TORCHWOOD Season 2 premieres January 26th on BBC America and the anticipation is killing me. Not only do I obsess over this show and the genius that is Capt. Jack Harkness but knowing that Buffy’s James Marsters is in the premiere makes the wait that much worse.

Here are the first 4 minutes from the Torchwood Season 2 Premiere entitled “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang”

Here’s a bonus clip featuring James Marsters and what appears to be his time travelling character that used to be “partners in everyway and then some”. Good god!

Just wait until you see the full on gay kiss between Capt. Jack and Capt. Spike John Hart. Damn that’s hot!

    Buffy Finale - Season 7

This years PALEY FEST will not only play host to Pushing Daisies, Gossip Girl, Chuck and Mad Men it apparently will be cozeying up to the scoobies in a BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER REUNION! Whedonesque just released this information! I need a minute to clean up my shorts…

Sadly the schedule of dates for events at the Paley Fest (March 14-27) will not be announced until February 4th. Tickets go on sale February 7th!

Angel: After The Fall artwork with dragon

    TVGuide Reports:

The BUFFY Season 8 comics have been so successful that ANGEL is finally getting the comic treatment as well. I can’t wait to see what Angel, Spike, Gunn, Lorne, and Ilyria are up to. Does everyone escape that damn alley? Is the dragon friend or foe? I cannot wait!

There’s life after the apocalypse. Angel fans will finally find out what transpired after the cult show’s 2004 finale, as the sexy vampire (played on TV by David Boreanaz) and his team faced down the armies of Hell. Buffyverse creator Joss Whedon has approved a monthly comic-book series that’s basically Angel: Season 6, says Chris Ryall, publisher and editor in chief of IDW Publishing, which launches the first issue Wednesday. “We published a miniseries, Spike Asylum, written by Brian Lynch,” Ryall says. “Joss loved it and said he finally saw a writer he thought could do this.”

Angel: After the Fall, which Whedon will oversee, picks up a few months after the TV finale in a Los Angeles that is literally in hell and ruled over by demon lords. “We’ll catch up on which characters survived, how they survived, and the considerable changes Angel and others have gone through,” Ryall reveals. Look for such familiar faces as Spike (who’s taken over the Playboy mansion), Gunn, and a (sort of) revived Wesley, plus a big role for Angel’s generally despised son Connor, who we’re promised will be more appealing this time around. Then there’s a telepathic giant fish as well as Angel’s new sidekick, a 40-foot dragon. And never fear, because überevil law firm Wolfram & Hart has lots of power in these netherregions. In a special treat for fans, the main arc will be interrupted by a two-parter called “First Night,” which follows the fate of everyone the night of the very big fight, including lounge lizard Lorne. “This is the story that I’ve wanted to tell since we got the Angel license two and a half years ago,” says Ryall. “It’s great to finally do a storyline that everybody’s been dying to see.”

Joss Whedon’s Open Letter about WGA Strike
Buffy/Angel/Firefly/Dollhouse mastermind and all around badass JOSS WHEDON has penned an open letter which Variety has posted.

Sick as a dog but proud as a noble and much healthier dog, I made my way to the picket lines outside of Fox studios today. I’m really glad I did. In addition to carrying the banner, it was a chance to talk with other writers, get more perspectives and more information about what’s happening, and to see a surprising number of old friends. David Fury and Mere Smith were there, as well as many non-mutant enemies that I know. We were all caught in that giddy first burst of solidarity and fear. Nobody thinks this is going to be easy. But everybody there knows that, as things stand, it has to be.

A particularly gratifying and unexpected sight was that of Aly and Alexis, along with Cobie Smulders, marching shoulder to shoulder with the HIMYM scribes. Aly and Alexis even brought boxes of candy bars to hand out to the flagging marchers (actually, I was the only one who appeared to be flagging – even the pregnant writer outlasted me). Mere told me young Boreanaz had also been there earlier that day. I was really touched, but my actor-friends were very matter-of-fact about the whole thing. They understand that the issues at hand affect the future of the entire creative community here, and that the writers, by virtue of being first, will set a precedent that affects all the guilds. That is why we writers have to be firm, intractable and absolute in our dedication to getting a fair deal. And that’s all we’re talking about: a fair deal. For us, and for generations of artists to come.

Sounds pretty damn pompous, no? “Generations to come”? Yeesh. But it’s true. Our culture, our government, our corporate structures have all gotten pretty used to taking care of ourselves at the expense of our children and their children. Part of this is simple greed, part is immediate practicality trumping long-view perspective, and part is perfectly understandable fear. It’s easier to take what you’re given, not protest, not make a fuss. A lot of people will suffer grievously if this strike isn’t quickly resolved, and the men and women who voted for it know that. But like so many things – our eco-system being the most obvious – if we don’t make it work now, what’s to come will be much worse.

I’m sorry, I’m still trying to fathom the awesomness of this news and how I didn’t know about it until 14 hours after it was announced. Damn Halloween and oversleeping! I seriously got up this morning 5 minutes after I was supposed to be at work. WHOOPS! By then Rae, Daniel, everyone had scooped me but I have to write about it as well!

    Eliza Dushku as Faith

JOSS WHEDON and ELIZA DUSHKU ReTeam For a New Series on Fox!!!!

The creator of the Buffyverse and his OOC Slayer Faith are reunited and folks, it does feel so good. As per E!’s Watch With Kristen:

Whedon’s new Fox series, called Dollhouse, stars Miss Eliza Dushku, best known as Faith to you Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans. And this show isn’t just a pilot. It’s already been given a seven-episode commitment by Fox. Woo!

Here’s how Fox describes the series:

Echo (Eliza Dushku) [is] a young woman who is literally everybody’s fantasy. She is one of a group of men and women who can be imprinted with personality packages, including memories, skills, language—even muscle memory—for different assignments. The assignments can be romantic, adventurous, outlandish, uplifting, sexual and/or very illegal. When not imprinted with a personality package, Echo and the others are basically mind-wiped, living like children in a futuristic dorm/lab dubbed the Dollhouse, with no memory of their assignments—or of much else. The show revolves around the childlike Echo’s burgeoning self-awareness, and her desire to know who she was before, a desire that begins to seep into her various imprinted personalities and puts her in danger both in the field and in the closely monitored confines of the Dollhouse.

It sounds crazy! For a full interview with both Joss and Eliza, head on over to E! Joss spills whether or not Eliza will be kicking some ass again, how the whole idea shook down, how Fox came to them with the killer committment and much much more.

    Buffy Once More With Feeling
    FOX CANCELS ALL BUFFY SING-A-LONGS!

Well, it had a good run and now it will have a good fight to look forward to! The theatre I’ve worked at (The Coolidge Corner Theatre) for almost 3 years was one of the founding fathers of the Buffy Sing-A-Long in part due to our ex-Programming Director Clinton McClung who has since taken the show to NYC and traveling around the country. There’s always been debate about who created the Sing-A-Long but I think everyone will agree that it doesn’t matter who started it, it needs to frakkin’ continue!

    From Associated Press:

Lawyers have driven a stake into the “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” sing-along.

The TV show didn’t exactly die when the show and its demon-fighting heroine went off the air three years ago. Driven by a fiercely loyal following, fans put together the sing-along event, a la “Rocky Horror Picture Show,” where people turn up for midnight screenings of a musical episode of the show, often dressed up in costume as their favorite characters.

That all came to an end this week when the studio that owns the rights to the show got wind of what was going on.

Lawyers for Twentieth Century Fox Television, a division of Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp., told a licensing company that had given the green light for the sing-along events that it had gone beyond limits of the show’s licensing agreements.

All future engagements of the show, including a three-night run scheduled to start Friday in St. Louis, have been canceled.

Chris Alexander, a spokesman for the studio, said that “significant payments” would have to be made to Hollywood unions for the show to be screened in movie theaters, which is a highly unusual arrangement anyway and usually reserved for situations like one-time charity events.

That came as a shock to Clinton McClung, who had organized the sing-along events. “I understand how the entertainment industry works, but I don’t understand why it has to work against me,” he said.

McClung said he had sought and received a licensing arrangement from Criterion Pictures for the events, but Alexander said those permissions went beyond what Fox allowed.

This just in, TheHollywoodReporter is reporting that Buffy alum, Austin Powers’ son “SCOTTTT”, and Robot Chicken mastermind SETH GREEN will be doing a 2 episode stint on GREY’S ANATOMY.

Seth Green has been tapped for a two-episode arc on ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy.” Green, who said that “Grey’s” is one of his favorite shows, will play a patient on the hit medical drama. “If you are going to get sick, Seattle Grace is the place to do it,” he said. “Maybe they’ll call me McSicky?”

    BONES on FOX Logo
    BONES Recaps With MEL
Episode 3.01 “The Widow’s Son in the Windshield”

BONES is one of those shows that I never watched but always wanted to. I loved Buffy/Angel so I had an attachment to David Boreanaz but when it premeired 3 years ago I just didn’t have room in the primetime schedule. Luckily MEL who did PSYCH recaps for us all summer wanted to write up Bones. I hope you guys enjoy it. Also, let us know if you want the recaps to be longer or not. Mel’s just wondering how much you’ll all want to read and discuss. So, comments would be appreciated. Take it away Mel!

How excited am I that Bones is finally back?! So frakkin’ excited! It was a great episode, too, what with the cannibals and the interesting new hair styles and the new/recurring characters and the Booth/Brennan love and such.

The season premiere takes place three months after the second season finale, and Zach is just now getting back from Iraq, with a new crew cut to boot. The guy who took his place, Clark, is super bummed, but everyone else is ecstatic. So, the main mystery this week circled around a secret cannibalistic society, which was pretty interesting. The case wasn’t actually solved, and I think this is supposed to be a serial killer case throughout the season, which I’m pretty excited about. The closest we got to that was the Gravedigger and (sort of) the on-going storyline about Brennan’s father. It should be really interesting to see where it goes, and how it’s handled by the writers and actors. Also, the Angela/Hodgins/Angela’s husband story line is shaping up to be pretty funny. Cam (whom I absolutely loved in this episode) tells Angela to hire a private detective to find her husband so that she can annul the marriage and get hitched with Hodgins. It should definitely prove to be quite entertaining, so I’m fully looking forward to that.

On to the character moments: this episode was chock full of them, and I frakkin’ loved it!! When Angela confronted Brennan about her avoidance of Booth and the field, I was really touched- the friendship between those two is fantastic. And just the fact that Brennan REALLY opened up to Booth and explained why she hasn’t been around him as much (she blamed his for Zach’s departure) shows such a huge leap forward for our intrepid girl anthropologist. There was a time not too long ago when Hell would’ve frozen over before she’d been so truthful with Booth. Like the true soul mates they are (come on, you so know it’s gonna happen) they hashed it out, and shared a really sweet moment over coffee at the end of the episode.

So what’d you guys think of the episode? Any likes? Dislikes? Loves? Favorite lines? My personal fave: “Zach would’ve told me.” Oh, Booth.

Apparently Harmony hasn’t found her Blondie Bear yet because MERCEDES MCNAB will be guest starring on the November 15th episode of SUPERNATURAL!

    According to Michael Ausiello:

The Nov. 15 episode ought to be a treat for Buffy/Angel fans, and not just because it’s vampcentric, either. Mercedes McNab — the scene-stealer who played dumb blonde Harmony on both shows — has just been signed to guest as a toothsome chick who recalls for the Winchester boys the night she picked up more than a hangover while out clubbing.

Rejoice Harmony fans, rejoice! I can only hope that someone has a hissy slap fight with her, preferably in slo-mo. God, that Xander/Harmony fight still makes me as giddy as a school girl.

For a while now, internet sites have been a twitter with news that Buffy/Angel alum Charisma Carpenter would be joining The Apprentice’s Celebrity Edition. Luckily that is not the case. Instead, TV Guide is reporting that Cordelia Chase will be tempting those bad boys of BIG SHOTS!

Charisma Carpenter Guests on ABC’s BIG SHOTS

She has booked a one-shot gig on Fox’s Back to You, and, more importantly, a recurring run on the new ABC drama Big Shots. Details on Carpenter’s Big Shots role are being kept hush-hush, though it is said she has a connection to Christopher Titus’ character. Carpenter first appears in the Nov. 1 episode.

Here are two pictures from the premiere episode of CBS’s WITHOUT A TRACE featuring BUFFY badboy, blondie bear himself, JAMES MARSTERS.

James Marsters on Without a Trace #1 James Marsters on Without a Trace #2

Marsters will be playing Detective Mars when Without a Trace begins its 6th season on Thursday, September 27th at 10pm.

Oh Drusilla needs to watch her back, Spike’s investigating missing people in Sunnydale New York City!  Buffy’s James Marsters is joining Without a Trace on CBS as Detective Mars.  This means I need to start watching again, curses!

Comic-ConI leave in a mere 5 hours for sunny San Diego where I’ll probably see no sun or feel no summer loving as I’ll be spending all of my time inside the San Diego Convention Center with 200,000 of my closest geek friends.
