It’s Friday night which means we should be watching CBS’s vamp thriller MOONLIGHT. Sadly, they are still on hiatus but that doesn’t mean we should take a Friday night off from swooning over the hotness that is Alex O’Loughlin.

Here are some behind the scenes photos from a seaside shoot for the upcoming episode entitled “Fated to Pretend” which is scheduled to air on April 25th at 9:00PM EST.

MOONLIGHT airs tonight and while I’m still not watching, I’m psyched to see that the show has continued to maintain it’s audience and that tonight Shannyn Sossoman returns.

If you’re new to the show, here’s a primer video.

    MOONLIGHT For Dummies

Tonight’s episode is “The Ringer” - Mick experiences déjà vu when a fire investigation that destroys a historic Hollywood hotel seemingly replicates the night Coraline died. Mick’s sense of nostalgia grows when a woman he is working with bares a striking resemblance to his ex-wife, on MOONLIGHT, Friday, Nov. 9 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT). Check out pictures from “The Ringer” at Daemon’s TV.

I’m not even watching MOONLIGHT anymore but I know a lot of you are so I wanted to start giving you the clips, descriptions, etc. again.

Here is a clip from tonight’s episode entitled “B.C.” in which Mick finds himself working with Beth again when the search for a mysterious vampire from Josef’s past is linked to a drug overdose she is investigating.

The METRO did a story on JASON DOHRING yesterday that I forgot to post. It’s pretty good. The headlines sadly made him sound like a complete self-absorbed ass but in the context of the story, you knew they were jokes. I hate that, why set him up like that? Douches.

You can tell a lot about a man by the shoes on his feet — or, in actor Jason Dohring’s case, the shirt on his back. In his “Veronica Mars” days on UPN/The CW, Dohring was a connoisseur of Los Angeles resale shops. Now that he’s starring in the new CBS vampire drama “Moonlight,” it’s all Beverly Hills and Giorgio Armani.

“I decided to show off my quasi-wealth,” he says with a wry grin, wearing a striped, collared designer number.

Showing a little of that sarcastic, cocky side actually turned out to be a good thing for the 25-year-old.

“I had been [acting] for a while, and I always liked it, but there was a point where it was like, ‘That’s it — I’m gonna be awesome. I’m not messing around anymore,’” Dohring says.

His “Veronica Mars” character, Logan Echolls, was arrogant, with an endless sense of entitlement, but one of the most conflicted and memorable teenagers on the small screen in recent years. When the critically lauded series was canceled, Dohring says he felt unemployment panic.

“I worried more than was warranted,” he says. “Actors always worry about their next job, even when they have three lined up.”

He was offered the part of Josef Konstantin in a flurry of last minute recasting for “Moonlight.”

“[Producer] Joel Silver had this character rewritten from a 60-year-old Croatian guy to a 23-year-old, and they thought of me,” Dohring says, a lingering hint of pleasant surprise in his voice.

As Josef, Dohring portrays the dark, sexy, Anne Rice side of vampire lore. He’s countered by the series’ lead, reluctant bloodsucker and good-guy private investigator Mick St. John (Alex O’Loughlin), who even goes so far as to inject blood to suppress his instincts. Josef will have none of that.

“Hell no, Josef doesn’t inject blood,” Dohring says. “He mainlines. He has concubines around him at all times that he drinks from. … He’s a billionaire hedge fund trader.”

He sounds like an Armani guy, too.

Moonlight airs at 9 p.m. over on CBS

It’s a Tuesday afternoon and I’m getting ready to transcribe my Interview with SUPERNATURAL’s LAUREN COHAN so I thought I’d quickly link and talk about what the latest internet buzz is surrounding our favorite TV shows.

My favorite GOSSIP GIRL has been given a full 22 episode season by The CW. That’s one down for Josh Schwartz and another to go. Chuck’s a lock, right? I guess I don’t need to check myself into the Ostroff Center after all! xoxo Gossip Girl. (Source: TVGuide)

    Moonlight Header

MOONLIGHT had it’s debut tonight on CBS and while I didn’t watch, I’ve already received a few emails from you guys saying how much you enjoyed it, faults and all.

Read my MOONLIGHT Pilot Review and then tell me what you thought. Is it vampy goodness? Is Jason Dohring the best thing about the show? Is Alex O’Loughlin the next swoon worthy actor on Prime-time? Does it last a whole season? Is it canceled after 4 hours? Tell me what you thought!

As many of my blogging cohorts did, I also recieved the newly revamped (get it, ahhhh… sorry) pilot episode of CBS’s much buzzed Vampire Private Eye show MOONLIGHT.

    Moonlight Cast Photo Header

Back in May I was excited that a Vampire show could make it to one of the big three but then the turmoil began with reorganization and recasting. Lucky for Moonlight, the recast took the show from maybe I’ll tune in - to I cannot wait to see this almost instantly. Why you ask? The casting of Veronica Mars’ Jason Dohring and Shannyn Sossamon. “Dud to Stud” as Seat42F called it back in July while we all attended the Comic-Con panel (click here for Comic-Con Moonlight pictures).

Granted, this was all based on speculation of course as none of us had seen even a frame of the recast pilot. That is, until now.

Last night after a session of babysitting (don’t ask), I sat down to watch the DVD that had been burning a hole in my entertainment center for 24 hours already. I have good news and bad news. I know, you just cringed as I did while watching the Pilot.

