Jared and Jensen at the bar

With a title like “Sex & Violence” SUPERNATURAL has a lot to live up to this week… It’s pretty much exactly what I want each and every episode involving Sam and Dean Winchester to be about, I’m just throwing that out there!

While this was not one of my favorite episodes this season, it did have some great moments and a couple classic zingers to keep my attention. Here are some of my thoughts from “Sex & Violence”.

  • While I usually love the gory cold openings that Supernatural has become famous for this season, this week was weak ass! The acting was less than stellar and the outcome predictable. I’d give that girl a meat tenderizer too… for her acting skills.
  • Does anyone else think that Adam Benson looked a little like an ugly poor man’s Chris Evans – if Chris Evans wasn’t already the poor man’s Chris Evans.
  • Strippers… why am I predicting Dean will be knee deep in a lap dance before the episode ends? “Strippers Sammy, Strippers! We’re on an actual case with strippers!”
  • Why do I always like Maite Schwartz who’s playing Dr. Cara Roberts?
  • I love that Dr. Roberts paid Dean no attention – she’s a Sammy girl all the way. “Dude you totally C-blocked me…”
  • Dean: “Hey, I read…”
  • Poor little Lenny reminds me of FNL’s Matt Saracen a little. Thankfully, Saracen’s not banging stripper/demon sirens that would convince him to off Grams.
  • Bobby has really nice wood blinds for being a backwoods demon hunter… just an observation.
  • Bobby: “These things are tricky bitches”
  • Just as I was wondering how long Sam and Dean can go impersonating FBI agents before someone crosses them, in walked a real FBI agent. I love that Bobby has a different phone line for every possible undercover persona these two cook up.
  • While that Doctor was seducing Sam I kept thinking a couple different things. First that Ruby will kick this girls ass. Second that she might be a Siren. Third that it’s a glass office where anyone could see what’s going on… hello! Dr. Cara if you’re nasty!
  • Dean: “Did you sleep with her?”
    Sam: (hesitates) “No”
Dean: “Holy crap you did! We’re in the middle of Basic Instinct and you bang Sharon Stone?”
  • Dean’s got a point, Sam does have a thing for banging demons. What’s that all about? Drawn to kindred spirits or just a flavor for the naughty girls? Jessica was no Tyra Collette so this seems off type for Sammy.
  • I kind of liked this FBI buddy that Dean became chummy with. I liked that he was into the same music, the same cars and that Dean had someone to bond with. It’s a new bromance, no literally it became a freaky bromance because that dude ended up being a Siren – the perfect little brother. Jeepers Creepers!
  • Um, ew… Siren FBI guy just squirted in Sam’s mouth.
  • With both Winchester’s possessed, the dirty, ugly, hard truth came out. Dean revealed that he didn’t trust Sam because of all his little lies and secret phone calls while Sam revealed that he’s keeping it all from Dean because Dean’s not man enough to go after Lilith.
  • Thank god Bobby showed up right before Dean sunk an axe into Sammy’s chest.
  • Ugh, so now we’re back to where the boys were in the beginning of the season with the secret keeping, the animosity and the tension. Damn these boys, either have it out and move on or go your separate ways for a while.

I’m surprised you didn’t mention the greatest part about the siren/strippers — they were all named after Disney princesses.

    2. Ducky says:

I never in a million years would have known that! That’s hilarious though.

My favorite part was when Sam was yelling at Dean about what a pussy he was and said “boo hoo” – the look on Sam’s face and then Dean? Snap!

Man you really didn’t notice the strippers/princesses (Jasmine, Ariel, Aurora, and Belle) ;)
My favorite part was the fight! Dean’s “See what I mean” sounded so pissed and Sam’s”Boo hoo” was so arrogant! PERFECT!!!!!
Absolutely loved this episode! Nick was a great siren/Fbi guy/dream little brother.
