Director Doug Liman was behind this video featuring GOSSIP GIRL’s Penn Badgley and Blake Lively urging an intervention of sorts… They want teens to “Talk To Your Parents About John McCain!”

I’m so calling Blake right now!

GOSSIP GIRL Season 2 Poster - Chuck

GOSSIP GIRL returns September 1st and this preview is the entire reason why I choose Blair, Serena, Chuck, Dan, Lil J, Nate and the rest of the rich bitches over Chuck Bartowski and the Nerd Herd. Gossip Girl is deliciously dirty. It’s going to be the cruelest summer ever and I cannot wait for the debauchery to begin… Here is my favorite previews for the new season; they encompasses everything I love about the show in less than 30 seconds each.

“That Mother Chucker!” is the best line ever… Holy hell, I love the Townie/Camaro line. Madchen Amick rolling around with Nate? Priceless. What about Blair’s face as she sucks on that straw? The girl is a genius! These videos have made me absolutely giddy for September 1st to arrive.

Gossip Girl Season 1 DVD released August 19th

This cover of the GOSSIP GIRL Season 1 DVD Box Set is pretty hot. Season 1 will be released on August 19th, just days before the Season 2 premiere on The CW. Warner Bros. is wasting no time getting everyone acquainted with my favorite Upper East Siders.

As Brad Pitt would ask… “What’s in the box?”

Back to your regularly scheduled podcast, we head right into GOSSIP GIRL, AMERICAN IDOL, THE OFFICE, GREY’S, BATTLESTAR GALACTICA and more. Plus, it’s the return of TWO IDIOTS TALK LOST (*we talk about the finale being this week but listener Michael pointed out that it’s not until May 29th - phew!) where we rehash the first hour of the three hour Season 4 finale, once again proving that even idiots can enjoy Lost. And as a bonus feature, we have a special guest to help us talk about the Season 3 finale of The CW’s SUPERNATURAL.

    Gossip Girl on The CW

Hello Upper East Siders, I just received the following message from Gossip Girl herself. It appears that we’ll be able to relive the adventures of S and B, Nate, Chuck and those Humphrey’s all over again, from the beginning! They’re moving to Monday’s at 8/9c so mark it in your iCal. Apparently you’re not going to want to miss out either because The CW will be airing never before seen footage as well as cast interviews to make the gossip that much juicier!

    Here’s the 411:

The CW Network invites die-hard fans and new viewers to catch the hit freshman drama GOSSIP GIRL from the very beginning with a special, 90-minute GOSSIP GIRL REVEALED, on Monday, January 28 (8:00-9:30 p.m. ET), hosted by the stars of GOSSIP GIRL and featuring the series premiere as well as exclusive, never-before-seen bonus material.

In addition to airing the pilot episode in its entirety, The CW will offer an enhanced GOSSIP GIRL experience to passionate devotees and the uninitiated wanting to see how the phenomenon began. During the broadcast, viewers will go behind the scenes for in-depth conversations with TV’s hottest cast, including Blake Lively (“Serena van der Woodsen”), Leighton Meester (“Blair Waldorf”), Penn Badgley (“Dan Humphrey”), Chace Crawford (“Nate Archibald”), Taylor Momsen (“Jenny Humphrey”), Ed Westwick (“Chuck Bass”), Kelly Rutherford (“Lily van der Woodsen”), Matthew Settle (“Rufus Humphrey”) and Jessica Szohr (“Vanessa”). Additional bonus material includes never-before-seen footage from the series, profiles of the players and the wannabes in the GOSSIP GIRL world, featurettes on the GOSSIP GIRL fashion and music, and much more.

In the following weeks, The CW will air all of the GOSSIP GIRL episodes in consecutive order every Monday!

    Sounds like fun!

Gossip Girl - A Thin Line Between Chuck and Nate (4)

GOSSIP GIRL aired it’s last episode tonight and sadly I don’t have a ton of time to recap the pickle these kids got themselves into so I thought I’d share with you the actual typed notes I was taking when I watched this episode a couple weeks ago. It’s a look inside the brain of a 12 year old obsessed tv blogger.