    The Good News:
Jason Dohring rocks the Pilot and is honestly the best part of Moonlight. Yes there is a little bit of Logan’s cockiness there, but Josef is in a completely different league. He’s powerful and wise not to mention successful and sure of himself. He’s a grown up version of the bad boy we know and love without being just another incarnation of Logan, if that makes sense.

Jason has two scenes in the Pilot and the first one is a little weak but the second scene is what forms my opinion of Dohring in the role. He’s almost scary how certain and powerful he is and the conviction in his voice is really tasty.

    The Okay:
Alex O’Loughlin is charismatic and really hot in person but on the show it’s not fully coming across. I think he can pull off the lead, we just need to see more of him in action. At the moment, he’s a little stiff but I feel that this is attributed to the writing, not the acting.

The over-arching storyline is fine. I’m okay with there being another Vamp Detective on the television landscape but I’m a little weary of where they’ll go with it. It’s established that Mick St. John was sired by his ex-wife Coraline and that his pal Josef is wicked old. Mick’s also the vamp with a conscience who shoots up morgue blood heroine style to get his fix instead of feasting on humans. The three of them have lived long lives as vamps but Mick is the youngest of the crew and the one not trying to be more human. Coraline is your run of the mill evil to the core chick and Josef we’re not really sure about yet. It’s made semi-clear that Vamp secrecy and mythology must remain underwraps at almost any means necessary but Mick doesn’t seem to be on board with that theory.

    Spoilers Ahead…

MOONLIGHT promos have been out for a while, but all of them either featured the original pilot cast, just the main character, or were so cryptic you couldn’t tell if they were from the new and improved cast or not.

I’m happy to announce that the first MOONLIGHT Promo Video with JASON DOHRING is out!

Thanks to DaemonsTV.com for tipping me off!

    Preview:

Premise: Mick St. John is a captivating, charming- and immortal- private investigator from Los Angeles who defies the traditional blood-sucking norms of his vampire tendencies by using his wit and powerful supernatural abilities to help the living.

In a life-altering twist of fate, Mick was “bitten” 60 years ago by his new bride, the seductive Coraline. Forever 30 years of age, Mick’s as handsome and charismatic as the day he was “turned,” and he eschews others of his kind who view humans only as a source of nourishment. With only a handful of like-minded confidantes for company, including the eternally young, wealthy and mischievous Josef, a hedge fund trader who relishes his uniqueness, Mick fills his infinite days protecting the living.

But one night years ago, a single act of kindness changed Mick when he saved a young girl’s life, making him want to be a better vampire. Now their paths cross again and Mick develops a distinctive bond with Beth Turner who has grown into a beautiful, ambitious Internet investigative reporter.

Reconnecting with her unleashes feelings Mick knows he can’t pursue without exposing the part of him that would make him a monster in Beth’s eyes. As Mick lives between two realities, fighting his adversaries among the undead and falling in love, he discovers the mysteries and pleasures that a valuable life has to offer.

Ducky’s Thoughts: When they decided to recast and added Jason Dohring (Logan we’ll never forget you) and Shannyn Sossamon, I was an immediate fan. The Comic-Con panel with the cast was so much fun and the promos they showed us were great. I got the original press kit for Moonlight and enjoyed what I saw but I cannot wait to get my hands on the new Pilot with the new cast.

Mick St. John has the possibility of becoming one of the most charming characters on television this fall. Jason Dohring will eat up the scenery with his portrayal of Josef and I cannot wait to see the strife between Coraline and Mick!

So in a nutshell, MOONLIGHT is a great addition to the fall lineup and I cannot wait for it to premiere!

The preview above is before the recast and CBS has yet to release the official new promo with Jason, Shannyn and Co. The second I can get my hands on it, I will have it here for you guys and gals to swoon over.

    MOONLIGHT: Interview With A Vampire

    Moonlight Interview Poster

Moonlight has quickly become one of the must-see Fall TV shows and if you don’t believe me, watch the clip above and then read my Moonlight Comic-Con report. Tell me you’re not intrigued.

    MOONLIGHT Preview: Comic-Con Day 2

    Moonlight CBS

As fast as I wasn’t excited for MOONLIGHT on CBS, I was when they fired half the cast and decided to do a major reshoot of the pilot. Added were Jason Dohring and Shannyn Sossamon and Exec. Producer David Greenwalt, a winning combo! The vampire private investigator that sounded like a rehash all the sudden had bite.

How sad was I when yesterday we find out that David Greenwalt had to drop out of the show for medical reasons? I couldn’t wait to see how Joel Silver handled this information at the Moonlight panel and seeing Jason Dohring again wasn’t bad either.

The panel began with an extended Interview with a Vampire (you’ve seen parts of it on CBS already I’m sure). This lasted a good 5 minutes and had clips thrown in to accompany some of the answers that lead vamp Mick St. John talks about. This clip had the entire place sold instantly. It’s such a funny and witty promo piece that really gives you great insight into the character of Mick. I also like to think that it says a lot for the show as a whole.

He’s sassy, witty, dangerous, cocky as hell and seriously damn good looking. Actor Alex O’Laughlin is one fine piece of Aussie ass! He’s a doppleganger for Patrick Dempsey but with fangs instead of a scalpel. The show looks dark, romantic, action packed, hip, and incredibly cool. It’s about time we had a new vamp fix. Angel’s been gone way too long! Can I get an AMEN?

A quick break down of the characters:
