.
  • For those worried that he’ll try to make Doctor Who more scary than funny, he said you should be (but he was joking)
  • “Wibbly Wobbly Timey Wimey” is an explaination just because
  • River Song has met David Tennant’s Doctor before but its not the only version of the Doctor she’s met.
  • People wondered if River Song could be The Doctor’s wife?
  • Gardner talked about how Cardiff has just opened their arms to the cast and crew, letting them take over the city and blow shit up.
  • We got a spoiler about the finale that’s airing tonight and next week which made me want to scream. I won’t divulge it here but I will say it involves a certain someone and a certain someone else and a parallel dimension.
  • Moffat’s favorite episode is Christmas Invasion while Gardner’s is Utopia.
  • Gardner and Moffat fought over having River Song with Donna’s kids at the end of Forest of the Dead. Moffat thought it was ridonk to have them there and that it was confusing, Gardner now agrees to some extent.
  • The Doctor never obeys rules so we shouldn’t be concerned that the series would end once we get to his supposed last regeneration.
  • Gardner and Moffat have a great relationship but you can tell that she’s hardcore and can probably fight with the best of them. There were so many moments when Moffat was speaking that I could hear the voice of The Doctor, I loved that. He’s a hoot!

The panel ended with an extended preview of the Christmas 2008 episode which features the return of the Cybermen, plus Cyber monkey’s and much more. It was banoodles and the crowd loved it so much that they played it twice.

Actually they played it twice to give Torchwood’s John Barrowman time to make his big gay entrance!
