SUPERNATURAL “Yellow Fever” Behind The Scenes Photos (Luther)

I feel like SUPERNATURAL’s “Yellow Fever” was so hyped in my own mind (and all over the blogosphere) that going into the episode I was expecting nothing but a little disappointment. I really enjoyed this episode but I don’t think it was one of the strongest this season. My opinion might change as time goes on because adding Lilith to the mix and having Sam’s eyes flash in those final moments were pretty great so…

Here are some of my favorite moments from Supernatural “Yellow Fever”:

  • Starting off with Dean being chased by that little dog with the pink bow… j’adorable
  • The look on Dean’s face when he realized that holding the heart actually was the best option (I hope Sam washed his face in acid after that spleen juice bukkake action)
  • Gamecocks and Cornjerkers
  • Seriously with the hand sanitizer Sheriff?
  • “Tyler and Perry, that’s just like Aerosmith”
  • Dean’s crazy paranoia (the dog, the harmless kids on the street, doing 20 mph, “Am I haunted?”, hotel rooms past the 1st floor, impersonating FBI agents, the before mentioned dog incident, Sam as YED)
  • EYE OF THE TIGER! (and don’t forget the outtake clip)
  • Hahaha, a disease that only latches onto dicks!
  • OMFG, I almost peed when Dean let out that girly scream when the cat jumped out of the locker! GENIUS!
  • Our introduction to this week’s baddie Luther Garland scared the shit out of me because it reminded me of the ending to The Blair Witch Project (visually that is)
  • “Is he drunk?”
  • Um, how gross that people are taking on the signs of Luther’s vicious dragging death? That’s hideous.
  • Dean’s crazy people speech was great. Jensen rocked it!
  • Gumby with Pokey getting dragged around by a rope… hilarious!
  • I like the idea behind killing this week’s big baddie aka ghosty. Kill it with fear.
  • LILITH! Oh gosh, that little bitch is hugging Dean. Oh she’s scarier than one of those Fanning kids. Seriously with the ba-booming? Kill that skank already.
  • Holy crap, Sam’s eyes quickly flashing yellow at the very end!

I’m curious to hear your take on Sam’s eyes flashing yellow? Since I’ve gotten into Supernatural, I’ve noticed that the writers leave subtle clues to the season’s bigger questions throughout the season. What does it mean that Sam has demon blood in him? Do you think Azazel may have one day been an infected like Sam is now? Is that his end-game? My ideas are crazy and off base, probably, but I just want to discuss the show! So tell me what your response is to the last few episodes?

      I meant infected *human.

PS- Lilith scares the shit out of me! That little girl is soooo freaky.

This episode was absolutely hilarious. It’s definitely one of my favorite episodes. It was a nice fun episode that let us get of glimpse of Dean if he wasn’t his usual fearless badass.

My favorite scene was when Dean screamed after the cat was discovered. What was your favorite Dean freak out moment?

Next week should be good. After all it’s the Halloween episode!

      Ducky,
Thats a lotta love for an episode that left you “meh”. I have a similar problem though, this season has been so universally great that it’s hard to get as worked up over this episode as I would have had it aired last season. I too died laughing when Dean screamed at the cat (and the hubby and I rewound it three times- the returns were not diminishing) and the Luther story broke my heart. When you combine those elements with the YED flash from Sam at the end and a cameo from creepy kid Lillith- the episode was a near perfect mix of all of the things I love about Supernatural. The show seems to have truly found its stride this season and I am so glad to be one of the few who have found the show…it gives me more straight out viewing pleasure than anything else on my TV schedule at the moment (hopefully, LOST will reclaim that crown in January). By the way, did you see the love Mo Ryan gave to Supernatural on her site? It’s worth checking out…

There are so many “small” moments in this episode that I LOVED. The crazy speech, scary little girl Lillith! Yikes! I liked that we saw Dean be a girl and Sam be a man. Sam telling Dean not to scratch or pick at his arms just cracked me up! He so sounded like a mom. Lots of bitchfacing. There are just so many things I loved about this episode and I am not even talking about the “suprise” at the end. That was worth waiting 2 weeks for. That would have been worth waiting for the S4 gag reel for…except not. I want it now! They need to be releasing that shit more often!
