If you’ve never watched GREEK, I feel like there might actually be something wrong with the chemical make up of your brain. It’s a smart, witty and hilarious show that needs your attention.
I’ve been one of the lucky ones that has been on the GREEK train since the beginning (almost) – I came in 7 episodes after it began and quickly fell in love with all those miscreants at Cyprus-Rhodes University.
If you’re thinking, “Oh I don’t like frats or sororities and I’m not really a fan of drinking” then welcome to my world! I went into the show very wary and expecting to hate almost everyone but hell if I didn’t have the opposite reaction!
There’s something for everyone on GREEK. There are the hot sorority girls, the hot sorority boys, the geeks, the nerds, the bitch, the jock, the class clown, the requisite rich girl, and even a handful of gays! That’s right… GAYS!
GREEK has done a great job at breaking stereotypes and representing diversity both as a show and as a college experience. While Rebecca Logan started off as just a spoiled rich bitch, she’s turned into of the most interesting and complex characters on the show. Calvin Owens was a star athlete every frat wanted who ended up being gay and it never really mattered. Casey Cartwright has gone from being the Elle Woods-lite sorority leader to an ambitious woman with sites on a big career. Then there’s Rusty and the Kappa Tau’s. They’re a rag-tag group of near flunkies that live to spite the richy rich frat boys of Omega Chi.
Tonight brings GREEK back for a new season and new school year. The premiere made me happy and pissed me off at the same time. Don’t get me wrong – I loved every second of it but some of these kids just drive me batty!
Rusty, Dale and Calvin are no longer the new kids on the block and big changes are in store. There’s requited love, new found romance, lying and even some cheating in store for the kids at CRU so you do not want to miss how it all plays out.
