Here’s a clip from tonight’s BIONIC WOMAN episode entitled “Trust Issues.”
Jaime and Antonio (Isaiah Washington) set out to foil an assassination plot, but Jaime has doubts about her partner’s intentions after overhearing a conversation he has with the would-be killer. Elsewhere, Jaime invites Tom to her home to meet Becca.
Finally, ABC has released a couple of GREY’S ANATOMY Season 4 Promos and I hate to admit it, it’s got me psyched, seriously.
Grey’s Anatomy Season 4 Sneak Peek – Our Ex-Interns Meet The Newbies:
Another Sneak Peek at Grey’s Anatomy Season 4:
How crazy is it to see George as an Intern, working under Meredith? It’s humiliating to watch… I love it! Christina is trying to become the new Nazi and it’s hysterical. Alex’s hair is bothersome. Izzie’s deflation at realizing those interns don’t already know to follow her was just superb. Heigl, I loves ya!
With Private Practice shaping up to be a huge flop (sadly, the pilot sucks) and Isaiah out of the way, I guess I can look forward to Grey’s Anatomy again.
Jason Katims has joined the creative team at BIONIC WOMAN. Ausiello has the scoop, but in general, the Roswell creator and Friday Night Lights Executive Producer will be working his magic as a consulting producer for the possibly ailing NBC reboot.
I wonder if Isaiah Washington will grill Katims about Katherine Heigl’s mouth from back in the day.

Premise:
Struggling as a bartender and surrogate mom to her teenage sister, Jaime Sommers (Michelle Ryan, “EastEnders”) didn’t think life could get much harder. But when a devastating car accident leaves her at death’s door, Jaime’s only hope for survival is a cutting-edge, top-secret technology that comes at a hefty price.
With a whole new existence and a debt to re-pay, Jaime must figure out how to use her extraordinary abilities for good — while weighing the personal sacrifices she will have to make. Ultimately, it’s Jaime’s journey of self-discovery and inner strength that will help her embrace her new life as the Bionic Woman in this new action-drama series.
Also starring are: Miguel Ferrer (“Crossing Jordan”) as Jonas Bledsoe, the man who employs Jaime’s boyfriend; Molly Price (“Third Watch”) as Ruth Treadwell, Jonas’ second-in-command; Chris Bowers (“Rescue Me”) as Will Anthros, Jaime’s boyfriend, who performs the operation; Will Yun Lee (“Witchblade”) as Jae Kim, the specialized operations leader; Lucy Kate Hale (“How I Met Your Mother”), as Jaime’s younger sister, Becca; and Mark Sheppard (“Battlestar Galatica”) as Dr. Anthony Anthros, Will’s father and the man who originated the bionic technology.
Ducky’s Thoughts: I was lucky enough to have seen the original pilot with Anne from Arrested Development as Jaime’s deaf sister so I can’t really compare it to this new pilot unless I get that before the season starts. I really liked the premise and while I loved the campy show from my youth, this is a good retooling ala Battlestar.
Michelle Ryan will be a huge star, no doubt about it. I love that Katee Sackhoff is such an integral part of the plot yet doesn’t have to be in every episode. She can come in and be a big crazy bitch, and she is – trust me, then disappear for a while.
I’m hoping that the pacing and some of the missed emotional beats will be worked on with the new pilot. Until then, fingers crossed.
So, as much as I don’t want to see Isaiah Washington ever again, I have to admit I find some joy in seeing Michelle Ryan kick his ass in this promo shot for BIONIC WOMAN.
Today is the premiere of STAR JONES‘ new self-titled Court TV show and her first guest? Ex-GREY’S ANATOMY hate-monger (allegedly) and current BIONIC WOMAN guest star ISAIAH WASHINGTON.
I must get word home because this needs to be DVR’d at all costs. 3pm EST – a must see.
*And yes I did find the worst picture of her as I could.
11:33 am: Regarding Isaiah Washington’s hiring, Smilovic says they “found the best actor for the role,” adding, “We believe in second chances.”
11:45 am: A reporter asks Smilovic whether Washington’s’s hiring shows any disrespect to the gay community. “Absolutely not,” he counters. “We embrace the gay community and we’re in no way making any judgments or statements about what was said or done [on Grey's].”
