Fall 2008 is a hell of a long way away but that doesn’t mean NBC wants you to forget about their mega-hit HEROES. When last we saw the show, hot ass Sylar was in a dirty alley next to a crack den and a back-alley abortion station when we learned that Chapter 3 would be called “Villians“.
Watch the first glimpse of Heroes: Villians now:
In casting news for HEROES, Jane (Brea Grant) from Friday Night Lights has been added as well as Bruce Boxleitner. Does this mean we’ll be spared the Emily Valentine routine for Landry next season? I hope so.

You know I love me some horror and I’m pleased to announce that NBC is getting in the game with a new series called FEAR ITSELF. Similar to Showtime’s Masters of Horror anthology series, Fear Itself will pair horror directors with horror writers and a bunch of hollywood b and c-listers to try and scare the bejesus out of us. Can’t wait for Brad Anderson and Mary Harron!
BURBANK — March 3, 2008 — A host of provocative directors, actors and writers — including award-winning directors John Landis (”An American Werewolf in London”), Darren Bousman (”Saw II, III and IV”), Ronny Yu (”Freddy vs. Jason,” “Bride of Chucky”), Brad Anderson (”The Machinist”), Breck Eisner (upcoming Universal Pictures film “Creature from the Black Lagoon”), Mary Harron (”American Psycho”), Stuart Gordon (”Re-Animator”) and Ernest Dickerson (NBC’s
“Heroes”) — have been signed for NBC’s “Fear Itself,” a new 13-episode suspense and horror anthology series from Lionsgate in association with Industry Entertainment.
Brandon Routh (”Superman Returns”), Shiri Appleby (”Charlie Wilson’s War”), Elisabeth Moss (”Mad Men”), Cynthia Watros (”Lost”), Eric Roberts (NBC’s “Heroes”), John Billingsley (Star Trek: Enterprise”), Russell Hornsby (”Lincoln Heights”), Pablo Schreiber (”The Wire”), Stephen Lee (”Boston Legal”), Stephen R. Hart (”Shoot ‘Em Up”), Jack Noseworthy (”Judging Amy”) and Larry Gilliard Jr. (”The Wire”) are among the sought-after actors who will be portraying various characters in three episodes of the series.
Among the writers set are Joe Gangemi (”Wind Chill,” the novel “Inamorata”), Steve Niles (”30 Days of Night”), Dan Knauf (”Carnivàle,” “Supernatural”), Lem Dobbs (”The Score”), Matt Venne (”White Noise 2: The Light”), Richard Chizmar & Johnathan Schaech (”Masters of Horror,” “From a Buick 8″), Victor Salva (”Jeepers Creepers”), Mick Garris (”Riding the Bullet,” “Amazing Stories”),
Drew McWeeny & Scott Swan (”Masters of Horror”), Kelly Kennemer (”The Music Within”) and Max Landis (”Masters of Horror”).
The announcement was made today by Teri Weinberg, Executive Vice President, NBC Entertainment. “We’ve teamed up with some of the most illustrious writers, actors and directors to create a distinctive, scare-filled series that will push the boundaries of this classic genre,” said Weinberg. “‘Fear Itself’ will deliver memorable and horrifying moments that will keep fans on the edge of their seats, begging for more on this fun-filled ride of terror.”
“We and our partners at Industry Entertainment couldn’t be happier about NBC’s enthusiastic support of ‘Fear Itself’ and the caliber of artists who have been drawn to the project,” said Kevin Beggs, Lionsgate’s President of Television Programming and Production. “Our goal is to offer audiences a fantastic thrill every week and we’ve certainly got the all-star team to do it.”
“Eater,” is directed by Stuart Gordon (”Re-Animator,” “Masters of Horror”) and written by Cemetery Dance Magazine publisher and editor Richard Chizmar (”From a Buick 8″) & actor Johnathon Schaech (”Masters of Horror,” “That Thing You Do!”). A rookie cop (Moss) must spend her first night in the precinct watching over a serial killer, coined “The Eater” (Stephen R. Hart, “Shoot ‘Em Up”). When her fellow cops start acting bizarre, she quickly learns that no one is
who they seem. Russell Hornsby (”Lincoln Heights”), Pablo Schreiber (”The Wire”) and Stephen Lee (”Boston Legal”) also star.
“Spooked,” is directed by Brad Anderson (”The Machinist”) and written by Matt Venne (”White Noise 2: The Light”). While on a stake out in a haunted house, a private eye (Roberts) is made to confront the demons of his past. Jack Noseworthy (”Judging Amy”), Cynthia Watros (”Lost”) and Larry Gilliard Jr. (”The Wire”) also star.
