Just a quick reminder that another semester at CRU wraps tonight as the GREEK kids end the first half of Season 3 with “Friend or Foe”!

It’s been a great season so far and while there have been a lot of changes, some things remain the same. That’s the great thing and the semi-annoying thing about GREEK. It’s been fun watching Dale lose his innocence and become somewhat of a perv this season but more times than not, it seemed extreme even for someone that had forsaken the notorious G-O-D. Rusty and Dale started off as the new ODD COUPLE but over the last 3 years have really grown into best friends that rely on each other whether they want to accept it or not. That’s why its been so frustrating to watch them devolve into frenemies.

Same goes for Cappy and Evan. They’ve spent the last 3 years trying to forget they were ever BFF’s and the minute they accept each other and find friendship again, the same person that split them apart comes back to do the job again… or is she the one to truly bring them back together again?

Don’t even get me started on Calvin and Grant

Regardless of my little gripes, this truly has been a fun season of GREEK and I’m sad that it won’t be weekly viewing for a while.

Tonight, expect the unexpected (but no Chenbot)… There’s finally a shout out to someone’s previous Disney musical past. There’s a crazy fun dance number that I couldn’t believe Spencer Grammar could pull off. There’s tension, sex, people being expelled and an 80s song by the Talking Heads rocks Frat Row!

Check out a special sneak peek at GREEK’s Mid-Season Finale (which happens to have one my favorite part of the night):

GREEK wraps their Fall semester tonight on ABC Family. Do not miss out!

Tonight is the finale to one of my favorite summer shows, NURSE JACKIE! It has been a very intense season for Jacks and the crew at All Saints but honestly, haven’t you fucking loved every second of it?

NURSE JACKIE brought the hotness monster that is Peter Facinelli back into our lives; PUSHING DAISIES’ Swoozie Kurtz back to TV as a lesbian Mom; two more gays (MoMo and Thor) to the summer lineup; a hottie husband (Dominic Furmosa) with a heart of gold; the stylinist doctor on TV with the sharpest tongue (Eve Best as O’Hara); and hands down my favorite new character of the summer… Zoey (Merritt Wever FTW)!

Obviously then there’s the titular character of Jacks played by the always incredible Edie Falco. Jackie’s a pill poppin’, lying, cheating, scheming and swindlin’ woman we really should hate but in reality fucking love. She’s screwed up, her morals are all over the place and she’s got bad hair but at the end of the day she’s doing what she thinks makes up for all the wrong in the world (or that she’s created) and for that you can’t help but love her.

Tonight, everything comes crashing down on Jacks and the rest of the All Saints staff so get ready to laugh and possibly cry at the season finale of NURSE JACKIE. Just so you know… it’s so good that you’ll be pissed the season’s over and that these characters are gone for another 9 months.

Check out two preview from tonight’s finale:

NURSE JACKIE airs tonight at 10:30pm on Showtime

SUPERNATURAL Season 4 Finale - Sam and Ruby

SUPERNATURAL just wrapped up their best season yet and I can’t even begin to wrap my head about the twists and emotional turns from last night’s finale but I’ll try…

Last summer all I could think about was how Dean Winchester would climb his way out of hell and when I saw the Comic-Con footage after interviewing the boys (and the Ghostfacers), I never in a million years would have imagined a divine intervention. Listen to the entire Supernatural Comic-Con 2008 Panel

When the screener landed on my doorstep complete with a bible and a seal to be broken just to watch the premiere, I knew we were in for one hell of a season! Sam spent his summer brushing up on his demon powers while scouring the countryside with Ruby and that bitch Lilith began the cycle of breaking the 66 seals in hopes of bringing the pain. Along the way, Kripke and Co. proved that Supernatural would prove to be funny, entertaining and scary as hell!

We saw that the boys were a little different in High School (“After School Special”), we met, blinded and killed Pamela Barnes (RIP girly), Billie Jean proved she’s still a legend in the seasons creepiest episode (“Family Matters”), the boys found out they’re horror/fantasy/slash fiction icons (“The Monster at the End of This Book”), Dean got the Brother he always wanted (“Sex & Violence”) just before we met their real brother from another Mother in “Jump the Shark”. I never could have predicted that my favorite show would get even better 4 seasons in. Kudos gang.

We were introduced to God’s warriors, the Angels. Castiel (Misha Collins, hands down the best addition to the show aside from Bobby), Uriel (one surly bitch), Anna (glad to see the MAD woMEN working outside the 60’s) and Zachariah (the always awesome Brad Fuller) played and pitted the boys against each other as much as their demon counterparts. The various incarnations of Ruby, Lilith and Alaistair were menacing, relentless, sexy, creepy and in the end scary manipulative in bringing upon the apocalypse.