11:46 am: Another reporter suggests one way to make Washington atone for his sins would be to make him kiss another dude on the show. Smilovic balks at the idea, claiming it would break down the fourth wall. Translation: Ask him again when the overnight ratings come in for the premiere.
God I hope that Michael was the one who asked that question. This is something I was hoping would be addressed and I’m glad someone had the balls to ask if this was a slap in the face to the gay viewers. I’m still very torn on how I feel about this.
According to TVGuide, NBC’s BIONIC WOMAN has finally recast the deaf (still?) sister of Jaime Sommers.
Robin Sparkles dirty little sister from Canada on How I Met Your Mother is the new sibling on the NBC sure to be mega-hit. LUCY HALE will take over the role from Arrested Developments Ann, Egg, Mae Whitman.
This casting news doesn’t make me shiver like yesterday’s casting of Isaiah Washington.
**UPDATE – According to Ausiello’s TCA Blog, the sister will no longer be deaf and she’s suddenly a big computer nerd as well.
Wow, this actually made me throw up in my mouth a bit when I read it. Isaiah Washington is joining BIONIC WOMAN on NBC this fall for at least 5 episodes.
On Bionic, he’ll play an outsider with a mysterious agenda who is introduced early in the series and may either help the superpowered Jamie (Michelle Ryan, in the role first played by Lindsay Wagner) or take her down.
Washington has signed on for at least five episodes of the new drama, considered NBC’s strongest shot this fall, in a crop developed by former entertainment president Kevin Reilly, who has since moved to the same post at Fox.
This actually makes me sad and sick. I had such huge high hopes for BIONIC WOMAN. The pilot is great and I love the reimagining of the show ala Battlestar. My gut tells me to boycott the show now. Am I over reacting? I need a few moments to breathe.
How do I address this at Comic-Con without ruining any chance of receiving any NBC or Bionic Woman information in the future? Ideas?
After Elton has a hysterical look at the revelations that ex-Grey’s Anatomy but current crazy ass Isaiah Washington will discuss on tonight’s LARRY KING LIVE (tonight 9pm CNN).
Will we learn more about T.R.’s gay agenda? Will we learn the real reasons why Isaiah was fired in the first place? Does he have anger management issues? Does race really play a factor in your firing when you’re not the only person of color on the show or creating the show for that matter?

TV Guide is reporting that ex-Grey’s Anatomy star (but still currently unemployed) Isaiah Washington claims that Patrick Dempsey agrees that T.R. Knight should have been fired instead of Washington.
Wha-Wha-Wha-What you ask? Apparently T.R. has become such a bitch on set that he not only demanded Washington be fired but he demanded that his character be beefed up to leading man status…
Washington even says that no less than “McDreamy” would concur. Positing that Knight had been “very tactical” in seeking to get Washington — if not Patrick Dempsey, as well — off the ABC drama, Washington tells gay-rights activist/BET host Keith Boykin, “I know Patrick Dempsey has supported me by stating that if there is anyone that needs to be fired, it is T.R. Knight, because he has created such a negative environment on the set.” (TVGuide.com has in a request for comment from Dempsey’s publicist.)
At the crux of Knight’s alleged campaign is a feeling that “he has not been treated and given the same ‘leading man’ kinds of story lines” as his peers playing Burke and Derek, that “[George] was being treated very caricature-ish and dopey,” says Washington. Empowered by his costar’s semi-private (and then very public) use of the F-word, Knight leveraged his bosses into beefing up his role. Says Washington, “That’s why you see his character changing so significantly,” becoming this “uber he-man that’s sleeping with everyone.”
Washington says that Shonda Rhimes and the Grey’s brass “are not happy” about Knight’s alleged tactics, and “think that something has gone awfully awry with [T.R.'s] stability.” “I can freely say this now, because I am no longer a Disney employee and I am no longer gagged,” Washington says. “Everyone [from] the producers all the way up to [the studio] is very disappointed in the behavior of T.R. Knight.”
So what do you all think? Is our little T.R. a T.Y.R.A.N.T.? God, it would explain the crap storylines George found himself in for most of Season 2 wouldn’t it? I knew Shonda couldn’t have written such drivel. Or did she?