  • How’s teen pregrancy for gossip fodder? Primo! Seems S is like a defective typewriter and being the biggest IT girl in town means everyone knows.
  • Dan Humphrey proves he’s the dumbest and most chivalrous man in NYC.
  • Jenny Humphrey stands up to B’s hazing antics and storms off just in time for Serena to swoop in and reveal who’s really missing their period. Are B and Bass expecting child? God I love scandal.
  • B continues to overcompensate with Nate and the doting girlfriend act is getting old, just ask that stalking Bass.
  • Back at casa Humphrey, a romantic dinner between S and D is a little awkward since D confessed his love earlier. Too bad Dan’s being a little to self absorbed to realize that S’s issue is with the denial diva B. S confesses B’s deepest and darkest, little do they know that Lil J’s just around the corner soaking every juicy word in. Whoops.
  • Becks, the art dealer from the pilot reappears and asks Rufus out on a date. Back in the saddle again!
  • S shows up at Chuck’s place asking for his help in confronting B only to discover that she’s been left in the dark about her romp in the sack with Nate. Time for a catfight? Sadly, Mrs. Waldorf overhears and thinks her daughter’s “condition” has reappeared. Close but no cigar. Wrong upchucking condition.
  • Things go from bad to worse when a pre-school standoff with Bass leads to B’s dirty laundry being aired out all over Gossip Girl. Think she would have learned by now.
  • Nate asks Jenny if GG is true and figuring she doesn’t need B anymore, she tells Nate all the gory details which leads to the most homo moment of GG to date, a Nate and Chuck tussle for all to see. Could Chuck be more the jilted lover? Get a room.
  • Nate comes home to find B begging for forgiveness but instead she ends up alone with the knowledge that Lil J sold her out. When she tries to take Jenny down in front of her cronies, a new Queen has already taken the reigns and she’s learned from the best because it’s a nasty battle of words and once again B’s left with the sting of her own venom. Like the new Queen tells Lil J, B trained them all well. Too bad all this new popularity is once again getting to Jenny’s head, she’s no longer the grunt or the gopher, sadly she has no problem letting newbie Lil E know that. How far you’ve fallen Jenny Humphrey in your rise to the top.
  • Lonely and pathetic, B tries to butter up to Chuck, taking him for the fool he’s not quite ready to be. Luckily, he’s gone all Logan Echolls on us calls B “Rode hard, put away wet.” Betcha that stings.
  • B runs home and convinces her Mother that she needs a semester in Paris but S confronts B helicopter side and cons her into not running. It’s full circle as S reminds B of what it was like when she ran away and how she reinvented herself amidst all the gossip.

B might be tougher than we thought Upper East Siders, scandal’s got a new name and a new face. I wouldn’t want to be in the wake of Hurricane Waldorf.

    How does it end?

“One good scandal deserves another, wonder who’s going down next? Everybody is B has anything to say about it. You know you love me. xoxox Gossip Girl”

There were some incredible moments in this episode. I loved Jenny standing up to Blair but then I hated Jenny for not doing what she promised Dan back in the pilot, not changing who she is. She had a big chance to change the social order of those over-privileged bitches but instead tucked her tail and carried on the rotten tradition.

I really liked the idea of coming full circle with Serena growing up some and having the chance to convince Blair not to make the same mistakes she made but I wish it didn’t come across so hokey.

That fight? Brilliantly lame. I now feel like I could take Nate, rip all his clothes off and slam him against the trunk of a car… wait, sorry!

Could Dan be more of a wet blanket? He’s such a sucker and I want him to move on. I want him to not be so in love of Serena. And Serena… I want her to just take a moment to breathe and not be trying to fix everything because I know she’s not like 2 months clean of being the next Britney.

Why oh why can we not have Rufus and Lily together? That’s driving me insane as I heart those two wacky lovebirds.

Blair’s return to school and the revenge she’ll enact is going to be devilishly sweet. I look forward to that most my friends!

So what did you think? Love it? Hate it? Sad this is it until God knows when?

Hey Upper East Siders, Ducky here urging you to watch tonight’s probable season finale of GOSSIP GIRL entitled “A Thin Line Between Chuck and Nate.”

