HEROES Chapter 2 “Generations” concludes tonight with “Powerless” which may or may not be the last new episode until next Fall. Only the WGA Strike will tell.

“Powerless” Clips
Featuring Sylar and Maya with Suresh, Elle opening up to HRG, and Adam with Peter.

“Powerless” Trailer

“Powerless” Description
IT’S HERO VS. HERO AS THE SERIES’ “VOLUME II: GENERATIONS” COMES TO AN EXPLOSIVE, BLOODY FINISH — Deep below Primatech Paper in Odessa, TX, Peter’s (Milo Ventimiglia) reunion with Nathan (Adrian Pasdar) turns violent when the brothers, Matt (Greg Grunberg) and Hiro (Masi Oka) all clash thanks to Adam (David Anders) and his pursuit of the deadly Shanti Virus. After watching his heroic cousin captured by a street gang, Micah (Noah Gray-Cabey) turns to the one person who can help him save Monica (Dana Davis) — his mom (Ali Larter). Meanwhile, Maya (Dania Ramirez) tragically learns how much of a monster Sylar (Zachary Quinto) really is during his kidnapping of Molly (Adair Tishler) and Suresh (Sendhil Ramamurthy). Meanwhile, Elle (Kristen Bell) decides to play hero to get back into her father’s (Stephen Tobolowsky) good graces.

All I have to say is that if either of the 2 people that are supposed to die are Nathan or Adam I’m going to be pissed. Nathan has been screwed out of a story this season and we’re just now getting into Adam’s story. I think KBell is safe as well because she’s so not fulfilled her episode commitment yet.

HEROES airs tonight at 9 p.m. on NBC

The WGA Strike is about to take away television but before that happens, there’s plenty for GMMR and I to talk about!

Dan and Kath are back for TV Podcast #16, and it’s all about the shows! It’s not about the strike, it’s just us talking about what we’ve loved and hated about television over the past couple weeks. I’m going to warn you now, it’s an hour long podcast. We haven’t talked in a while so sit back, relax, and listen to us in 2 sittings if that makes it easier. Thanks for sticking with us!

Wow, when did Tuesday night become a wasteland for DVR catch ups? I used my time wisely and instead of watching The CW’s Reaper (which honestly I’m just not that into, I’ve tried… I really have) I chose to catch up on last week’s Dirty Sexy Money (the show is coming into its own and not such a caricature of rich bitch ideology), Doctor Who (I’m still 5 away from the finale which I can’t watch the final 3 until I’ve finished the Torchwood Season 1 boxset I have because apparently Torchwood’s final episodes play heavily into the last couple Doctor Who’s - I hope to be done this weekend!), last night’s CHUCK and HEROES.

    CHUCK Versus The Tango
Gossip Girl was given the green light for a full 22 episode season today and I’m assuming that Chuck won’t be far behind giving Josh Schwartz two successful shows this season. I say that Chuck is a success because it’s made it to episode 3 and because it makes me laugh hysterically and just feel damn good about life. I heart Chuck Bartowski and his Nerd Herd pals, his nosy sister and that smokin’ hot Captain Awesome. Here’s a word of advice for Schwartzy… MORE SHIRTLESS UNDERWEAR CLAD CAPTAIN AWESOME! And more man on man tango please!

More on Chuck and Heroes after the jump…

Here are some higher resolution shots of DAVID ANDERS (Takezo Kensei) from tonight’s episode of HEROES entitled “Lizards.” Don’t forget to check out my first set of sneak peek screencaps of Kensei and Hiro.

A little birdie shot me these screencaps from HEROES Chapter 2 “Lizards” of DAVID ANDERS as TAKEZO KENSEI. My little birdie knows I love me some Sark so a huge thanks for these!

HEROES Season 2, Chapter 2 “Lizards” Plotline:
AS MATT INVESIGATES THE DEATH OF ONE HERO, ANOTHER IS ATTACKED BY THIS NEW SINISTER FORCE STALKING THOSE WITH ABILITIES — THE HAITIAN RETURNS — DIRECTED BY EXECUTIVE PRODUCER ALLAN ARKUSH — With one person dead, Matt (Greg Grunberg) enlists some unlikely help as the attacks continue on people with abilities. Claire’s (Hayden Panettiere) efforts to hide her healing abilities at her new California high school are jeopardized by a fellow student with a secret of his own. As part of his new job, Dr. Suresh (Sendhil Ramamurthy) must track down The Haitian (guest star Jimmy Jean-Louis). While crossing into Mexico, Maya (Dania Ramirez) and Alejandro’s (Shalim Ortiz) abilities prove to be a threat to those around them. Meanwhile, disappointed by his hero Kensei (David Anders), Hiro (Masi Oka) resolves to rectify any damage his presence in feudal Japan has done to history. And another lost Hero falls in with a gang of Irish gangsters with clues to his past.

HEROES Season 2 premiered last night and it would take me Four Months to recap Chapter 1 “Four Months Later” because honestly so much went down. Before I get into some sort of breakdown, I have to say that while I really liked the episode, I was in no way blown away by it. Did I have too high of expectations? Possibly. Did I really want to get down and dirty right away, absolutely.

Heroes Season 2 Cast Photo #2

As I have no clue how to really write this up without doing a blow by blow recap (which there’s no way I’m doing) I’ll highlight each characters arc for the episode.

Mohinder Suresh is in Egypt talking about the genetic mutation and basically he’s the newest laughing stock of the scientific community. The always great Stephen Tobolowsky has been following him, approaches him and after Suresh threatens an ass whooping, offers Mohinder a job with THE COMPANY. Yup, the same Company that HRG used to work for. They’re interested in Molly and working on finding a cure for the mutating virus that’s killing some of our special ability friends. Tobolowsky can turn things to Gold which seems to help The Company continue operating with unlimited resources. Mohinder takes the job and later calls HRG to let him know that “he’s in!” Seems that HRG and Mohinder are working together to bring The Company down. LOVE IT!

Claire Bennet/Butler and HRG aka Noah Bennet/Butler have moved from Odessa, TX to Costa Verde, CA. On the run from The Company, they’ve set up shop in a little town, got themselves new names, and new jobs. Claire’s only instruction is to lay low, don’t stand out in the crowd, and to be “entirely unextraordinary.” That’s gonna be kind of hard considering she almost gets run over by a peculiar student named West who later walks in on her after she’s jumped from a 15 foot gymnasium platform braking her leg and healing it. Um, West’s a little freaky deeky as he splits people into two groups: Robots and Aliens. He’s convinced Claire’s a robot but that’s just because they’re both ALIENS! West can fly, like Nathan Petrelli zooming through the air fly and he’s got a little obsession with our favorite jailbait cheerleader.

Meanwhile, HRG’s working as Assistant Manager at Copy Kingdom under some major tool who after much berating, HRG breaks his finger, threatens him, and all’s well in the world. Back at home, the whole Bennet clan is there including MR. MUGGLES! Yeah, I love Mr. Muggles and Mrs. Bennet. I’m still wondering what she and Lyle know about Claire and HRG’s involvement in everything. Claire kept giving these looks to her Father which made me think that maybe they aren’t clued in, but how can they not be? Did anyone else feel confused by this?

David Anders will be playing Hiro’s hero, Takezo Kensei on HEROES Season 2 and I cannot wait. Luckily, we don’t have to wait until next Monday to get some insider information on Kensei.

Check out The Yamagato Fellowship to Watch the 5 Part Documentary on Takezo Kensei
Kensei Photo Archive - The Yamagato Fellowship

Currently on the site are the first four parts of a video documentary on Takezo Kensei—the owner of the sword that unlocked Hiro’s powers in Season 1. The final parts comes out on Monday, the day of the Season 2 premiere.

The videos aren’t just cooked up in NBC’s dotcom department–they’re Heroes content written by the show’s writing staff, and narrated by Jonathan Rhys-Davis.

What do the three panels listed above in the subject header have in common? They’re the three panels I got shut out of last Saturday while at Comic-Con. Some of you already know the story but many of you probably do not, so here goes.

Pushing Daisies was having their early bird special screening at 9:15am and you know I love me some Pushing Daisies so I couldn’t miss that. I knew going into it that I would probably have to sacrifice Bionic Woman but it was something I could live with. Daisies was over by 10:30 so that gave me 2 hours to get in line and get into Ballroom 20 for Heroes. Ballroom 20 being our home for the next 7 hours.

We left Pushing Daisies in a haze (the joys of Bryan Fuller and Lee Pace can do that to a guy) and stumbled over to Ballroom 20 to get in line. I kid you not when I tell you that B20 was already packed to capacity and the line to get in wrapped a good 4000+.

Shocked, Rae, Kath, Thomas and I filed into line and sulked. The line was so long and we just knew that everyone in the hall already was either there for Heroes or Joss Whedon so the likelihood of a mass exodus was slim. After about 20 minutes, the line didn’t move and we had to make a drastic decision. Stay in line at numbers 4000, 4001, 4002, and 4003 where we may or may not get in sometime before the place closes or head downstairs to see the Pushing Daisies folks in line and chat with our Warner Bros. folks and then see the other panels of interest that we would have missed by setting up shop in B20 all day.

    David Anders

Can it be true? Is it possible that my honey bunny Julian Sark from ALIAS is joining one of my favorite shows this fall? According to the svelt Kristen over at E! my dreams of seeing David Anders on television again have come true!

    Omigod! Omigod! Omigod!

Honestly, I’m downright giddy to be breaking the news to you that David Anders—known as the wonderfully sinister and sexy Sark to Alias fans—is joining the cast of Heroes!

Though NBC has not yet announced it, my Heroes moles tell me it’s official: Anders has been given the much coveted series-regular role of Kensei, a Sark-ish character who just so happens to be 1,000 years old, for the upcoming second season of Heroes. I’m told Anders starts work on the show on Monday.

Hear that? It’s the sound of Alias fans around the world shouting “Yippee!” as they bust out a happy Snoopy dance. And you Heroes fans should be, too, because, hot damn, the show just got even better.

If I wasn’t still lying on the floor dumbfounded by the genius of Pushing Daisies, I’d be down here having palputations over the news of DAVID ANDERS JOINING HEROES!

*Update: TVGuide’s reporting the following on Anders role…

David Anders, aka Alias’ delicious Sark, will play Takezo Kensei, an ancient samurai warrior and Hiro’s childhood hero. Kensei, of course, is the original owner of the sword Hiro sought during much of Season 1.

Additional castings are coming in faster than that pesky eclipse. Lyndsy Fonseca (Ted’s future-daughter on How I Met Your Mother) and Dianna Agron are cheerleaders, one sweet, one tart, in a Southern California town to where Claire is expected to move. Barry Shabaka Henley is Detective Fuller, a New York police officer. Holt McCallany is Ricky, the ringleader of a group of Irish thugs.