Well at least one gay wants the Ex-Grey’s Anatomy castmate rehired. Some lesbian activist has created a petition to get ABC back on the Burke Train and you know I’m not having it…
Jasmyne Cannick, a gay and lesbian activist who worked with Isaiah Washington on the Pan African Arts Festival, has authored a petition to get the actor hired back onto Grey’s Anatomy, saying that his axing has an air of racism. The decision to drop Washington “further adds to a disturbing new trend at ABC wherein minority actors have been dismissed at an alarming rate over the past two years,” says the petition, citing Star Jones (formerly of The View), Harold Perrineau (Lost) and Housewives’ trifecta of Alfre Woodard/Mehcad Brooks/Page Kennedy as examples. “One must ask themselves, What is going on?”
What’s more, Cannick argues to the New York Post, “Isaiah has done more for the gay and lesbian community than T.R. Knight did in or out of the closet. He did what they asked him to do [apologize and star in a PSA], and now they want to make sure he will never work again. At what point is enough enough?”
Sounds to me this is more of a racial issue than a gay issue. To my knowledge there was no talk of race being a factor in his firing. I highly doubt that ABC as a network has a mission to remove all color from their airwaves.
Cannick asked “What’s Going On?” What’s going on is that Star Jones sucks ass and looks like an alien (not to mention, she’s married to a big ole Queen), Harold Perrineau is not an actor with a wide range and his storyline had come to a screeching halt on LOST and bringing the Applewhite’s to Wisteria was never a good idea, white, black, asian, or otherwise it was an ill conceived story arc that the creators bailed on rather than find a way to make work.
I love Alfre Woodard and it was embarassing to see her reduced to such a role. Removing her family from that fictional hellmouth was the best thing that could have happened to her career.
Oh and PS, ABC is never going to backtrack on this one. It took them almost 7 months to fire him and they are surely not going to rock that boat again.
And PSS – Why on earth would Isaiah Washington want back on a show where more than half the cast thinks he’s a homophobe with rage issues? He’s obviously not wanted. He could never step back onto that set and be treated the way he would have pre-F word.
Ladies and Gentleman, Dr. Preston Burke has left the building. According to E!, the brewhaha over “the F word” paid off for T.R. Knight in more ways than one.
ABC Television Studio confirmed to E! News Thursday that Isaiah Washington will not be returning to Grey’s Anatomy this fall. Publicist Howard Bragman said that Washington got a call earlier in the day informing him that he was “not invited back to the show next season,” prompting this Network-inspired statement from the 43-year-old actor:“I’m mad as hell, and I’m not going to take it anymore.”
Just the other day, out and proud actor T.R. Knight (Dr. George O’Malley) was awarded a salary increase for Season 4 and then handed this on a silver platter. I can only imagine no matter how horrible the situation was that there is some sadness along with the good news that there are consequences to your actions of homophobia.
I hate to admit it, but I finally reached the point in Grey’s where I didn’t look at Dr. Burke as the semi-hate monger Washington. I actually started to like his character for the first time in 3 years toward the end of the whole wedding debacle. You know I’ve wanted Burke gone since Day 1 so please don’t be like, oh look at Dan jumping on the Let Burke Go bandwagon, honey I build the cart and fed the horses of that bandwagon…
I honestly didn’t expect this, wow! The E! article says it best though:
Actually, considering how angry ABC seemed right after Washington uttered an antigay slur backstage at the Golden Globe Awards in January—while denying he had ever called costar T.R. Knight such a thing last October during an argument with Patrick Dempsey—it was surprising that Washington lasted as long as he did.
So, it almost makes the studio’s decision not to re-up his contract a surprise, considering he hadn’t been tossed thus far.
My thoughts exactly… Season 4 will be different huh?
Not big news folks, Anne Coulter’s quite possibly the devil and we all have known this for years. Al Franken’s frequent run-ins with Coulter back in his book tour days was always entertaining but it really showcased that she’s a classless gal.
So why is she on this site today? Well, she was speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference and called North Carolina Senator John Edwards (you remember him, was gonna be our Vice President… now, Democratic Presidential hopeful) a “faggot.”
Yes, Isaiah Washington’s famous homophobic slur (or in some swept under the rug cirlces, “The F Word”) has moved into political potshotery…
“I was going to have a few comments on the other Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards, but it turns out you have to go into rehab if you use the word ‘faggot,’ so I — so kind of an impasse, can’t really talk about Edwards.”
