    1. Kyle says:

Favorite Psych episode Gus Walks into a Bank–love a good bank heist episode (my favorite episodes of Leverage and Burn Notice also involve banks)

    2. Kristen says:

Oh man I can’t wait for Psych to premier this Friday! I got season 3 for my birthday but I would love to win the prize pack for my best friend who I got addicted to the show by lending her my DVDs (she was the one who gave me season 3 for my birthday).

As for a favorite episode? Oh gosh there are so many. But I’d probably have to go with second season’s “Zero to Murder in Sixty Seconds” simply because it’s the episode I use to get people to fall in love with the show. Shawn and Gus are at their best when Shawn is putting Gus in an outrageous position and Gus has to take it like he planned it all along. The fact that Shawn pimps Gus’s ride is simply hilarious. And I really enjoyed the “villain” in the episode, Wally.

I love the show because it’s witty, smart, fast, and the bromance between Shawn and Gus cannot be beat! I can’t wait for this show to come back. I forget how much I miss it!

    3. Kristi says:

I love this show! Only one show comes to mind immediately…Spellingg Bee. The scene in the Spell Master booth is laugh-out-loud-while-peeing-your-pants funny! “Anna Banana would like to hear Venus by Bananarama….banana.” I chuckle to myself when I shop for deodorant and see Mitchum!

    4. Bree says:

My favourite Psych episode so far is “An Evening with Mr. Yang”. It was different from most episodes in that we saw a more serious side of Shawn meanwhile Gus was taking his usual goofy persona within the group.

The bits where we saw more of the Spencer’s family dynamic were also interesting, something we don’t usually get to see (Mostly his parents interacting).

Overall a great, dynamic episode. It seemed to have more plot and depth than most of them, while still maintaining the show’s humor and slew of pop culture references.

A great show, can’t wait ’til the premiere Friday night!

    5. Tommy says:

Buh-nah-nuh. I couldn’t stop laughing the entire episode. Watched every episode since the premiere. Would LOVE to win. Thanks for hosting a great contest!

    6. Emily says:

My favorite episode is American Duos. I had already enjoyed the series, but their audition pretty much made this show my all time favorite. Of course they chose the classic ’80’s hit: “Take On Me” and they did such a terrible job singing it, creating basic comedic genius. Shawn Spenstar and Gus T. T. Showbiz made me laugh throughout the entire episode. Shawn’s back and forth between Tim Curry’s Nigel St. Nigel was pure hilarity. This episode is one of the best and one of the most memorable episodes

I also enjoyed the season 3 finale, An Evening With Mr. Yang, but I think we ALL did :P

    7. Gillian says:

American Duos – I’m not sure which was better Tim Curry or Sean & Gus’ duet!

    8. Saman says:

So glad to see psych back for another season and expect it to stick around for a while! Favorite epidosde has to go to when Juliet goes undercover at the sorority and Shawn and Gus go in to help despite their fears of the big ol’ house. Grey to see the dynamics in play and Gus screaming is a pure winner! love Dule Hill =)

    9. Anna says:

My fave episode to date has been “Tuesday the 17th”, it was hilarious and scared the crap out of me at the same time! Awesome! But all the other episodes are really good too!

    10. Nicki says:

      Scary Sherry: Bianca’s Toast
Love the part when Shawn, Gus and Jules are in the sorority house and the lights go out and when they come back on Shawn and Gus are GONE. Then when Shawn tries to explain to Jules that they were not really scared and Gus takes off without him (after of course trying to get into his locked car that has the window down). :) I love those guys!!

    11. Avril L. Hines says:

It really is hard to pick just one, but mine would be “Murder…Anyone?….Anyone?…Beuller??” The nostalgia factor alone, with all the movie references to Ferris Beuller, Pretty in Pink and Breakfast Club, makes it worth watching. Then add in classic Psych twists and turns like a body dropping from the roof, or Shawn’s Mom and Dad making out in the auto shop car….its just dang good tv!

    12. Luna says:

My favorite episode was Tuesday the 17th. Read and loved April Fools Day when I was a teenager… the movie sucked, but this episode ROCKED and fully made up for the blunder that was the movie!

    13. Nicole says:

My favorite episode of ‘Psych’ has to be Weekend Warriors. It was one of the first episodes where I felt that every character was really working well as a cohesive unit. The crime story also had a great twist, and it’s not every day that you see a TV show do an episode about a War Reenactment! Lassiter’s get-up was very fab~ :)

    14. Jen says:

The Old an the Restless. This whole episode was a bunch of witty one liners that cracked me up the entire time. EX – “I can literally see the curvature of the earth from here.”

    15. Tracy Meiswinkel says:

My favorite episode is “Black and Tan”, not only was it hilarious to see Shawn and Gus pretend to be models, but it was nice seeing Gus have something that he was better at than Shawn, because he’s always Shawn’s sidekick. Plus, the Psych-Out from that episode is BY FAR my favorite. I watch it all the time and laugh so hard everytime I see it!!!
      :-)

    16. Peter says:

Best episode so far is Evening with Mr. Yang. It was really quite intense, but at the same time it was super funny and it made me laugh like only Psych can. Even Gus got in on the corny routines. Best line: “they’re all out of butter.”

    17. Christina says:

My favorite episode of Psych is “From Earth to Starbucks” because of the little things. Like the kicking of his butt when he runs! Plus the non-predictable-predictable-ness of Gus!

    18. Ariel says:

I loved the episode “Disco Didn’t Die, It Was Murdered!”

    19. Melissa says:

My favorite episode is Lassie Did a Bad, Bad Thing. This is because Shawn gives a speech to Jules about combos…and his theory about the cheesless pretzel combo totally makes sense.
On a more sentimental note, I enjoy this episode because Gus, Shawn, and Lassie join forces to solve a crime. Lassie puts aside his hostility towards Shawn and that just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

    20. Francesca says:

I absolutely adore “Talk Derby to Me”… I laugh so much at so many episodes, but this episode really made me laugh and shake my head. I have a ’soft spot’ for Roller Derby and for the ‘romance’ between O’Hara and Shawn.

But, my favorite episode of all time is the one that kills that ‘romance’, “An Evening with Mr. Yang”. Not only was it well written, it was also a well-thought out, well-constructed show. And while I love the show for the humor, the moment that Juliet realized that she was no longer Shawn’s number one interest, it also proved just how good an actress Maggie Lawson is….

    21. Whitney says:

I love so many of the episodes it’s really almost impossible to choose a favorite; my favorite tends to change every time I watch a different one! For the moment, my favorite would be “Lassie Did a Bad, Bad Thing”. I love episodes where Lassie has a big part because I love his character and especially his interactions with Shawn! I also really like the more dramatic moments in that episode and Lassie being all cool and heroic! I love everything about that episode! “American Duos” and “Black and Tan a Crime of Fashion”, not to mention “An Evening with Mr. Yang” are some of my other favorites! Oooo and the Civil War Episode! I really do love too many of the episodes to just pick one!

    22. Katherine says:

While it’s hard to pick a favorite from this awesome series, I’m going to go with Weekend Warriors, because 1. I’m a Lassiter fan, and 2. There’s just something about “face wig” that is so absolutely amazing.

    23. Cody says:

my favorite episode of psych has to be “American Duos”. Everything about it was great. The judges were funny, and the guest actors and actresses were very good. And then at the end of the episode shawn and gus dance and sing “Shout”, which was one of the funniest things i have ever seen on television. It’s hard picking just one episode because every episode is soo good, but that one kind of stands out a little more to me.

    24. Jen says:

The Greatest Adventure in the History of Basic Cable. Please, Steven Webber as Shawn’s unlce, treasure hunt, burgers, hilarity.

    25. Julie says:

I would have to say “An Evening with Mr. Yang,” because we get a closer look into Shawn’s “process” and how his friendship with Gus works. It’s also one of the more exciting episodes, and Mr. Yang is awesomely tricksy.

    26. Chelsey Rigdon says:

My favorite episode is either Cloudy… With a Chance of Murder or There’s Something About Mira.
I love Cloudy…because Shawn gets to pretend he’s a legal consultant and he really doesn’t understand legal jargon. Gus is awesome because the judge asked him if he’d attended law school. I love how Lassiter was also quite helpful in the case as well.

There’s Something About Mira: I love how Gus was as a young man, and how crazy Mira was. I also adore how Shawn was terribly upset with Gus for not letting him be at his wedding. It’s great at the end when Shawn freaks out and demands that they go save Gus.

    27. Jenn says:

Oooo…favorite episode? I’m going to have to go with a tie between Scary Sherry: Bianca’s Toast and An Evening With Mr. Yang (who didn’t love that one?).

I loved Scary Sherry: Bianca’s Toast just because it was really cool to see Juliet really get into her ‘undercover character’, and to see Shawn and Gus freak out with the old mental institution. Juliet kicked so much tail at the end.

An Evening With Mr. Yang was just awesome because we got to see Shawn in a totally different light when his mom was taken by Mr. (or is it Mrs.?) Yang. Gus was so funny trying to make light of the situations and seeing Lassie’s and Jules’ faces when he was doing so- priceless! (“I want pancakes. Who wants some pancakes? Whipped butter… Maple syrup… What?”)

And my final favorite bit in that episode was the Shules moment at the end. Juliet’s speech was so amazing and the shell shocked look on Shawn made it totally worth it, especially his reaction to her kiss on the cheek. It makes having to wait for them to get together totally worth it. (“The best things, the richest things, are the things that don’t come easy.”)

    28. Courtney L says:

Wow, how can I choose??!?! So many awesome Psych episodes! The first one that comes to mind is season 1’s Weekend Warriors, or season 2’s American Duos. Both are pure awesomeness :)

    29. Amy says:

My favorite has to be Black and Tan. What’s not to love about Gus and Shawn pretending to be models? And it’s great to see Gus get some attention.

    30. Laney says:

I netflixed the first 3 seasons so I could be ready for this Friday. Would really like to own them eventually. :)

I cannot choose a favorite, they all make me laugh. But one of my favorites that no one above has mentioned is “He Loves me, He loves me not, He loves me, oops he’s dead” because I love the speed dating element. It always kills me that Jules and Shawn end up perfectly matched!

    31. Dave MacDonald says:

Favorite episode? That’s easy: Weekend Warriors from season 1. It has some of the over-the-top silliness that (for me) defines Psych. There is a great look into what Lassie does with his free time, some great Shawn/Henry stuff, and of course, one of my favorite lines in Psych-dom: “Mr. Guster, there’s a Lieutenant Crunch here to see you.” “Actually, I’ve been promoted. It’s Captain Crunch.”

    32. Valerie says:

Favorite episode is without question “Disco didn’t die. It was murdered” It has me cracking up every time I watch it more than every episode. The outfits, the car, just everything is hilarious and so much fun.

    33. chi1013 says:

Ooh tough one. I’d have to go classic and say “Scary Sherry: Bianca’s Toast”. The reason: Shawn and Gus started an urban legend! Juliet is hilarious as a sorority sister. Gus is NOT from the Cosby Show. Lassiter gets to pull out his gun! We even get fun Henry moments! It’s a lot of fun, well acted, well written, and uses all of their characters effectively. <3

    34. Joyce says:

My favorite episode Spellingg Bee. I can’t really explain why. It just seems funnier than the others (though they’re all HILARIOUS), and has a nice story. Plus, it’s the first episode Jules is in!

    35. cheddah says:

I love Psych for so many reasons – the 80s references, relationships between Gus and Shawn, Shawn and Henry, Shawn and Lassie, etc. It’s hilarious and I love when Henry tells Shawn not to do that “crazy head thing” and of course that’s what he does.

Favorite episode: Poker? I Barely Know Her.

    36. Carrie says:

My favorite episode is Shawn vs the Red Phantom. Comic Con gone wild complete with Mr. Sulu. I got a blueberry muffin at a restaurant the other morning and it had Maine blueberries in it. <3 Shawn’s Magic Head bit too

    37. Sara says:

My favorite Psych episode (other than the answer “all of them”) would have to be “Lassie Did a Bad, Bad Thing.” Not only was it a great episode featuring the always wonderful Tim Omundson, it had a little bit of something for everyone and showed how the relationships between all characters are growing and developing over time.

Not to mention, have you listened to the audio commentary for that episode? Priceless!

    38. Kerri says:

My favorite episode would have to be American Duos. Shawn and Gus in their 80s get-ups plus TIM CURRY!!! Really can’t beat that.

    39. Sarah says:

My favorite episode is Gus Walk into a Bank. I love that Shawn first gets himself taken hostage and then released leaving Gus alone with the older people and women.

    40. Jamie says:

My favorite episode has got to be Scary Sherry or Tuesday the 17th – any of the horror episodes are so much fun!! I’m a big 80’s/earl y90’s horror fan, so I love when James Roday writes episodes that mirror his love of the genre! They also have some of the best moments in them!

    41. Adrienne says:

Favorite Psych episode would have to be Spellingg Bee. It’s classic season 1 and always makes me laugh no matter how many times I’ve watched it.

“Anna Banana would like to sing Venus by Banana Rama. Banana.”

    42. Zack Y. says:

My fav would definatly be “Black and Tan”. It perfectly showed the core of Psych, loveable characters, hilarious humor, random refrences, and just a ton of fun. It also gives James and Dule such great chances to make expressions (an essential part of pusych). Overall it was just a great episode!

    43. Eric says:

Favorite episode is the season 2 finale, “Shawn (and Gus) of the Dead,” because I love Gus’s reactions. For my money, Lassiter and Gus are the real stars of the show.

    44. Famin says:

Favorite episode? Lights, Camera…Homicidio made me laugh till I cried. Yes, literally. The Spanish-language version of the theme song is a particular favorite too. Of course, this makes me wonder if there will be a Hindi-language version of the theme song for the upcoming Bollywood episode. Please, please, please say yes!

    45. Jason says:

My favorite episode is Lights, Camera…Homicidio. Shawn talking like the El Pollo Loco guy is hilarious. But they’re all awesome. I don’t really think an actual “bad” episode of Psych has ever been made.

    46. Emily says:

Asking me to pick a favorite Psych episode is probably one of the most difficult things you could have had me do! If I had to go with one, it would be “Murder?…Anyone?…Anyone?…Bueller?” Possibly my favorite moment in Psych history was the rooftop 80’s dance performed by James. Pure genious. I have been watching since the very first episode, and I have loved every hilarious moment. I hope the shows stays for many more seasons!

    47. Amiablejak says:

An Evening With Mr. Yang is my favorite episode to date. Really pushed the limits of what you thought was going to happen. Very cool.

    48. Kent says:

      The bank robbery episode.

    49. Holly says:

I cannot choose just one – I would watch reruns of ANY of the episodes… but when “Lights, Camera…Homicidio” first aired, my Tivo (set to record any and all Psych episodes) recorded the show on the Spanish Language Channel – in Spanish. I also really like how they change the theme music for the holidays. Nice touch.

    50. Katie says:

I think my favorite episode was Tuesday the 17th… Perhaps it was the Rick Astley pinata… oh, who knows. I can never pick just one episode. Every epsiode this past season was my favorite. I was laughing so much at all of them.

    51. Stefanie says:

“An Evening With Mr. Yang” because it was deep, thrilling and fantastic- I was at the edge of my seat the whole time. I tend to love mixed genres much better than straight one or another, so action-comedy is right up my alley…. And to see Shawn actually frazzled was really cool, and needing Gus to step in and relieve tension. Anyways, that’s my favorite…I’m looking forward to it’s sequel!

    52. Lauren B. says:

I don’t normally like scary movies, but I LOVED Tuesday the 17th. LOL It was a great episode though…as well as American Duos. Can you say “tim curry and singing shawn and gus?” Hell yes!!! :)

      -Lauren

    53. Caroline says:

I love ‘em all, but I think my favorite episode is “Tuesday the 17th.” It has all my favorite elements of the show, and balances them perfectly. We get to see Lassiter’s marriage finally end, Juliet taking charge of a situation, a good mystery, awesome spoofing of the horror genre, and Shawn’s girly scream! What more could you ask from an hour of television?

    54. Ashley says:

This is a very mean question! Making me chose one episode is near impossible! But I’ll try! Oh lets see a competition between Spellingg Bee, Shawn (and Gus) of the Dead and probably Murder? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? I’d have to go with Spellingg Bee. Because it is the first episode with Shawn and Juliet and Shawn’s impression of her when they meet is hilarious. I also like the scene between Shawn and Henry with the dog house and then at the very end when Shawn leaves the puppy with Henry then says it isn’t even his dog its his neighbors. Ok. I think that’s it. hard choice but I did it!

    55. Tristan says:

Hmmm…… The Greatest Adventure in the History of Basic Cable. Because the gold was real in the end, and Shawn got it.

    56. D.J. K says:

How can you have just one? With Shawn always doing the detective work and Gus there to bring Shawn back down to earth at times, there can’t be just one! The best one had to be the episode with the seal and Shawn sneaking into the aquarium after hours.

    57. Carrie Baert says:

My favorite Psych episode is the Season 3 Premiere, because of the overhead scene where Gus is dragging Shawn (who’s laying on the floor) from the office building…I laughed hysterically for a long time.

    58. Melanie Petruzzi says:

My fav psych episode is the 2nd episode, spelling bee. I love the “bananas” “onion” moment.

    59. Johanna says:

I have a lot of favorites, but my absolute favorite episode at the moment is Lassie Did A Bad, Bad Thing. Timothy Omundson is a fantastic actor and by gosh he looked gorgeous in that episode. First he appeared soaking wet, with his hair messed up and in a bad-ass trenchcoat, then he got to wear one of Shawn’s shirts that really brought out the color of his eyes. AWESOME! On a more serious note though, I love Shawn and Lassiter’s scenes together and their interactions. It’s almost a love-hate thing,- as shown in this episode, Shawn clearly cares about Lassie and thinks he’s a good person even though they don’t usually see eye-to-eye. The comedy was mixed with a lot of suspense and even some angst, which was done to perfection. The scene in the end in Lassiter’s apartment was very well written and acted. I heard in the writers pod cast that the line “He pursued me!” was cut out,- that’s the only thing that could have made the episode better! And I think it’s funny that a crooked cop though that the whole Shawn-and-Lassie-were-former-lovers-thing was something the police department would believe. Their dynamic is a bit like that in a way. I want more of it.

    60. Maya says:

My favorite episode was “Black and Tan: A Crime of Fashion.” I thought it was hilarious, and it really brought out the different sides of Gus and Juliet–first with Gus’ ditching of Shawn for Berlinda and then with Juliet’s desire to dress like a woman.
Plus Shawn’s “reveal” scene was like the coolest, ever!

    61. Kali says:

My favorite episode is Zero to Murder in 60 seconds. I love when the blueberry gets a paint job and I also just love how at the end when Shawn is asking his dad for help but every time his dad says, well you can’t win ‘em all sort of statements, Shawn keeps saying things like, “no, it was my best work yet.” Actually, I also like when he loses his date because he’s accidentally insulting her. Basically, I love the whole episode. There are so many quotable pieces in that and memorable scenes.

    62. Dianah says:

So many great episodes, but my love of slasher films makes “Tuesday the 17th” my favorite. Add in the heartbreaking scenes with Lassie and it’s fabulous wrapped in awesome to the power of 10.

Second fave is a tie – the fan fave “American Duos” and “Murder? … anyone? … anyone? … Bueller?” All those John Hughes/Brat Pack references killed me!

    63. entwashian says:

Cloudy… with a Chance of Murder is my favorite episode of Psych, because it’s the first one I watched, and the one that got me hooked. My favorite parent is my Dad, because he frequently watches Psych with me. My favorite friend is Mackenzie, because I told her she should watch Psych and she bought herself the season 1 DVD set. My favorite finger is my right index finger because I use it to push the buttons on the remote control so I can watch Psych, my favorite sibling is my older sister because she snuck me into R-rated movies our mom wouldn’t let me see, and my favorite pet is my cat. Because she is pretty.

    64. Sarah says:

Favorite episode? Definitely The Greatest Adventure in the History of Basic Cable. Why because it’s awesome that’s why. I love the adventure and the Goonies love. If only Shawn did the Truffle Shuffle. that would’ve been awesome!!!

My favorite part if that episode is when shawn asks his dad, “You want me to…poke your eyes out on the roof?”

Now I’m hungry for truffles and Chuck from the Goonies….

    65. Shannon says:

Arg! I have to choose 1 favorite episode of Psych?! That’s tough! I think one of the ones that makes me laugh the most is Lights, Camera, Homocidio. Shawn as a Telenovela Star – Chad?! Too funny, and the redone lyrics to the song – I like it anytime they switch up the opening theme song – makes me smile – but so much of this show does that….Big fan of the show! Would love to win those bobble heads!! Thanks for the contest Ducky!

    66. Hassan says:

The one where they pretend to be models. I love that episode.

    67. Suzzi says:

I looooooooooooove the bounty hunters one. I also really love the Kenny Loggins reference episode. Ok I love them all!

      Thanks for the contest tooo!

    68. Robert says:

You can’t beat the pilot. It set up the characters so well (well, except the one who didn’t test well with audiences and didn’t come back), but it set the stage very nicely.

    69. Kristin says:

Picking from one of my top selections: it would have to be the episode of “9 lives” where the cat, the witness, can talk to Shawn and then gets to ride shotgun in Gus’s car.
      best parts:
*Juliet: ‘it appears to be a suicide…’
Shawn: ‘the cat doesn’t think so.’
*Shawn: ‘oh Gus! good news- shower for two’
Later in the episode, they rent out a broom closet (dial-a-psychic) to spy on the stress help line down the hallway. Gus calls the company and the agent, Rory, is more than unhelpful causing Gus begins to take inventory of his whole life.
      *Gus: ‘i like water sports’
      Rory: ‘like drowning?’
      Gus: ‘What!?’
      *Gus: ‘pharmaceutical sales? not sexy.’
Then Rory’s musical inspiration is show tunes. :)
      oh i could go on!!

      I dazzle! and I stretch!

    70. Natasha says:

Favorite episode… hmmm… definitely a tough question, frankly, making a top 10 list of fav Psych eps would be hard for me too! But having rewatched all the eps multiple times, I’ll have to go with: Shawn (and Gus) of the Dead. Reasons why (in no particular order):
-Call back to another fabulous ep: 65 Million Years Off with Zippy the Dinosaur in the museum
      -Bruton Gaster
-Shawn trying to beat the cameras (complete with cameos by Dule’s mom and Steve Franks!)
-Pancake Butt, and Gus’ comments when he is forced to watch Shawn flirt with the museum curator sans audio (I have a motorcycle, but I never seem to be riding it!)
      -The ELEVEN POINT TURN.
-Shawn helping the “Interim Chief” become “Chief”!
-Lassiter dismayed when he hears he was “unavailable for comment” on the news
-Shawn’s description of what Night Cycle should be about
-Gus adamantly refusing to break the plane of the mummy room, and then buying wolfsbane online
-All the running scenes by Shawn and Gus
      -Gus insisting Shawn calls him
-Shawn fooling Gus into believing there was a “sensor” to the exit after the museum was locked down
      -awkward class
-Shawn’s wrap up from his comment that it wasn’t his first time in a coffin to shouting “I saw him run away in the forest!” as everyone leaves.
      -the title
-Gus’ comment about the mummy being able to drive a stick shift
-Shawn saying he’s heard it both ways when Jules corrects him on the pronunciation of Nefertiti
-Shawn’s comments on the layout and items in the mummy room

Basically, I love everything about the episode. And yes the promo you embedded is “d’Awesome”! :)

      Thanks for this opportunity!

My favorite episode is, without a doubt, the Weekend Warriors episode. I love Civil War history and my favorite crime-solving duo, Shawn and Gus, not to mention the line, “It’s Captain Crunch now.”

    72. Jake Valenta says:

“From the Earth to the Starbucks” – always been a fan of Richard Kind, and loved seeing Dule get to work with his wife! :-D

    73. Aaron says:

My favorite two episodes have to be: “Lights, Camera…Homicidio” or “American Duos.”

Lights, Camera…Homicidio: Shawn’s Spanish accent is so funny in this episode and the way he fakes the Spanish towards the end is equally great. Plus Lassiter’s line when he is caught with the camera is one of the best lines ever.

American Duos: How is the two dressing up like the members of Tears for Fears not the best thing EVER? Gus as Michael Jackson? Amazing.
And the two of them singing Take On Me made me roll on the floor laughing, especially at the “in a dream” part. Priceless.

    74. Barbara says:

It’s so hard to pick just one! My favorite episode is probably ‘An Evening With Mr. Yang’. It was more ’stressful’ than the other episodes, but I loved seeing another side to my favorite characters. I have watched it way too many times trying to squeeze everything I can out of it.

    75. Blogette says:

Without a doubt, “American Duos.” I can almost quote this episode word for word (don’t judge me). It never gets old for me, and I always laugh my ass off while watching it.

    76. ShaLinda says:

My favorite Psych episode: “Tuesday the 17th”

It was really, really hard to chose but I decided to go with “Tuesday the 17th”. It’s just one of those episodes that never really leave your head. The writing for one, was great because it was two stories, wrapped up in one pretty little box. You get this fun, you know 80’s slasher movie feel, with how it starts off and once the killings become real… you get this more, darker kind of recent feel and it’s great to pull both and shove them into this nice combination that works.

Though the brutal murders were not shown, the fact that James & Steve went there, was great because they went with the flow of the episode. They didn’t give a dark episode with humor and childish murders, it went full on.

It has great character advancements in my opinion. Gus for once, got to play the prankster and he got Shawn in such a good way. You also got to see Gus in a more dominate light because he fought off the killer without a scratch on him.

Then you get another glimpse of how much Shawn loves Gus, which is great character development because you know their past, how they grew up together and you really get to see how strong their brother to brother love is for each other. Shawn ran off to fight a serial killer to save Gus’ life.

It was just such a fun episode, that made you wonder and laugh and you had to watch it over and over again, trying to catch little moments that might of led you to certain conclusions sooner. It was probably my favorite episode from Season three. The best of the best.

    77. Sammy says:

(Saw this on Twitter!) My favorite episode is “Black & Tan: A Crime Of Passion” because it’s the first episode I ever saw and it’s when I immediately feel in love with Psych.

    78. Maddie says:

It’s SO hard to choose a favorite episode (because really, they’re all so good!), but if I HAD to I would choose…wait for it…wait for ittttt…Lights, Camera… Homicidio.

I’ve watched this episode more than the others, because there’s just pure comedic GOLD in it. It’s SUCH a ride to watch, and I’m laughing my butt off the entire time. Seeing Shawn speak Spanish and act on a soap opera while he and Gus get sucked into the world of television was enthralling. The ending is SPECTACULAR, with Shawn acting the soap live while facing a murderer. And one of my favorite lines of all time is in it: “Shawn is the father of Serena’s baby!” Honestly, no other show but Psych could be both that ridiculous and hilarious. It’s just amazing, and the entire episode reminds me of why I love this show so freaking much.

    79. Emily says:

My favorite Psych episode was the one where they were at the spelling bee. It had some of the best lines in it!

    80. Brian says:

“Tuesday the 17th” hands down. It’s one of those episodes that is amazing on multiple levels. The more you know about 80’s horror movies the better it is.

    81. Coleen says:

My all time favorite episode is Scary Sherry: Bianca’s Toast, Because even though I’ve seen it at least 7 times it still makes me laugh to the point of tears like it did the first time I watched it.

    82. Amanda says:

Every episode is my favorite! It’s one of the few shows that my husband and I will watch together. We even named our dog after Gus!
I love all of the 80’s references, and the pineapples. It’s such a great show!
And, I cannot wait for the season premire! Cary Elwes??? Yes, please!

    83. brenda says:

i am so glad that psych is back!! it is one of my favorite shows and my fav ep is def disco didn’t die, it was murdered. because i love the part when gus just cracks up laughing and also just all the 70’s references. i laughed so hard with that episode and i kno i will with this season too

    84. Sam says:

Jeez thats a tough one. There are so many great ones out there, really hard to choose. However since I have to pick just one, I’d say “The Greatest Adventure in the History of Basic Cable” because it spoofs an 80s movie (the goonies), has a treasure hunt involved, and was just a little different from all the other episodes. Psych explored other areas with this episode and it was refreshing.

    85. Kevin says:

There are too many episodes to name just one favorite. But I’d have to say that any episode that has the two “Acting Natural”. Specifically, in “There’s Something About Mira” when they are on the golf course and they pull out the “Act Natural”, their mannerisms are hilarious in that scene!

    86. Mindel says:

@Psych_USA sent us the link for this! Wow, I have no idea how you all are running this contest, but I must say, it is SO great to see so many Psych fans! And everyone picked really great episodes! I’m going just suck it up and pick one!
      “65 Million Years Off”
This dino ep never fails to lift my spirits and have me cackling in no time! I love the simple Psychness of this episode. It seems to me that it is just the quintessential Psych episode. The guys are at their best here.
James and Dule just look like they are having fun. That’s all this episode is, is fun. “An Evening with Mr. Yang” and “Tuesday the 17th” are fantastic as are 15 other episodes. But, when all I want to do is turn on my favorite show and simply laugh, this is the one I turn to. It’s silly, irreverent, charming and very entertaining. Anytime you just want to laugh, this is a great place to start! Ducky, if you haven’t seen it, go, run, go and watch it now! And enjoy laughing!

    87. bunnyb says:

They’re awesome!! My fave episode was in season 3 when they went to that creepy campsite! :) Loved it!

    88. Katie says:

Can’t wait for the new episode…ahh!!! Okay, my favorite episode..that’s kind of hard haha. I don’t memorize them by name or anything, and it’s been awhile since I’ve seen any because they don’t do repeat shows on USA of Psych during the summer [curse them! lol jk] but I loved the one where Shawn was on the boat with the killer [my minds a bit foggy, I apologize] but it was the most action packed episode to my knowledge, and I loved it!

    89. Anna R. says:

My favorite episode has to be From the Earth to Starbucks. From the hilarious lines and scenes such as “The Jackal has arrived..” part and the “You heard about Pluto? That’s messed up, right?” line to the surprisingly tender hearts of Shawn and Gus to help Lassie out (while still being completely hilarious and not effecting the silly irresponsibility of Shawn and all) it’s the perfect mix of emotions for an episode. I love it!! Quality quality quality!

    90. Anna R. says:

Oh, and @PsychUSA sent me here!!

    91. Amy says:

I have two favorite episodes–one is when Shawn and Gus investigate a murder at the Spelling Bee and the other is when they’re at the Comic Book Convention. Oh, and of course, when Shawn interrupts Gus when he’s on a corporate retreat. Then there’s that Civil War re-enactment. This is hard!

    92. Dawn says:

I’m so excited for the Psych premiere! Perfect timing because SYTYCD is just ending.

      Favorite Episodes:

Season 1: “Cloudy…Chance of Murder” for Shawn’s series of possible weatherman names (from the bloopers). Bill Brightoutside is my favorite.

Season 2: “Lights, Camera…Homicidio” for Shawn’s spanglish and Lassie’s “Me gusta queso.”

Season 3: “Lassie Did A Bad Bad Thing” for the following exchange:
Shawn: I decided to be and therefore I am. Socrates said that.
      Gus: No, that was Descartes.
Shawn: No that’s the cologne we wore in high school.
      Gus: That’s Drakkar Noir.
      Shawn: That is a wine.
      Gus: That’s Pinot Noir.

My brother got me into the show, and then we talked about it so much that my mom decided to start watching. I was watching 9 Lives with her and I told her, “I love Shawn, I think James Roday is really cute.” And she nods and we watch for another minute and she says, “You know who he reminds me of? Your brother.” My Shawn love died a little (lot) that night, but I still love the show.

    93. Alicia Luszczyk says:

‘An Evening With Mr. Yang,’ Not only is this episode special because we were given a glimpse of the extent of James Roday’s writing talents, but there’s more to it. Normally very light-hearted, the show took a darker turn when Shawn’s mother was kidnapped and the serious side of Shawn emerged. This was Psych’s validation episode. This was the episode that made you say, yes Psych is clever and funny but here is tangible proof that it’s deeper and it has staying power. This episode gave us the chance to see the actors take on new challenges as we saw a shift in their own personalities. It managed to prove it’s wide range while still retaining that core Psych-iness. There were funny parts, of course (it is Shawn and Gus) but I think it was important for everyone to see a different dimension to Shawn and his relationships. Although he is our eternal Peter Pan he proved that he’s also desperately loyal and touchingly human.

    94. Janelle @ Brimful Curiosities says:

MURDER? … ANYONE? … ANYONE? … BUELLER tops my list mostly because my high school class actually was just as lame and had a 13 year class reunion like in the show (minus the murder). No lie. We missed the 10th because no one felt like planning it.

    95. Caitlin says:

Picking a favorite Psych episode is HARD because they are all amazing! But the first one to pop to mind was “9 Lives”. I love cats, so I loved the little boy cat (that turned out not to be a little boy cat at all! lol). I also think there is something SO endearing about McNab, and he was in the episode a lot. Plus, it has so many amazing one-liners that my family still quotes to this day!

    96. Jess says:

I have been watching this show since it first started airing and absolutely love it. So many excellent episodes but one of my favorites has to be ‘Tuesday the 17th’ as I’m a big fan of horror films and I’ve watched this episode at least 3 times. So excited for the new season to start!

    97. Angie O says:

Favorite ep? Darn. That’s hard. I think it would have to be … Lights, Camera, Homicidio. I LOVED Shawn acting on the telenovela. And Spanish theme song was majorly fun. It was my ring tone for months and months until I switched to the dumb iPhone that wouldn’t let me use it. Or, at least, I haven’t figured out how to get it to work yet.

    98. Erin says:

I love Psy. vs. Psy. just for the lines Lassiter: I wrestled in high school. FBI Agent: With what, your conscience?

I’m also a fan of The Old and The Restless for the line Shawn: Could you look for a John Doe, actually any doe, tae kwon, cookie, play.

    99. Dah says:

This is a hard choice but I have to say Scary Sherry: Bianca’s Toast.

    100. imeaj says:

That’s such a tough decision! I’ve adored all the episodes and love most of them…
So…I’ll go with: “From the Earth to the Starbucks”
I love the development of the characters – Lassiter was finally seen in a weaker light and Shawn in a more sympathetic one. It was the first time Lassiter really looked at Juliet and saw her as his partner and not just as someone he was training. It also allowed Gus to have a love interest (something he doesn’t get too often) and he got to jump up and down at the end when he solved the case (or rather … didn’t solve it – because of course, that was Lassiter).
Also – fist-bump genius in this one. Sweet!

