Vote For PUSHING DAISIES As Best Comedy - People’s Choice Awards

USA Today is reporting that NBC won’t let threats from the WGA and Actors spoil their planned festivities for the January 13th telecast of the Golden Globes.

NBC said Sunday that it would air the Golden Globes Awards as scheduled Jan. 13, despite plans by striking Writers Guild of America members to picket the Los Angeles ceremony. The planned pickets sparked fears that nominees would boycott the ceremony and hurt ratings and led to early discussions about canceling the broadcast of the annual movie and TV awards given by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. Actors also have been leery about appearing on late-night talk shows affected by the strike.

Question though, how fun can the awards be if half the actors nominated don’t show up?

This is quite the oddity. Yesterday it looked as if the People’s Choice Awards had been canceled for this year. Now CBS is claiming that “The show will go on. The People’s Choice tradition on CBS will continue and we plan to introduce some new ideas in the process.”

What the frak does that mean? Revamped? Web only? Winners announced with no fanfare? So confusing.

The Screen Actors Guild Award Nominations are out and listed below. I have to say that while I’m excited for Mad Men, Michael C. Hall, Glenn Close, Alec Baldwin, Tina Fey, and The Office Cast nod — I’m pissed that Friday Night Lights is once again being shut out. Connie Britton is acting her ass off out there in Texas and noone seems to be taking notice. This is hands down my biggest problem at the moment, give the girl some respect. The show also should have been nominated for Ensemble. That’s bullshit.

Also, seriously no How I Met Your Mother for Ensemble Comedy? Come on… Lost? Matthew Fox? Someone’s huffing some strong stuff over there in LaLaLand.

I’m super psyched for a good chunk of nominations. Pushing Daisies, Lee Pace, and Anna Friel have to be my biggest joy this morning! You know I love me some PD and this really gives me hope that the show can be bigger and better post-strike. Kick ass for summer shows like Damages and Mad Men! They kept television in a higher class all summer long so they are much deserved of this honor. Kudos to John Hamm and Rose Byrne for being the summer newbies! Also huge props to 30 Rock, Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin because there is pretty much not a funnier duo on television at the moment.

Sadly Friday Night Lights is shut out, as is Battlestar. It’s hard to believe that The Office got shat upon as well. I thought for sure there was a nomination in there for Jenna Fischer. She killed it at the end of last season and the beginning of this short season. Lost’s Matthew Fox and Elizabeth Mitchell were robbed. What about Barney? Oh god, Neil Patrick Harris didn’t get a nom, kinda sucks.

The 65th Annual Golden Globes will be awarded on January 13th (NBC).

January 8, 2008 the People’s Choice Awards will be held and for the first time in like, forever (possibly) the “people” are getting things right. Favorite New Comedy nominees are Samantha Who, Chuck, Pushing Daisies. Favorite New Drama’s are Private Practice, Moonlight, Gossip Girl.

This one’s tough but I think I have to vote for Pushing Daisies and Gossip Girl! Who will you vote for?

It’s Fried-ay morning because seriously I’m spent. I just posted my recap of SUPERNATURAL’s Season 3 Premiere and wanted to quick give my thoughts on some TV News. What better way than a link post?

Last night I was watching 30 Rock and as it ended they listed a slew of guest stars for the upcoming season. Seinfeld was last night, Will Arnett reprises his homo-licious role next week, Edie Falco’s doing 3 later this season, walking corpse Carrie Fisher is guesting, David Schwimmer, Steve Buscemi, Meredith Viera, and now Al Gore. Please don’t rely on guest star stunt casting… Tina Fey you are way better than that! (Source: USA Today)

Last night Michael Scott drove his car into Lake Scranton because technology is always right. It was too far fetched as was the scene that followed with he and Dwight demanding (and screaming) their gift basket be returned from a former client. Regardless of how dumb and unrealistic it was, there were some genius moments from The Office. Creed’s dying his hair black and his new slang. He is after all, 29 now — he’ll be 30 in a couple weeks. Phyllis telling Pam that she needs to field calls to all of the sales staff and not play favors to whomever she’s sleeping with “this week” was genius as was Angela calling Pam “The Office Mattress.” Great seeing Jan back in semi-coherent and competent mode. Kelly Kapor, I heart you and your manipulative ways! For a full recap of last night’s The Office hit up Give Me My Remote.

Want to see Keifer Sutherland just hours (maybe minutes) before he got arrested for being a dumbass drunk? Wanna read all about hobnobbing with FOX celebs? Daniel’s got it all. (Source: TheTVAddict)

Felicity and Lost genius JJ Abrams just inked a deal with Fox for a 2 hour pilot called FRINGE. He’s getting 2 million for the pilot episode, are you frakkin’ kidding me? This thing better not suck. It’s about a female FBI Agent and some crazy person. It sounds like Alias meets Silence of the Lambs. Wait, Alias and Silence of the Lambs? I’m so there! (Source: TVGuide)

Did you miss the premiere of the best new show on television? PUSHING DAISIES (ABC) will be reaired tonight at 8pm so this is your 2nd chance to watch greatness. If you did already catch the show, head on over to Pushing Daisies ultimate fansite and discuss Ned & Chuck and your love of all things Lee Pace. (Source: ThePieMaker.com)

Finally, who hasn’t seen Johnny Fairplay get clocked by Danny Bonaduce? Got, I would love to kick his ass too! How lame do those Reality Awards look? Yikes!

Sally Field won an Emmy last night for her portrayal of Nora Walker, the head of this way dysfunctional clan so today I went scouring the depths of video endlessness to find something for all of us Walker lovers.

Here it is, Watch a Sneak Peek of BROTHERS & SISTERS Season 2 Premiere

I cannot wait! Visit AfterElton for more Brothers & Sisters videos.

The Office’s RAINN WILSON and KANYE WEST squaring off at the EMMY AWARDS was really entertaining. As much as I dislike Wayne Brady and Kanye West, it was fun to watch Rainn school Kanye and then really come off as if he knows all the lyrics. Go Rainn!

The cast of HEROES took to the EMMY’s Red Carpet like no ones business. Here are Hayden Panettiere, Sendhil Ramamurthy, Milo Ventimiglia, Ali Larter, Zachary Quinto, and Greg Grunberg working the Red Carpet 2007.

Saturday night was the EMMY Pre-Party and once again my girl KRISTEN BELL was on the town with fellow HEROES castmates MASI OKA and ZACHARY QUINTO.

In the words of Maeby Funke: “Zachary, Marry Me!” God I love him in those glasses.

KRISTEN BELL has not even started her stint on HEROES yet and already they’re toting her out as one of their own. Front and center at the awards, sitting next to Hiro himself, Masi Oka was Veronica Mars herself… Kristen Bell. She looked radiant in blue though I couldn’t help wonder why she wasn’t seated next to her BFF Zachary Quinto?

Yeah, so it’s Sunday afternoon and I just now realized that the EMMY’s are on tonight. Whoops. Is it wrong that I kind of don’t care? Who’s hosting? Who’s nominated? I remember posting about them a while back but now that I think about it, I couldn’t tell you if Mad About You is up against The Golden Girls or if Maude’s against Alice. I’m way out of it.

Real life is way more important than my informing you of what every blog has informed you about in greater details, so quickly here are the majority of the nominees and the ones in BOLD are the one’s I think should win.