“Community” is directed by Mary Harron (”American Psycho,” “The Notorious Betty Page,” “Big Love”) and written by Kelly Kennemer (”The Music Within”). When a young married couple, played by Routh and Appleby, find the perfect house in the perfect neighborhood, their lives seem…well…perfect. But as the dark underbelly of their neighborhood creeps to the surface, they soon realize that their neighbors will go to any extreme — even murder — to make sure that they comply with their twisted sense of conformity. John Billingsley (Star Trek: Enterprise”) also stars.
“Red Snow” has a screenplay written by Mick Garris (”Riding the Bullet,” “Amazing Stories”), from a story by Del Howison (”Dark Delicacies”). Breck Eisner (”Creature from the Black Lagoon”) will direct. When four criminals find themselves stranded in an old, snow-covered fort, they slowly discover both the fort and the seductive trio of sirens who reside there are filled with deadly
secrets.
“Chance” is written by Lem Dobbs (”The Score”), with a director to be announced later. In the vein of such classic doppelganger stories as “Jekyll & Hyde” and Poe’s “William Wilson,” the episode explores a dreadful, classic battle that ensues when a man is confronted by his evil self.
“New Year’s Day” will be directed by Darren Bousman (”Saw II, III and IV”), and is written by Steve Niles (”30 Days of Night”) from a story by Paul Kane. A young woman wakes up in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by horrifying zombies.
“Family Man” will be directed by Ronny Yu (”Freddy vs. Jason,” “Bride of Chucky”) and is written by Dan Knauf (”Carnivàle,” “Supernatural”). This action-charged, psychological thriller focuses on a likeable family man who switches bodies with a serial killer after a near-death experience. Now, he
must fight from behind bars to keep the murderer from adding his family to the long list of victims.
“Skin & Bones” is written by Drew McWeeny & Scott Swan (”Masters of Horror”) with a director to be announced later. When a cattle herder returns home to his family after being lost in the woods for days, he just doesn’t seem the same. Soon, a terrible mortal struggle ensues against the terrifying monster possessing him.
“Something With Bite” is a reinvention of the classic werewolf story from writer Max Landis (”Masters of Horror”), the son of John Landis. Ernest Dickerson (NBC’s “Heroes”) will direct.
In “Nightmare in Lace,” John Landis (”An American Werewolf in London”) will direct an episode written by Victor Salva (”Jeepers Creepers”). On her wedding day, a beautiful bride receives a mysterious note that reads: “The person you are marrying is a serial killer.”
HEROES hottie Hayden Panettiere has befriended HANNAH MONTANA star Miley Cyrus and the two have hit the town in celebration of Dance! That’s Randy Jackson’s AMERICA’S BEST DANCE CREW (which I’m secretly loving - Shane Sparks is the man). Here are a couple shots of Hayden P and Hannah Montana that were sent to me by my pal Gossip Guy.
The Screen Actors Guild Award Nominations are out and listed below. I have to say that while I’m excited for Mad Men, Michael C. Hall, Glenn Close, Alec Baldwin, Tina Fey, and The Office Cast nod — I’m pissed that Friday Night Lights is once again being shut out. Connie Britton is acting her ass off out there in Texas and noone seems to be taking notice. This is hands down my biggest problem at the moment, give the girl some respect. The show also should have been nominated for Ensemble. That’s bullshit.
Also, seriously no How I Met Your Mother for Ensemble Comedy? Come on… Lost? Matthew Fox? Someone’s huffing some strong stuff over there in LaLaLand.

The SAG Awards are supposed to be held January 27th but who knows what will happen with the whole WGA Strike issue.
I don’t really mean this but let me tell you, I’m one stink stank stunk Grinch this week. I’ve seen no TV since Monday night’s crapfest Clash of the Choirs. I didn’t get to see Kelly Rowland’s Choir go home on Tuesday, nor did I see Michael Bolton’s long overdue exit last night. My boss updates me on all of it.
Tuesday night was our Theatre’s holiday party and before it I was doing a mad dash to get some presents before I go home to see the parents this weekend. I got everything except my Dad and Stepmom done whom I cursed up and down — even this morning.
So that meant last night I had to venture back out. Traffic was insane once again and it took me an hour to go what is normally a 10 minute drive to Target. Sucked. I get there, bitch out 2 employees for not even being willing to help me find the item I’m looking for (says 6 in stock). Then I bitch out a Manager for having twunts for employees and even he couldn’t find the present I was looking for. I was foul by the time I left that place, and I normally love me some Target so you know I had to be in a bad mood for me to freak on a Target employee.
Tonight Jon has to hit up another Target near his work to get this last damn present and then I’m done! Laundry, packing, and lots and lots of wrapping are on tap for tonight. Tomorrow its off to the ‘cuse for a quickie Xmas before my parents head to Texas on Xmas Eve.
I’m having TV withdrawl. I miss Pushing Daisies. I miss Heroes. I miss Friday Night Lights. Hell, even Project Runway was a rerun last night. What? It’s been on for like a week, we need reruns already? That was my only saving grace for last night. Nothing.
I know I’ve been pretty lax with the WGA updates of late but seriously, it’s a lot of back and forth that sometimes I don’t even understand so I figure I’ll wait until something big that impacts the viewers is news worthy before posting again.
HEROES Chapter 2 “Generations” Ends and “Villians” Begins
Heroes just ended and if you read my post earlier today you know that I’m ripshit right now! I cannot believe that they killed Nathan Petrelli. Come on folks, you gave the man nothing all season and then you have him die in his one moment of glory? I know it was poetic and powerful and all but come on give a brother a break.
Tonight was a really good finale, it was on par with the last couple episodes and it was actually better than last season’s finale. They promised deaths and we got them in spades. First Maya was shot by Sylar then revived by Claire’s blood. Next Niki blew to bits while saving Monica and that one looks like it might actually stick (and I’m not sad in the least). Then came the blow I knew was going to come… the death of Nathan Petrelli as he was seconds away from exposing the fact that there are people amongst us that have some very special powers.
The big question now is who killed Nathan Petrelli? It was a man, tan and slender wearing a ball cap. Is it someone we already know or someone new? Is it perhaps HRG? He did make a deal with Bob that would put him back in the service of The Company which would get them off Claire’s back forever. Is it possibly West? Seems awfully convenient that he tried to convince Claire not to go public just a matter of seconds before her Dad walked into the house, already in cahoots with The Company. Is West HRG’s new partner?
I’m at least safe in knowing that they didn’t kill either of my two new favorites… Adam and Elle. Adam though could have some trouble coming around any time soon. After convincing Peter to break into the Primatech vault holding the Shanti virus and tangling with that time tripping Hiro he was made to lie down for a few… in a coffin… trapped, buried alive probably for another 400 years. In Adam’s case, being immortal frakkin’ sucks right now.
My girl Elle tried her darndest to live up live up to Bob’s expectations and tried to take Sylar down on her own. After a nice bout of gun and lightning play Sylar escaped with Mohinder’s bag of blood goodies. While Elle thought her Dad would surely kill her for messing it all up, she soon realized that there’s possibly more joy in saving people than killing them. She got a kick out of knowing that her Dad would be proud that she saved Maya, Mohinder, and that pesky little girl that just won’t die, Molly.
It was a fast paced hour and I’m really sad to know that HEROES won’t return until some undetermined date in 2008. To wet our appetite, they did just as they had last season and gave us a preview of the next chapter in the Heroes story. HEROES Chapter 3 is called “Villians” and it began with Sylar regaining his powers, including that creepy ass ticking clock noise when he’s working his smokin’ hot evil mojo.
Oh yeah, another question left open… what the hell happened to Caitlin after Peter destroyed the Shanti virus? Essentially that should have erased the apocolyptic future she was trapped in, right? Oh, and one more… who was Mama Petrelli talking to after watching Nathan perish on live television? The plot thickens.
HEROES Chapter 2 “Generations” concludes tonight with “Powerless” which may or may not be the last new episode until next Fall. Only the WGA Strike will tell.
“Powerless” Clips
Featuring Sylar and Maya with Suresh, Elle opening up to HRG, and Adam with Peter.
“Powerless” Trailer
“Powerless” Description
IT’S HERO VS. HERO AS THE SERIES’ “VOLUME II: GENERATIONS” COMES TO AN EXPLOSIVE, BLOODY FINISH — Deep below Primatech Paper in Odessa, TX, Peter’s (Milo Ventimiglia) reunion with Nathan (Adrian Pasdar) turns violent when the brothers, Matt (Greg Grunberg) and Hiro (Masi Oka) all clash thanks to Adam (David Anders) and his pursuit of the deadly Shanti Virus. After watching his heroic cousin captured by a street gang, Micah (Noah Gray-Cabey) turns to the one person who can help him save Monica (Dana Davis) — his mom (Ali Larter). Meanwhile, Maya (Dania Ramirez) tragically learns how much of a monster Sylar (Zachary Quinto) really is during his kidnapping of Molly (Adair Tishler) and Suresh (Sendhil Ramamurthy). Meanwhile, Elle (Kristen Bell) decides to play hero to get back into her father’s (Stephen Tobolowsky) good graces.

All I have to say is that if either of the 2 people that are supposed to die are Nathan or Adam I’m going to be pissed. Nathan has been screwed out of a story this season and we’re just now getting into Adam’s story. I think KBell is safe as well because she’s so not fulfilled her episode commitment yet.

It’s Friday morning and I thought I’d assess where I’m at with my missed viewings. It’s been a busy week for the Duckster and that means I’ve missed a small amount of telelvision.
Let’s go all the way back to Monday shall we. Monday evening I helped out with the Boston Jewish Film Festival so I missed all of my shows. I took Tuesday late afternoon as the opportunity to catch HIMYM and