    101. Amber m. says:

My favorite episode was the season 3 finale, “An evening with Mr. Yang”. It was different from all of the other episodes that have been shown, but it still had it’s funny moments in there. I think James Roday character really breaks out in this episode, especially when he realized his mom was kidnapped. One of his best scenes, i think. But the scene at the end with him and Juliet was the best out of the whole episode. It was so real. The emotion there was so powerful that it seemed real. The whole cast and crew did an excellent job and i’m very ready for friday! Woo hoo!

    102. Calila says:

Favorite Psych episode has to be Murder Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? for all the 80s references.

    103. Micki says:

Favorite episode .. Tuesday the 17th is a favorite of mine because of all the horror movie references :)

    104. MELINA RAMIREZ says:

My favorite episode is the Scary Sherry because Shawn and Gus create an Urban Legend

    105. sr says:

‘Favourite’ is a tricky word, isn’t it?
“Zero to Murder in Sixty Seconds” has one of the most poetic criminals ever, ‘Wham! Miranda’. “Spelling Bee” has the banana sequence which my friend and I (who have names rhyming with banana) might never stop laughing at. “Camera, Lights, Homicidio” even if it was only Shawn’s improvised Spanish, would be the episode with the most and loudest laughs. “The Greatest Adventure in the History of Basic Cable” was a fun twist on the way we heard a wonderful story. “Cloudy, Chance of Murder” gave us Hornstock. Hornstock!!!

Until a few months ago, despite all of these brilliant episodes and a few I haven’t mentioned, I would have had to choose “Bounty Hunters” as my favourite episode. It has action, some brilliant, brilliant lines, the camp Tikihama song, close-talking, black-and-white cookies… it’s a practically perfect episode.
But then… “An Evening with Mr Yang”. It’s incredibly tense throughout, yet hysterically funny quite often. Character exploration abounds with so many insights into Shawn that you wonder how they taught you so much without slowing down the story. And Gus’ attempts at humour? Priceless.

So that’s what I’ll have to go with- “an Evening with Mr Yang”

(on the other hand, the season 4 premier, especially after my repeated viewings of “The Princess Bride” over the weekend, looks like it might soon usurp the shaky first place)

    106. sandy says:

my mom introduced me to this show and have only seen a few- loved the disco didn’t die- this show is so funny becuase he is so compulsive

    107. Tracey Byram says:

Great show that I never miss. I really want the bobbleheads to keep my Monk bobblehead company.

    108. amanda says:

I have a toss up! Cloudy With a Chance of Murder is amazing, because Michael Weston is one of the best guest stars ever. He made Psych three times more amazing than usual, and that is DIFFICULT TO PULL OFF. I also love Tuesday the Seventeenth, mostly because I am too afraid to watch something like Friday the Thirteenth, but I still have the hidden desire to do so. I know, at the end of the hour, that things are going to be more or less okay. Happiness!

    109. Amy says:

My favorite episode is “Weekend Warriors” – the Civil War Episode. There is nothing better than this quote:

Receptionist: There is a Lieutenant Crunch here to see you.
      Gus: Crunch?
[Shawn enters, dressed in a Civil War uniform]
Shawn Spencer: Actually, I’ve been promoted. It’s Captain Crunch.

Lol… This whole episode is filled with some of my favorite Psych Quotes.

    110. adienne Gordon says:

i like the dinosaur dig episode

    111. Dones says:

Talk Derby to Me was outstanding for the Xanadu reference, but my favorite episode has to be The Greatest Adventure in the History of Basic Cable. First, it’s based on Goonies. Second, Shawn grows up a bit in this one; he’s taken advantage of, but doesn’t lose his edge, and finally gets the upper hand. I think his dad was prouder of Shawn after this one than in any other episode.

    112. Jenni says:

It’s so hard to pick a favorite. Psych is one of my favorite shows of all time.
I would have to say Spelling Bee. I love the part in the booth reading the grocery list – ba-na-na.
Next would be “Lassie Did a Bad, Bad Thing”. I really enjoy when Lassie has a bigger role and this episode gave him that and he worked with the duo. Very entertaining and funny!
      Psych rules! :)

    113. Leona P says:

      weekend warriors

    114. Casey says:

While I have a lot of favorite episodes, I’d have to say the one that probably tops the list is Lights, Camera…Homocidio. I LOVED the premise of Shawn acting on a cheesy Spanish soap opera. Not to mention all the ‘fans’ he garnered after being on the show for only a few episodes! PLUS they refer back to his Spanish soap opera character in other episodes! There’s so many other goodies in this one…the Spanish version of the Psych theme song, the bad Spanish accents, and one of my favorite Lassiter lines ever! “Hola…me llamo Detective Carleton Lassiter….Me gusta queso.” LOL! Best. line. ever! The fact that so many of the characters were obsessed with watching the Spanish soap opera as well just added to the hilarity. Ahh, a classic.

    115. Vicki Andrew says:

I like all the shows but I really liked the one where they were on the talent show, funny and really over the top. This show is a gem

    116. Brett says:

My favorite episode is probably Black and Tan: A Crime of Fashion when Gus and Shawn Zoolander it up!

    117. Heather says:

My favorite Psych episode would have to be the very first one. Why? Because it’s the episode where I fell in love with the show.

    118. Susan says:

My favorite episode is Lights, Camera … Homicidio because it hit every soap opera cliche. Now matter how many times I watch it, I laugh at every single line.

    119. Joy F says:

I loved the one were they went to the soroity house that they thought was haunted. I love that episode. Thanks.

    120. strunkette says:

It is really so hard to pick just one. I love this show to death and baffle my husband when i laugh out loud while watching. If I had to pick then it would really come down to two.

Shawn (and Gus) of the Dead-the 11 point turn had me rolling on the floor!

Scary Sherry-finding out they started the urban legend, shawn and juliet. I giggle even thinking about it hehe!

    121. Emma S says:

My neice got me started watching this show. I have been watching the repeats and I don’t have a favorite yet. Sorry. The show is great and I am hooked. Thanks.

    122. Angela J says:

No favorite, family member is the big fan

    123. Timothy W. says:

The Greatest Adventure in the History of Basic Cable. Not only did I love it, but my wife and kids did. One of the cleverest episodes I have ever seen. Steven Weber was great (and needs to return.)

I also like Scary Sherry a lot.

      Thanks.

    124. Joel says:

My favorite episode of Psych is Meat Is Murder, But Murder Is Also Murder where they have to pretend the Gus is the psychic in front of his uncle without letting anyone else knowing it is happening.

    125. Geraldine says:

I’d probably say Spellingg Bee because after the ~banana~ scene almost made me pee my pants, I was completely and totally hooked on this show.

    126. Diana Moon says:

Hands down, the best episode, and my favorite, would have to to be “Sixty Five Million Years Off” as it best represents the show. First we get a great flashback that really parallels Shawn & Gus’ future relationship, that while Gus makes the best and geekiest attempt, it’s Shawn’s off the cuff ideas that win everyone over. The kids are adorable and sweet as always.

Then we get our usual out-there 80s references, buddy banter, and crazy murder scene. But what really makes this episode above all the rest? The best shout out to another movie, Holes. It was brilliantly played out, and so naturally done, with Shawn & Gus. I couldn’t stop laughing for ten minutes… Then I had to rewind and laugh again for another then. Also, how often can we say that the DINOSAUR did it and really mean it?

While there are other few fantastic Psych eps (some already named) that really know how to bring in drama and character growth, which I always love in comedy shows, this one just really puts what the show’s about together in one great episode. Also, anytime we get to have our paleo-geek on, it’s awesome.

My size is XXL preferred, and thankfully, I already have season one. =)

    127. Sarah says:

My favorite episode is probably “Black and Tan: A Crime of Fashion”. Everything from Shawn being Black and Gus being Tan to the reveal at the end is just hilarious. I think this was also one of the more difficult crimes to figure out, as you’re led to believe one person is behind it when it’s really someone else. Plus Shawn and Gus acting like models is just too awesome!

    128. Robert says:

My favorite episode is “Black And Tan: A Crime Of Fashion” simply because of Shawn saying: “I’m Black. He’s Tan. I can’t believe you would make the assumption. You should be ashamed of yourself. And your family.”

    129. Jean F says:

I can’t pick a single episode, but I especially enjoy ones showing Shawn interacting with his father.

    130. Shana says:

My favorite episode (ugh there are so many to choose from) would probably be Lights, Camera… Homicido. That episode was classic with Shawn becoming some huge soap star and everyones reaction to him just being everywhere. I loved that running joke during the show and the characters faces as they saw that he was on the show (and was friends with “everyone”!). The scene in the hospital when Juliet and Lassie come in and Shawn and Gus are already there on the visitation list is absolutely classic!

    131. Liz G. says:

I’m a recent convert to Psych, so my selection is still limited. I have to say that the writing is smart, the charachters are well built and the story lines are always funny! My favorite episode (so far) is the Christmas episode where Shawn guesses his father’s present every year and Felicia Rashad guests as Gus’ mother. The episode was such a comedic gem!

    132. Jenny G says:

Absolute favorite is falling in love with your partner/best friend’s sister!

    133. Rebecca says:

I love Daredevils! I absolutely loved when Gus was on a tiny motorbike, and Shawn said, “That is the sexiest thing I have ever seen.”

    134. Bev says:

An Evening with Mr. Yang is currently my favorite episode, with just the right blend of silly (Gus as Michael Jackson & King Kong); and serious (kidnapping).

The spoilers for ‘Shawn Takes a Shot in the Dark’ hint that the new season may bring a new favorite episode.

    135. Jennifer Greene says:

      Season 1, Episode 5: 9 Lives.
I love how sean treated the cat!

    136. Esther Kim says:

My favourite episode is the Spanish telenova one!

    137. Steve Scott says:

I have never seen this but my sister says that it is a great show.

    138. Charlotte C. says:

My favorite episode, hands down, has to be “Murder? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?” No other episode, ever, can compare to this one for me.

To start the episode takes place at Shawn and Gus’ graduation that is just awesome in its own right since, while the episode doesn’t give us a flashback, the whole episode is like a flashback to the high school years of our favorite duo. The thing that really makes the beginning of the episode for me is that unlike most normal high school reunions that are every ten years Psych, in such a typical fashion for them, makes it their thirteenth. It’s anything but ordinary in the “real” world but is perfectly ordinary in the Psych world. I find the whole concept amusing.

There’s also the running theme of “No body, no crime” throughout the episode that’s just “something we say” according to Juliet. I don’t care why they say it because no matter what it’s hilarious to me, mainly because Shawn is annoyed by it and he’s usually the one doing the annoying. Seeing Shawn put off is great just because he gets a little bit of his own medicine in that moment.

I can’t forget the adorably awkward scene with Henry calling Madeleine to see if she wants to have dinner. Henry’s usually gruff and direct so of course I loved seeing him off balance and awkward during that conversation. Then when he says bababoo? Yeah, that was hilariously awkward.

Not only did I find awkward Henry adorable but he was equally adorable when he went up in the attic with Maddie in search of Shawn’s box and found Shawn’s matchbox cars. He was like a little kid in reminiscing about those cars. Seeing Henry looking so fond over a few simple toys was delightful since he really does never show that side and after three seasons it was great to finally see his softer, more content side.

I have to say that I enjoyed when Shawn was thrown into his own embarrassing moment thanks to his parents showing up at his high school reunion. It kind of bounces off the whole episode being a flashback because it’s like the awkward dance where your parents chaperone and then interact with your friends – I think every teenager can relate to that in some way. Seeing Shawn stuck in that situation was absolutely wonderful for a superpsych fan like myself because I could laugh with understanding rather than ridicule. (Plus it’s Shawn being embarrassed by his parents in front of his “peers”! There’s not much better then that.)

“Mindy, it’s official, you’ve won bitchiest banana.” This line has to be one of my favorites of all time. I remember laughing so hard the first time I heard it. I basically missed all the dialogue in the following scene because it made me laugh so hard. Some of Psych’s best lines seem to center around bananas too.

I really enjoyed the introduction of Abby’s character in this ep. Seeing a girl for once take up the role of Shawn’s humor buddy was nice since women usually laugh or look at him like he’s weird but here Abby picked up Shawn’s joke and made her own. I do love this episode for introducing such a great character to us.

I loved the scene where Shawn was doing the dance from Breakfast Club. When he dropped on the vent top and acts like he hurt himself then jumps right back up – it was so Shawn to play up a momentary lapse of movement just long enough to worry Abby.

The episode was hilarious but it also had a few great more emotional and deep moments. One that really stuck out to me was in the car with Henry and Shawn. Henry giving non-case related advice to his son really showed just how far they’ve come in the recent years since Shawn started his charade. The “what defines us is the choice we make in the moment” advice felt like what a father would say to a son in high school, which plays on the fact that the whole episode is like a flashback.

Lassiter more or less covering for what Shawn, Juliet, and Gus were up to was so awesome. For once Lassiter helped Shawn and Gus out in a simple situation instead of making their lives harder and giving them up to the Chief. It was great to see and also speaks to the fact that Shawn and Lassie have surpassed loathing and moved onto acceptance of one another.

I loved the standout moment where Gus gets owned when Shawn made him drop into the basement through a window despite all protests. Meanwhile, Shawn walks around and enters the basement through the door. The look Gus gives him is priceless and had me feeling for poor Gus getting one pulled over on him again. I have to say that while I was feeling for him I was chuckling too.

One of my all time favorite classic scenes came about in this episode. I’m talking about the discovery of the body “hidden” in the saber cat costume. First Shawn and Gus poke the costume so see if it’s their body and I’ve never found the poking of a body done with so much humor. Then Shawn and Gus had to “hide” the body for themselves to make sure the bad guys didn’t come back and whisk it away before the reveal. So they picked up the body and carried it through the halls to the gym and of course Shawn stops mid-stride to flirt with the girls in the hallway, which serves to send me over the hill and into a fit of laughter each and every time.

When Shawn was talking to Abby at the end of the episode about why he never showed up at the pier that night I couldn’t believe how unsettled he was and how in the moment he was instead of trying to live the moment. It’s such a rarity to see Shawn so blatantly out of his element and honest and I soaked it in while I could.

The “pretty much perfect” kiss between Abby and Shawn made for such a beautiful, emotional scene with On and On by The Longpigs playing in the background. The scene and music meshed amazingly well.

I also can’t forget Shawn’s speech for Gus at the end. It was amazing to see Shawn finally pay Gus due respect and acknowledge just how much he helps him out on cases and in life in general.

I still don’t feel like I’ve captured just how much I love “Murder? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?” but for all the aforementioned reasons and so many more this is definitely my favorite episode.

    139. Dana Hammell says:

I love all of them but I like the episode when Gus was a fashion model

    140. Richard says:

i like “An Evening with mr Yang” because O’Hara finally asks Shawn out. Unfortunately he was trying to rekindle with his old high school ex, but still it was nice to see O’Hara finallly taking a chance with Shawn.

Plus it had a creepy, serial killer plot that kept me on the edge. i found it to be more suspenseful then some of the other episodes. Gus also had a few pretty good lines here and there.

    141. pat says:

      Murder? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

It was so funny. And Lassie has such a good time buststing, arrersting, and processing his date. And Sean hooked up with his old flame. Really hard picking a favorite, they are all so great.

    142. r0berts says:

With a nod toward the passing of John Hughes, it would be “Murder…Anyone? Anyone? Beuller??”

    143. Meredith Rowe says:

My favorite episdode of Psych is Disco Didn’t Die. It was Murdered. I have to say, though, that every episode is awesome!! Great writers! Truly one of the best shows on tv!

    149. lynn clayton says:

    154. Peter says:

Weekend Warriors, this episode really was the turning point for the actors. I think each was trying to find out who the character really was and how each should be with the other.

    155. Anabel Sanchez says:

My favorite episode is “An evening with Mr. Yang.” I love this episode because it brought forth a different side of the characters. They were able to express the other side of their personalities. Shawn became the more serious and focused person, while Gus became the funny and goofy person. It was a great episode because it showed how the characters could cope with stress and chaos by acting different than normal. Gus is usually the most reserved, and it was funny and great to see him out of his element just to help out his best friend. It showed that their friendship was genuine, and that Gus would do anything in order to help Shawn, even do imitations and act like King Kong.

This episode is also my favorite because it is different than the others. All the episodes are very comical, but this episode brought a perfect balance of comedy and seriousness.

    156. Daniel M says:

Murder? … Anyone? … Anyone? … Bueller? – liked the flashbacks to ‘back when’

    157. Erica C. says:

My favorite episode is the Spelling Bee…so funny!

    158. Jaque says:

I can’t think of a single episode that didn’t make me laugh until I cried….I love Psych and miss it when it is not on. One of my favorite episodes was “9 Lives”, when Shawn pretends to receive information from the victim’s cat…and he makes Gus sit in the back seat because the cat is important to the investigation. I’m starting to giggle thinking about that episode. :-)

Oh!…and “Meat Is Murder, But Murder Is Also Murder”, hysterical as Gus poses as the psychic to impress his uncle….ok, I could go on for quite some time about this, but will not, lucky you.

      Thank you.

I love this show! Picking a favorite episode is hard since they are all hilarious! But, if I had to pick one it would be Scary Sherry: Bianca’s Toast ! Shawn and Gus are hilarious running away from the house! LOL ! This is the best show on television in a long time! My family and I can’t wait to spot the pineapple in each episode and see what name Shawn introduces Gus as! my favorites are Gus Silly Pants Jackson and Knick Knack!!!! Good, clean, funny show!

    165. Leann S says:

High Noon-ish is my favorite episode.

    166. Hilary says:

Alright, my favorite episode would have to be “Lights, Camera,… Homicido.” It is absolutely FANTASTIC! I can’t explain how much I love all the Spanish with subtitles, the it’s-so-bad-but-I-can’t-stop-watching Spanish soap opera (none the less, Gus and Henry LOVE it to no end). I love when Gus gets into everything, just because it’s his favorite show (and he has to know what happens with all the characters). And Shawn gets a part in the show, gets a fanbase for the like, the few episodes he’s in very quickly, he acts normal. It’s just so hilarious. I love every scene on the soap opera set. And Lassie says on of my favorite lines me: “Hola. Me llamo Carlton Lassiter. Me gusta queso.” So random, but SO PERFECT! Also, the chick with the giant boobs, she’s crazy and awesome. As is Shawn’s face in all that make-up.

    167. Joanna says:

I have to say that there are too many great episodes to pick just ONE favorite, but one of my favorites is “Cloudy… With a Chance of Murder”. It is just amazing! I love how Shawn just dominates in the courtroom, how Gus badgers their own client because he always wanted to be a lawyer, and the guy who plays the real lawyer is great. Also, at the end, when everyone wanted to help Shawn get his bike back… Aawwww.

    168. Joe Johnson says:

How do you pick one? “Black and Tan,” “American Duos,” “The Old and the Restless” (with Curtis Armstrong and one of the first “Real Genius” allusions). However, the one episode that is infinitely fresh is “Lights, Camera… Homicidio.” From the opening theme song to the improv to the season 3 reference to Chad in “On Any Given Friday Night.”

Now, please send me this killer giveaway. Val Kilmer wants me to have this.

It made me cry as I watched the wonderful acting (“He’s got my mom.”) It made me laugh with all of it’s typical jokes and gags (“I want pancakes. Whipped butter, maple syrup, what~?”). And it made me pee my pants in anticipation and suspence (“Dad, she’s strapped.”) All in all it was an AMAZING episode and my favorite, hands down.

    202. Debbie E says:

American Duos. It may have been a bit bloated & over-the-top, but w/ such a spot-on parody I couldn’t help loving it. Plus, the Shawn & Gus performance was the ultimate Psych-out.

    203. Melissa D says:

      Shawn Spencer: You take cats?
Wes Hiltonbock: Uh, yeah, I guess so. You two guys have a cat?
Shawn Spencer: We do, actually. It sort of like our child.
Wes Hiltonbock: I see. How you guys, uh, know each other?
      Burton ‘Gus’ Guster: We’re partners.
      Wes Hiltonbock: Gotcha.
Burton ‘Gus’ Guster: Oh, no, no.
Wes Hiltonbock: It’s fine, really, I’m totally fine.
Burton ‘Gus’ Guster: No, we’re partners in our private…
Shawn Spencer: – relationship. Believe it, it’s been a while. We finish each other’s sentences. So, tell me, Wes, uh, why would you want to give up such a handsome apartment? Do you, uh, do you not like it anymore? Ooh, Gus, good news, shower for two.
      Wes Hiltonbock: Uh.
