Tonight’s episode of GLEE was no “Preggers” (and few things ever will be) but it was one hell of a cramazing episode in its own right!
I don’t really have time to recap the episode or write up some big gushy love fest because believe me I could go on and on about GLEE but I had to quick get my giddy as a school girl lovey dovey sensation into blog form before my trip.
This show is just so damn fresh and entertaining that sometimes my mouth hurts way before I realize I’ve been inadvertently smiling like a fool!
How could I not love an episode that involved Kristin Chenoweth (PUSHING DAISIES R.I.P.), a killer CABARET duet between Cheno and Lea Michele, and songs from both Heart and Queen? Brills!
But the real reason I wanted to write something is because of the killer line they gave Emma this week.
She tells Will a story about how she looked up an old high school flame named Andy and how it went terribly wrong… Everything was fine then she broke it off and two weeks later Versace was dead.
Almost instantly, I shit my pants at the horribly genius pop culture reference!
The fact that Emma was partially responsible for Versace’s death is one of the most perfectly wrong things I’ve ever heard in my life! If you’re scratching your head, still not getting the joke then hit the google. Andrew “Andy” Cunanan was responsible for the murder of Gianni Versace on the steps of his Miami mansion in 1997.
I tip my hat to you and your twisted writing staff GLEE!

Here’s a sneak peek at this week’s episode of THE VAMPIRE DIARIES. The episode is entitled “Family Ties” and if I’m being completely honest, I cannot frakkin’ wait! TVD has become one of my favorite shows this Fall and I’m happy to report that it has overcome the “guilty pleasure” moniker. It’s damn good shit!
THE VAMPIRE DIARIES “Family Ties” Episode Summary:
Elena (Nina Dobrev) asks Stefan (Paul Wesley) to escort her to the town’s annual Founder’s Party. Vicki (Kayla Ewell) gets Tyler (Michael Trevino) to ask her to the party, then accuses him of trying to hide their relationship from his family. Zach (guest star Chris William Martin) reveals a useful family secret to Stefan. At the party, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) tells Elena a story about the Salvatore family’s past, leaving Elena with questions that Stefan refuses to answer. Finally, Stefan takes action to get Damon out of his life for good.
When I was in LA I was lucky enough to see the cold open for this week’s episode of SUPERNATURAL entitled “The End”.
As you’ll see from the pictures and preview below, Dean’s doing a little timewarp from 2009 to 2014 and in the future there’s a little bit of infected human/zombie action. You’ll also notice that this episode marks the return of “Croatoan“. That’s never a good thing. That pesky plague can wipe out a town overnight so look out Winchesters – you remember what happened back in Season 2 don’t you?
Will “The End” mark the beginning of the actual end for Sam and Dean Winchester? Will the re-emergence of Croatoan bring back anything from Season 2? How will Cas handle what appears to be his new role as Gaius Baltar? Those wacky fallen angels…
I cannot wait for this week’s episode and all I have to say is that my beach house in the Hamptons better have some CW! Yes, I’m going away again… deal with it!
SUPERNATURAL “The End” Episode Summary:
Sam (Jared Padalecki) tells Dean (Jensen Ackles) he wants to rejoin Dean in the battle of the Apocalypse, but Dean tells Sam that they are better off apart. Later, Dean awakens five years in the future in an abandoned city and is attacked by humans who have been infected with a demonic virus that turns humans into Zombies. Zachariah (guest star Kurt Fuller) appears to Dean and explains that this is the world that exists as a result of Dean saying no to helping the angels fight Lucifer. Dean meets up with Future Dean, who tells him that the virus is the Devil’s endgame for destroying mankind. Misha Collins also stars. Steve Boyum directed the episode written by Ben Edlund (#504).

Tonight’s episode of GLEE entitled “Preggers” is an episode i’ve watched 5x already and cannot wait to see again! It is hands down the best episode of the series to date and I dare Ryan Murphy and Co. to top it in the future.
I know there are some people that questioned the genius that is GLEE after last week’s episode but I beg each and every one of you naysayers to tune in tonight and not love every second of “Preggers”.
There are piss yourself hilarious moments, there are some incredible snarktastic lines, some great music and one of the sweetest moments I’ve seen on television this year.
If the adorakable Chris Colfer who plays Kurt Hummel wasn’t your favorite person on earth, he will be after tonight’s daring and hilarious episode. That kid just made me melt with tonight’s episode and I had no shame telling him that at last week’s FOX Fall Kick Off Party! J’adore…
Here’s a preview of “Preggers”:
Obviously there is more to the episode than Kurt Hummel’s journey. Finn proves once again that not only is he adorable and semi-simple minded, he’s open and accepting. Sue gets a spot on the local news and coins a hilarious catchphrase/gesticulation. Sandy returns and helps Sue’s plot to ruin Glee Club by any means necessary. Oh and that title is telling isn’t it? Just wait til you see how that plays out…
I have one line for you: “Put a ring on it on three!”
Tonight ABC pulls out their big comedy (and dramedy) guns with the premieres of MODERN FAMILY, COUGAR TOWN and EASTWICK.
MODERN FAMILY is my favorite comedy of the new fall season (well, aside from GLEE). It features an ensemble cast of seasoned TV actors and some of the sharpest, gut busting dialogue I’ve witnessed in a long time. I’ve watched the pilot 4x already and find new subtleties with each viewing. Not only is it laugh out loud funny, there’s one particular moment toward the end of the episode that is spit-take worthy.
FAMILY will hopefully catapult Ty Burrell to the greatness he’s been deserved of for years now. There are moments in tonight’s episode that make me love that man more than I already did. From being the best worst Dad to his knowledge of a certain “Go Wildcats” moment to his inability to understand Spanglish… Ty Burrell will have you in stitches. The other big breakout performance is that of Eric Stonestreet who plays the drama queen Cameron. FUCKING GENIUS!
Please trust me and tune in to tonight’s MODERN FAMILY premiere at 9pm… it’s cramazing!
At 9:30pm, ABC premieres the long awaited return of Courtney Cox to primetime television with COUGAR TOWN. While COUGAR TOWN is not on par with MODERN FAMILY, it has a lot of laughs and has plenty of promise.
Courtney Cox plays a 40-something divorcee with a failing real estate business and an even worse love life. Christa Miller (Scrubs) plays her married, bitter, next door neighbor married to Ian Gomez (Felicity). It’s stale, its predictable and their relationship is hilarious. On her other shoulder is the devil that be Busy Phillips (Freaks & Geeks), her younger co-worker that encourages the worst behavior imaginable. Then there’s her innocent and adorkable son Travis played by the amazing Andy Byrd (Aliens in America) and her hottie neighbor Josh Hopkins.
COUGAR TOWN is well worth checking out. It has a great cast with some okay writing that I hope quickly rises to the level of the actors, making this must see TV.
At 10pm is the premiere of EASTWICK, a retelling of John Updike’s novel THE WITCHES OF EASTWICK starring Rebecca Romijn as Roxanne, Jaime Ray Newman as Kat, Lindsay Price as Joanna and Paul Gross as Daryl Van Horne. The real treat are recurring actors Sara Rue (Popular, Less Than Perfect) and the smokin’ hot and shirtless in the pilot Matt Dallas (Kyle XY).
If you’re thinking that they already did this once before, you’d be correct. In 1992, I watched the short-lived TV remake starring Catherine Mary Stewart from the crazy great 80s horror film NIGHT OF THE COMET! It wasn’t so good.
This remake is better and shows some promise (sorry that’s not the most ringing endorsement). The pilot is a pilot… it’s a little clunky, has some exposition issues and some forced situations and some awkward chemistry. The good thing is that there’s humor, some sex, some charm and something endearing about this new EASTWICK that will at least have me watching for a couple weeks.
EASTWICK is a retelling so some of the character names have been changed, some jobs have been changed and obviously Paul Gross is no Jack Nicholson… That’s okay though. I like that ABC is taking the premise and running with it. I’ve been told by an EASTWICK insider that the show really finds its footing in the subsequent episodes and that people will really grow to love Paul Gross as van Horne. I’ve seen some of the new footage and I will testify that Gross was more charming and charismatic than I originally gave him credit for. Stick with EASTWICK for a couple weeks and together we’ll see if it makes the Fall lineup or not on a more permanent basis.
I don’t know about you but anything LOST related that can help tame the beast until LOST airs its final season this spring is welcomed. Mysteries is a 5 part video series made possible in part by Kia’s newest vehicle the Kia Forte.
Listed as “the first of its kind” there’s really no better tag-line that could describe both the Forte and LOST.
“There have been many firsts throughout time. Like the invention of the engine, the first vehicle to be incredibly safe, the first vehicle to be incredibly powerful. There have been many designers that mastered their craft. There have been plenty of technological innovations such as satellite radio, MP3 devices and Bluetooth. As an automotive company, we weren’t the first at any of these. But when it comes to putting all of this into a compact car, we are pioneers. The Forte. The first of its kind.”