GOSSIP GIRL “School Lies” - Serena by the pool

    GOSSIP GIRL “School Lies” Recap

I’ve missed my little Upper East Siders like deserts miss the rain. With the barren wasteland of television these days, it was a treat to see Gossip Girl back on my tube. Welcome to 2008 kids, sadly we only have one more week with our favorite group of teen miscreants. Onto tonight’s show…

Hells Yes, Chuck Bass is back and in rare form. Within the first few minutes he’s got B and S on the run.

The kids break into the school pool and it’s all fun and games until someone loses an eye… okay so GG is not Supernatural but there is a little bloodshed which leads to a bitch hunt from the school’s new headmistress, Ms. Kweller.

Banding together, the whole gang goes silent. It’s just a matter of time until someone cracks. My bets are on Dan Humphrey.

Rufus’ Christmas Day confession to Lily comes back to haunt him as she and Bart Bass return from a post-engagement getaway and she tells him she’s going to accept. Putting the final nail in the R and L coffin, or so it seems. Later he makes a face to face plea but will this change her mind?

Dan confronts Chuck about possessing the pool key and has video footage to back it up. Blair steals the key from Chuck and later Nate discovers it in her desk.

Chuck, still a little obsessive over B threatens her once more. B pulls the innocent girlfriend in denial card and all seems squashed, that is until they realize Vanessa’s videotaped the whole conversation. As Gossip Girl herself puts it: “Now that sex and lies have been caught on videotape, V’s documentary just became the most anticipated new release of the year.”

Back to the witch hunt, Nate confesses to breaking and entering and has the key to prove it. Too bad Head Mistress herself is one step ahead. Nice try Nate, it seems like chivalry is as good as dead. Suspension will suit you well, enjoy your free time while the real culprit, Serena tries everything in her power to dodge the bullet until she realizes that it could cause her to lose Dan. She confesses to breaking and entering and owns up to her past. Looks like Serena really is trying to make a change for the better.

Chuck’s discovered that V has a price; $10k buys just about any cow. Little does he know that V’s given him a blank and donated the money to a medical grant for teens with genital herpes. Why you ask? The little heart to heart with B. Seems like some new frienemies are forming.

Lily decides to run away with Rufus until Serena makes a selfish plea not to ruin what she has with Dan by bedding his father. Reluctantly she leaves Rufus with a foggy goodbye and the two new families “celebrate” the blessed union. Grossly, Bart tells Serena that he went over the Head Misstress’ head and S is now free and clear. I guess its harder to turn over a new leaf that it looks, huh S?

    Chuck: “Poor little Humphrey Dumpty”

Just wait until next week’s finale. It’s pretty great (except for the last couple minutes which are a little too pretty package for my taste). Spoilers later…

    Gossip Girl on The CW

I was finally able to catch up on this weeks’ episode of The CW’s GOSSIP GIRL. “Victor/Victrola” was a tale of betrayal, honesty, liberations, sexual freedom, and burlesque. While I enjoyed GOSSIP GIRL, I do have to say that this was the worst episode the show has had yet. I’m willing to forgive and forget because honestly, one episode out of seven isn’t a big deal.

I found this episode to be a little juvenile and beneath the standard previously set by the show. GG has sunk to many levels but none of them were so out of body, detached, and misused as the dream sequences my boy Dan Humphrey was afflicted with. The vaselined/frosted effect and the cheesy dialogue surrounding Nate and Serena going at it while virginal (and sexy ass) Dan tried to get pointers and interact with them was simply absurd and it took the show from a fantastical satire to the lowest level of Disney fantasy. I was very put off and that was disheartening.

Luckily the rest of the episode, was exactly what I like about GG. It had Chuck Bass trying to turn a new leaf but resorting to his perverted and demonic ways. He was trying to get his Daddy to invest in a burlesque club and in the process he ruined the burgeoning relationship between Lily and his Dad. He corrupted Blair who later performed an on stage striptease which later led to a black car late night shag with old Chuckster. Hey, she and Nate were on a break!

A break you ask? Why yes, Blair found out from Little J that Nate still has feelings for Serena, then she broke up with him after witnessing Nate get decked by his coked out Dad before he was hauled off to jail where it later turned out he was being investigate for embezzlement and fraud. Whoops…

Vanessa popped in and out of the Humphrey kids lives, busting in on Dan and S in the midst of heavy petting and later helped Little J understand that the truth no matter how hard it is to handle is always the best policy. Speaking of truths, poor Rufus got a heaping helping when he found out his estranged wife’s been shacking up with some other guy. Little J’s off to upstate to try and get her back.

And on their backs as the episode ended were both Rufus and Lily. Rebounding seems like her favorite sport. A little more compromising though were Dan and Serena who were last spotted in a major fire hazard about to bump uglies for the first time. Why can’t I be in that room bumping hotties with Dan Humphrey? Sigh.

    Gossip Girl on The CW

Because I just need to post this and get it overwith, here are the notes I took while watching this week’s great episode of The CW’s GOSSIP GIRL. Sorry it’s so late.

  • Blair’s created some elaborate Ladies in Waiting scheme to bed Nate. Good luck with that sister!
  • Vanessa shows up on the scene, back in town to finish high school in the city while living with her sister. Seems that Dan and Vanessa used to be quite the item. Good luck with that sister!
  • Dan lied to S when she was going to ask him to the ball. He then lied to V when he decided to man up and head to that ball afterall. Good luck with that brother!
  • Chuck’s back and masked as the Devil… shocker!
  • Nate’s investigating The Captain’s financial issues… the moving of his trust fund, the out of control need for the Waldorf deal, the drugs… he turns to S to talk about it and I’m sure that’s not going to go over well with B… especially seeing how he tried to caress S’s hand. What!
  • Jenny is B’s lapdog and then got blown out of the water and told she wasn’t invited! B’s got balls. Too bad Jenny’s got Vanessa who’s primed and ready to help Little J crash that masked ball. Jenny’s entrance into the dance was filmed so well. All these modelesque timid shots. Jenny working Chuck over was genius!
  • Lily and Rufus attend the Waldorf Opiate Den party and both look dashing. Lily’s trying to get Rufus back onto the cultural map in order to help inflate his gallery and using him to get Chuck’s dad all jealous much. Ah, a Rufus/Lily kiss leading to a pouring of his emotions and her reconciling with Bass but we all know that won’t last.
  • S gave Dan the cold shoulder only to cave when he fessed up. Big smooch eyed by Vanessa led to us findout out that Dan said he once LOVED her… Loved being the key word and she fled. Dan heads off after her but returns to the party to find Serena who’s now Jenny who’s not leaving in a huff after Nate kissed her thinking she was Serena and it was a whole who’s who to do!
  • So that was a little peek into the notes I take while watching shows. I just don’t have a ton of time right now to write up a recap or such so I thought I’d at least put down my thoughts. I still absolove GOSSIP GIRL and damn do I fall more in love with Kristen Bell’s narration each week!

    Gossip Girl on The CW

I finally was able to catch up on this week’s installment of The CW’s delish GOSSIP GIRL and I’m happy to say that the show continues to deliver the bitchy goods.

This week was Blair’s annual Sleepover Event which is exclusive and a must not miss… unless you’re Serena and you have a date with the dreamy Dan Humphrey that night. When S bails on B, Jenny Humphrey is brought in to replace Serena but sadly Blair doesn’t have Bloody Mary and a nice tickle fight on tap. It’s haute couture dress up, binge drinking and a nasty game of Truth or Dare with girl on girl make out sessions, disrobing Door Men, breaking kids out of rehab, breaking up relationships, and stealing. Just another night on the Upper East Side.

Meanwhile Dan and Serena go out on their first date which Dan’s paid for with 6 lbs. of coinage from a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles piggy bank. Sadly, it’s high end pricey food and stuffy old people. Obviously breaking his bank, Serena pays for dinner and what I love is that he doesn’t freak. She tells him that she knows he can pay but why spend his money in a fancy schmance place when this isn’t the date she wanted. She wanted a Dan Humphrey date which we find out involves dive bars and a game of pool.

Jenny breaks Eric out of the Ostroff Center on a dare after a hysterical LiLo inspired narcotics list reading by Blair including smudged lipstick. They head to a nightclub where they’re so obviously not old enough to get in, but whatevs… I’m rolling with it. The dares continue and Jenny fights back, daring Blair to make out with some skanky financial dude. She steals his cellphone and dares Jenny to call his girlfriend. Jenny, refusing to lose this battle does.