Throughout the season the boys were double crossed by both sides and ultimately each other. Tensions were high and the body count even higher. When it was all said and done though, SUPERNATURAL proved once again that two Winchesters are better than one (well unless you’re trying to raise Lucifer himself – whoopsy).

In the end, I was shocked to learn that Ruby was the mastermind behind Sam’s demon spiral and that she played that boy like a fiddle for a full year. I didn’t think she had it in her but obviously, trusting a demon bitch like Ruby bit all of us in the ass. I’ve never read the Bible and don’t know God from a Witch’s tit so maybe I should have seen it coming but holy frak, I couldn’t believe Lilith was the final seal and that Zachariah was down with bringing about another war! Quite the shocker for Sam, Dean and yours truly.

I love that Kripke and Co. didn’t shy away from betraying everyone, from having the brothers almost kill each other, from bringing the apocalypse and from raising Lucifer!

There’s been talk that Season 5 will be the last and I’m 100% down with that. The show is so kick ass intense and focused right now that I’d hate to see The CW force more than was intended from Kripke and our beloved Winchesters. I know it will hurt to see them go but wouldn’t it be better to end the show on a creative high and at the creators hand than a networks greed?

Think about it, embrace it and let the Winchester’s enter their hopefully final season as fucking legends!

*Also, just one last mention that Supernatural lost one of their family this year when Kim Manners passed away in January. He was an amazing Director and an incredible force on the show and continues to be missed.

SUPERNATURAL Season 4 Finale - Sam and Ruby

I’m in denial about tonight’s season finale of SUPERNATURAL. This season has been so spectacular that I don’t want it to end.

I don’t like that the boys are at odds when the season started with the Winchester’s working so hard to reunite and to be together. I don’t like that the demons have chosen Sam to fight Lilith and the angels have chosen Dean. I don’t like that they’re fighting the apocalypse from separate sides and with different agendas. I don’t like that

And when I say “I don’t like” I mean that I frakkin’ love it!

There are so many possibilities of ways to end this fantastic season of SUPERNATURAL and I’m not even going to speculate on how it will actually go down. I learned my lesson with LOST… my fears came true on that finale so I’m not even gonna project anything onto the SUPERNATURAL season ender.

LOST Season 5 Finale - Jacob

If you haven’t yet watched the LOST Season 5 finale “The Incident” don’t go reading past this line because this bitch is about to go off…

Really Damon and Carlton?

Really?

Juliet?

You needed to take the only character I actually want to get off the island and drop her down the hatch drill hole after a gut wrenching goodbye? Really?

Then, for kicks… you have my girl wake up all bloody at the bottom of the hatch, realize she’s not dead (the horror) and then have her go out with a blast by detonating that bunk ass H-bomb Sayid rigged up? Really? Come on you sons-a-bitches!

Juliet Burke is the one character I want to see redeemed more than any other on LOST. I need Juliet to get off the island. I need Juliet to get back to Florida to see her sister Rachel. I need for Juliet to realize her fertility research and her life’s work helped give Rachel a child and that being conned into that island didn’t end everything for her.

To have Juliet go out as the possible savior of the island and our 815 survivors is great and all but gods dammit, she deserves to see that she did good by her sister and that she didn’t just abandon Rachel for nothing.

“Live Together, Die Alone” – I call bullshit…

We don’t know what detonating the Jughead will do. With any luck it will put the timeline back to 2004 or 2007 or wherever the frak they were before turning the donkey wheel and everyone will be in their original state and Juliet will still be alive. Like we’ve discovered over the years, not everyone dies on the island so maybe there’s a chance my girl makes it to the final season. Am I delusional? Does everyone not love Juliet/Elizabeth Mitchell as much as I do? Fuck…

I know I should talk about the rest of the episode but what do you say about such hugeness? I’m gonna skip over a lot here because there will be a 2 Idiots Talk LOST Podcast coming in a few days and most of it will be covered there but I want to talk about Jacob for a second.

Jacob… I think it was a little too convenient that he had visited all of our island friends at some point in their lives. I usually love that there is integration between pre-island and island life but this one seemed a little forced. Obviously, there is more to be learned but at first glance, that was my one and only issue with Jacob.

I love that we actually saw Jacob. I love that it was Rita’s ex-husband (from DEXTER). I love that he was not only a smug mother-frakker but one that wouldn’t apologize for being the almighty. I love that even when he knew he would die, he stuck it to Ben one last time. What was with the animosity and anger there? Ben had always blindly pledged his allegiance to Jacob but it was never enough… When he looked Ben in the eyes and said “what ABOUT you?” I thought, that’s way harsh, Tai Jacob… and I loved it.

So wait… Locke is actually dead and the Locke we’ve been following all season is the Charles Whidmore to Jacob’s Ben Linus? My simple mind can’t comprehend that yet. I need more in the final season to really even begin to talk about this development. It makes my brain hurt the same way it does when I think about why we can’t just print more money…

All in all, I liked it but didn’t love this finale. As far as LOST season ender’s go, this is one of their weakest. I think my fear for Juliet tainted the episode for me from the beginning. I think all the tomb, sand and torch action has my mind in a haze because I don’t know that I’m loving that stuff and I fear they’ll veer too far from the heart of the show which are the original 815 survivors.

We’re heading into the final season and there’s now a whole new Jacob/non-Locke storyline to pursue not to mention redemption, absolution and fulfillment for the people we’ve been following for the last 6 seasons. That’s Salada tea plot to deal with folks! I’m nervous…

Oh wait, can we talk about Sun and Jin for a second? What’s with not reuniting these two? A whole season apart? What’s that all about? Rough…

Sayid? Is the dude a goner? Don’t forget he’s just lying there bleeding to death whilst the rest of them go all Commando on the Dharma 77.

Rose and Bernard escaping flaming arrows and the rest of the 815 survivors? Hilarious. I love that they’ve been on the run from the group for 3 years in hopes of spending their Golden Years in peace and quiet with Vincent as their companion. Brilliant!!!

I’m sure I’ll watch “The Incident” a few more times and my mind grapes will come up with more things to talk about so stay tuned.

What did you cats think about the finale? Do share…

Survivor: Gabon Cast

SURVIVOR: GABON ended last night and I’m damn pleased with Bob the Physics teacher being the winner this season. The show has been up and down for the last couple seasons but I think Gabon was one of the best they’ve ever done. There was crazy scheming, brutal personality clashes and some of the best backstabbing and strategic gameplay the show has ever seen.

Bob was a lovable waif-ish man that just flew under the radar for the first third of the season. We knew him as the wacky bow tie guy, the workhorse, the friend but never really as Bob-one-day-i’ll-beat-all-yo-asses. As we got into the final stretch that man kicked each and every players ass week after week, it was amazing. I slowly found myself loving the man that would soon look most like Jack Skellington. Hands down, Bob deserved to be in the final 3 and I’m pretty sure he deserved to win the entire shebang.

I will though make a case for Sugar. She was the girl who spent 1/4 of her time on the show at Exile Island. 10 out of 39 days were spent alone, outside the game and it worked to her advantage. Because she was gone so much, people underestimated the once homeless pin-up chik and before they knew it she had a hand in taking each of their heads off. I was pissed that no one showed her some love when it came time to vote. Game-wise Sugar was the player Kenny thought he could be. She was the player Ace wanted to be. She was the player that outplayed most of the Surivors and the one who irked them so much that they couldn’t see past her emotional state during the game to award her for taking them all out. Sugar, my pasties are off to you girlfriend, you deserved better than 3rd place.

Suzy? For reals?

The most aggravating part of any and all Survivor finales (except for that heinous remembrance walk crap) is when the Jury gets to make complete asses out of themselves. I hate how each and every single one of them thinks it’s their time to make television gold happen. Even the sane ones lose their shit when it comes to the Jury addressing the finalists. Case in point, Marcus going off on Suzy. I thought he was a normal dude until that happened. WTF Dr. Marcus Welby MD? Corrine and her crazy ass; I could smell the desperation dripping off her fake titties and greasy perm. Do these people really think they’ll become stars someday? Wake up idiots.

Then there’s Randy. Randy is the unabomber. Randy is the crazy border patrol/survivalist who lives in a bunker kinda crazy. Did he make great television? You betcha. Is he completely unstable and about a week away from throwing a shoe at President Bush? For sure. Watch your asses everyone, that man will take us all out someday.

All in all, I had a blast watching this season of Survivor thanks to all the amazing blindsides and the nut jobs playing the game. Kudos Survivor, you can still kick some major ass.

Swingtown Finale - Susan and Janet on the beach

Friday night’s finale of CBS’s surprisingly amazing SWINGTOWN made me cry my eyes out on more than one occasion. There was this overwhelming sadness watching what was probably the final hour of a show that deserved so much more attention than it received.

Swingtown surpassed it’s randy premise and proved to be a show about change on the cusp of the bicentennial and it only got better as the summer went on. No longer was it about Grant Show in the shortest shorts possible bedding every Trina, Susan and Farrah, it was about relationships, family and women on the verge of independence at an important time in American history.

Look at the transformation of Trina! She went from an almost one dimensional Barbarella to feeling responsible for the breakdown of the families around her and ultimately a child. Trina slowly became one of the most complex characters on the show and I loved watching her metamorphosis. Her friendship with Susan showed loyalty and guidance while her friendship with Janet showed true heart, generosity and shockingly maternal instinct. Her final moment on the beach with Tom had me bawling my eyes out. Lana Parrilla’s vulnerability and subtlety made me all mushy. Much like Trina, I half expected Tom to walk away and hate the idea of them becoming parents. Those Deckers surprised the shit out of me this summer and that was the one of the biggest thrills in watching Swingtown.

Then there’s Janet, that anal perfectionist who went from house frau to almost hip advice columnist by the end of the summer. Her transformation was shocking! Janet always provided a level of comic relief because she was so over the top in keeping up appearances at any cost. She was almost a caricature of the 50’s housewife and that’s why it worked. As Trina pointed out in the finale, they were no longer in the 50’s and she as a woman, as a wife, as a mother has a voice. Janet and Trina’s friendship was probably my favorite on the show. Two of the most unlikely characters found a way to change each others lives and found common ground despite their lifestyle differences and each was the better for it.

Hell, Janet barely flinched when Henry came out to her and this is a woman that was full of Country Club family standards so that was HUGE! Let’s hope she remembers her reaction in a summer or two when her own son probably does the same thing. Please that kid wanks it nightly thinking about his best friend and hoping his name (B.J.) comes true.

More about Swingtown after the jump… (more…)

LOST Season 4 finale - Desmond and Penny

I wish I could tell you all that GMMR and I had a special 2 Idiots Talk Lost podcast available this morning but with my moving and her seeing Sex & The City tonight, you’re going to have to wait a couple days.

Instead you get me, just 1 Idiot Talking Lost – and talking about it in the most random, high level, non-sensical way I’m sure. I don’t even know where to begin…

Overall I have to say that I loved the episode. I also have to admit that I’m not the most critical about LOST. I’m a viewer that likes to sit back and let the show take me wherever it wants to take me. That means I accept that the island can be moved, I accept that most of the time a dead person is never really dead, and that there’s always more than meets the eye (and/or ear) when it comes to all things LOST. While I might be confused about things right now, or think that things are ridonk, I have faith in the show and the incredible writing staff that in due time it will all work itself out and I’m along for the ride no matter what. I’m blindly faithful to this show and that’s how I like it.

    My Thoughts:

  • I love that the finale began where the finale ended last year and that we got even more of that amazing scene by the airport. So much was revealed. There was a damn good slap, talk about Aaron, mention of Jeremy Bentham and how he’s contacting all the survivors – WTF!, and then there was the set up for Sawyer’s exit from the helicopter in Kate saying how traumatic the day they left was. Both Matthew Fox and Evangeline Lilly killed that scene once again.
  • How about that incredible fight scene on the island between evil Keamy, The Others, Ben, Kate and Sayid? It was like the dino scene in King Kong with all the chaos – took my breath away with the frantic non-stop action. And once again for the record Richard Alpert is one creepy ass hot ageless dude. Oh and what about Ben just being so nonchalant about Kate and Sayid taking the chopper to leave the island? I love that Benry Gale Ben Linus when he’s on a mission.
  • Rose, girl you crack me up with your sharp tongue. Watching her lay the smackdown on Miles was high-larious! I love that Rose – but where the hell was Bernard?
  • Miles and Charlotte. He’s one creepy dude but he’s growing on me. I love that he read Charlotte and knew that she had ulterior motives for wanting to come on this expedition. I did hear her say that she’s been trying to find the place she was born correct? So does that mean Charlotte is from the island? A child BORN on the island? Crazy talk. Did she leave the island after she was born and that’s why all other women die before giving birth? Did that bitch ruin it for everyone? Could she be another spawn of Widmore? Aack!
  • Locke’s ascension to power. It’s been a long time coming and it was wonderful to see good things happening for John Locke no matter how wacky and new agey they may be. I’ve always loved Locke’s dedication to the island and after seeing Richard visit him (as a child) a couple weeks back, it really was destiny that Locke found the island. But how did he leave the island and become Jeremy Bentham? I’m assuming he has to be Jeremy Betham because technically John Locke is supposed to be dead but can he leave the island like Richard and Tom or did he have to move the island again in order to leave? It’s too much!

I’m so excited for the season finale of LOST tonight that I might piddle. Seriously, I cannot even imagine what they have in store for us and what direction they’re going to throw the show for Season 5; the anticipation is almost too much.

Will we find out if a bunch of the castaways died? Will we find out if Claire is really pushing daisies with her Father or if she’s been part of the plan all along? Will we find out if Penny is still searching for Desmond? Will we find out if others left the island with Ben but without being part of the Oceanic 6 (Juliet I’m looking at you)? Will someone finally kill that rat bastard Keamy? I don’t care for his ways or that rat face of his.

Also tonight is yet another night of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE auditions! Sure, yesterday I posted pics from DC thinking that they were going to be shown last night – look at them now and pretend they’re new to you because tonight the show really does go to DC.

In case you’re wondering… No, there are no prospects yet for the newest SYTYCD TV Boyfriend. It’s hard to concentrate on the boys when I know My BF Travis Wall is going to show up at some point. It almost feels like cheating.

Now for the sad news… Jon and I are moving into our new place tomorrow and sadly I’m going to be without cable and the internet until Tuesday night. Wha-wha-what?! I’m sick over it, honestly. I’ve tried everything I could to reason with Comcast but they’re not really budging. I got them to move up the appointment by 24 hours and I’ve made it onto their weekend “cancellation” list – fingers crossed someone cancels!

My luck its going to be Saturday while I’m at the starting date of the TRUE COLORS TOUR. No one gets between me and my Cyndi Lauper!

That means I’m going to miss BATTLESTAR tomorrow night as well as DOCTOR WHO. I can’t even TIVO them because I’ll have no service. I’m going to cry myself a river of tears now so pardon me.

Have a great weekend if I don’t blog again until next week!

Bones Season 3 Finale (Angela and Bones in Limbo)

Yesterday I spent my entire waiting time and actual flight time watching every post-strike episode of BONES, all the way through this weeks finale. I just now finished the finale and I’m actually hurt by the turn of events. I’m not going to lie, I cried big tears in the final moments of the episode and I wished I’d given Gorgomon’s Apprentice something as well.

Notice I’m being vague in who within the Jeffersonian was associated with the crazy ass secret society, silver bones, and killing lobbyist business… not any more. My next sentence will spoil it for anyone who hasn’t yet watched the finale or even caught up with this season of BONES.

Hands down one of the highlights of the mega-bloated AMERICAN IDOL finale. I couldn’t have picked a better pairing for this song. One Republic’s “Apologize” for some reason is a song I don’t get sick of and I’m not tired of little Archie harmonizing with the boys either.

Watch David Archuleta Sing “Apologize” with One Republic from American Idol Season Finale

We said we’d be back with another TV Talk Podcast in a week but it took almost a week and a half, I think you survived just fine. GMMR was at the Upfront presentations so there’s plenty to talk about including her celebrity sightings, stalkings, and dancing partners. We’ll even talk about Joss Whedon’s DOLLHOUSE and J.J. Abrams FRINGE starring GMMR’s mega crush Josh Jackson. So You Think You Can Dance might get a couple minutes or five along with her time with The Office and Tina Fey!

Back to your regularly scheduled podcast, we head right into GOSSIP GIRL, AMERICAN IDOL, THE OFFICE, GREY’S, BATTLESTAR GALACTICA and more. Plus, it’s the return of TWO IDIOTS TALK LOST (*we talk about the finale being this week but listener Michael pointed out that it’s not until May 29th – phew!) where we rehash the first hour of the three hour Season 4 finale, once again proving that even idiots can enjoy Lost. And as a bonus feature, we have a special guest to help us talk about the Season 3 finale of The CW’s SUPERNATURAL.

Sit back and relax because this Podcast almost hits 90 minutes. You read that right, 90 minutes of babbling, giggling, bitching, and TV Talk!

Yes, my girl Whitney just won Season 10 of America’s Next Top Model! This is the first fuller figured/plus sized model to ever make it that far in the game. Hands down, she was the right pick. She’s curvy, she’s drop dead gorgeous and seriously fierce on the runway. Work it girl!

Here are my favorite pictures of Whitney from ANTM 10…

SUPERNATURAL concludes its 3rd season this Thursday night and here are some preview clips and photos from the episode entitled: “No Rest for the Wicked”. I cannot believe that the season has come to an end already but I’m psyched to know that Supernatural will live to see another season in the exact same time slot. Thanks for sticking with the boys CW!