In an effort to spread the word about LOST and the new Kia Forte, we’re partnering up to offer people who become a fan of the new Kia Forte on Facebook an opportunity to win a $25 iTunes gift card.
Please take a minute to learn more about the new Kia Forte on Facebook and leave a comment here on Ducky Does TV once you’ve “fanned” the page to be eligible to win the #25 iTunes Gift Card!
Last week, GMMR and I spent the day on the set of CHUCK! Some people may have thought CHUCK was canceled after it wasn’t on the Fall lineup but if you did your homework you would know that CHUCK Season 3 will premiere March 2010 after the Olympics (if not sooner).
Kath and I were joking going into the day that if we saw Season 3 guest star Brandon Routh (aka Superman), I’d probably just fall over with the vapors… never thinking he would actually be there.
What do we discover within two seconds of walking on set? That it was Brandon Routh’s first day of shooting! Within minutes, that tall drink of water stepped into view and my knees buckled. Let me tell you, that man can wear some pants! HELLO!
While we can’t tell you who the ex-man of steel will be playing, it’s already out there that he’s on CHUCK for a 6 episode stint. As it was his first day of shooting we sadly didn’t get any interview time with him but he did introduce himself and was sweet as can be. I’m really excited to see what he brings to the show and how his role impacts some of our favorite characters. We watched him film a couple scenes and it looks like he’s going to be a busy boy this season.
The episode we saw them filming was Episode 3×04 or 3×05 (watch it be 3×03 – its like my own personal Memento up in here – short term memory loss much?) and it pains me that I can’t reveal anything about the episode. Needless to say we were spoiled on a few key plot points and had to ask a few questions about how the characters got to where they are in the episode but it was well worth it.
Throughout the day we got to interview the principal cast (Zac Levi, Yvonne Strahovski and Adam Baldwin), take some pictures of some new sets and even chatted with General Beckman (Bonita Friedericy).
We’ve got a long way to go before CHUCK premieres and we want to make sure Bartowski, the Buy More and the rest of the gang stay fresh in your mind until we get closer to the premiere.
I know you want all the information now but you’re going to have to hold tight. Kath and I will be releasing our interviews with the cast slowly over time via The TV Talk Podcast.
In the meantime check out some of our pics with the cast and from our day on the set of NBC’s CHUCK.
Stay tuned to the TV Talk Podcast for more information and interviews with the cast of CHUCK Season 3.
Remember when Thursday night was a bat-shit crazy night of television. NBC owned the night and the counter programming was pretty fierce as well. Last season for some reason, I only watched a couple shows on Thursday’s and while I was happy to have some free time in my TV schedule, I kinda missed the chaos.
Tonight, the Fall Season starts to get really hectic! To make things even more chaotic for me, I’m in LA and can’t watch most of it because tonight I’ll be chillin’ with the final 3 crews of AMERICA’S BEST DANCE CREW!
Last week, The CW premiered THE VAMPIRE DIARIES to huge numbers. It was the biggest series premiere the network had ever seen and I’m happy to report I fucking love the show. Listen to our CW Fall Preview Podcast for more on why I’m totally addicted to TVD! SUPERNATURAL’s Season 5 premiere was crazy good and seriously, having the Winchesters back is like a little slice of heaven (or hell) right here on earth.
Tonight the premieres of SURVIVOR: SAMOA, BONES, PARKS & RECREATION, THE OFFICE, COMMUNITY and FRINGE little the landscape.
I was super excited for COMMUNITY but didn’t love it. It’s got a lot of promise but the pilot falls a little flat and reads quirky for quirks-sake. I’ve always been a huge fan of SURVIVOR so I’m psyched to see the newest castaways battle it out this season. THE OFFICE is always there for a good laugh and I can’t wait to see what expecting parents Jim & Pam do about telling the rest of Dunder Mifflin. I’ve had the BONES season premiere for a couple weeks but have been too busy to watch. Cannot wait! The FRINGE Season 2 premiere is one of the best hours of television I’ve watched so far this fall. Killer shit happens and I’m so glad that the Fringe Science Division is back in action (or is it?)!
What are you watching tonight and are you at all worried about having so many shows up against each other? I hate that the networks have pitted FRINGE against SUPERNATURAL. I love both shows and forcing genre fans to choose between the two is just bullshit. I’m obviously going to watch SUPERNATURAL live and watch FRINGE at a later date as the season plays out but damn… Just remember that GREY’S and PRIVATE PRACTICE are still to debut. Oy Vey!
Check out the cast of FRINGE as they prepare for a Season 2 promotional photo shoot! There are some great shots and some fun video of the gang speaking in their native tongues – yes some of them are not American. You knew that though, right? Please say yes…
The Season 2 premiere is pretty amazing. Not only do we find out what happened after Olivia went to visit Spock, we also meet a new FBI agent who hopefully will become an ally to our Fringe team. Look for more intrigue and suspicion surrounding Nina Sharp and Agent Broyles. Look for the return of Olivia’s sister. Look for one hell of a car crash and look for some semi-nasty bone structure to come into play. Oh, and it wouldn’t be FRINGE without a crazy killer ending!
I was very happy with how the premiere plays out and I hope you’ll be just as excited as I am to have the Bishop boys and Agent Dunham back!
BONES Season 5 premieres tonight and this video is just adorable. Here’s the cast of Bones shaking their thing groove thing to Oingo Boingo’s “Dead Man’s Party”.
Having just seen some of these lovelies in person the other night, I’m imagining myself dancing with them at the Fox Fall party… a boy can dream. Seriously, I got a little weak when I ran into David Boreanaz. That’s one stunning man up close and personal. Emily Deschanel, crazy beautiful!
Don’t miss the season premiere tonight which features guest star Cyndi Lauper as a psychic!
It’s time to sit down and chat about ABC’s Fall 2009 lineup which means GMMR and Ducky are about to talk lizards, time travel, cougars, witches, Frasier and our favorite new comedy of the year.
Take a load off and listen to us chat up THE FORGOTTEN, HANK, THE MIDDLE, MODERN FAMILY, COUGAR TOWN, EASTWICK, FLASHFORWARD, and V!
*Please be warned that we do talk some mild spoilers for each of the new shows.
GMMR and Ducky are in Los Angeles and this podcast is dedicated to all the crazy sexy cool people we eyed at the FOX Fall Eco-Casino Party.
We got to be in the presence of FOX greatness… the cast of GLEE, DOLLHOUSE, BONES, SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE, FRINGE, LIE TO ME, SONS OF TUSCON, TIL DEATH and more!
We know this podcast will sound name droppy and kinda douchey, just embrace it – we did!
*Recorded 9/7/09

If you listened to our CW Preview podcast, you know I’m mildly in love with the new MELROSE PLACE.
Tonight’ episode “Nightingale” still finds the houseguests wondering WTF? after the Sydney murder, Lauren still on the fence about riding the hospital hottie for tuition money and Ella trying to secure her professional future by landing a hot new client.
Check out two preview clips from MELROSE PLACE “Nightingale”:
PS – They should be thanking their lucky stars they scored Katie Cassidy – she’s doing some of her best work up in the hood.
Fall TV is finally starting to kick into gear and tonight, NBC premieres one of my television staples, THE BIGGEST LOSER.
I was late to the LOSER game and only started watching with Season 4 but that doesn’t mean I’m not completely obsessed and a die-hard fan. I laugh, I cry and I get really pissed with the contestants each season and tonight’s premiere was no different.
We see the 16 contestants that will battle it out on the ranch and before introductions are even made, they are forced into a challenge that sends two of the contestants to the hospital. Introductions are made and this season we’ve got ex-athletes, kids with junkie parents, people battling weight their entire lives, people wanting to lose weight for kids, a firefighter, and a woman that lost her entire family in a car accident.
Teams are picked, a big training twist makes me incredibly happy and I may or may not have had tears streaming down my face thanks to one Ms. Jilliian Michaels.
This season is all about “second chances” but really it’s a life or death situation for many of these contestants. If you thought last season brought the biggest guy and girl ever, just wait until you see some of the initial weigh ins tonight. You’ll be shocked (as Bob & Jill were) to see that we’ve barely scratched the surface.
Of the 4 season premieres I’ve watched for this show, this might be my favorite. It goes above and beyond the traditional introductions and niceties and gets down to business before the first commercial break.
Without spoiling anything, I will give you my two favorite lines from the premiere and tell me which trainer said which quote.
Quote 1:
“You know why you can’t quit? Because you weight over 470 pounds so get on that fucking treadmill!”
Quote 2:
“Everytime you lay down I’m gonna think ‘Dead Father’ – GET UP!”
Here’s a preview of tonight’s THE BIGGEST LOSER 8 Premiere:
