The WGA Strike is about to take away television but before that happens, there’s plenty for GMMR and I to talk about!

Dan and Kath are back for TV Podcast #16, and it’s all about the shows! It’s not about the strike, it’s just us talking about what we’ve loved and hated about television over the past couple weeks. I’m going to warn you now, it’s an hour long podcast. We haven’t talked in a while so sit back, relax, and listen to us in 2 sittings if that makes it easier. Thanks for sticking with us!

We tackle each day’s best and worst starting with Monday and working our way all the way to the lazy nights of Sunday. Chuck, HIMYM, Big Bang Theory, Prison Break, Heroes, House, Bones, Reaper, Pushing Daisies, Gossip Girl, Dirty Sexy Money, Private Practice, The Office, Grey’s Anatomy, Ugly Betty, Supernatural, Moonlight, Friday Night Lights, Torchwood, The Amazing Race, Brothers & Sisters, Dexter, and more. Phew, who’s tired already?

Tonight is when your television wants to explode. It’s too much, Wednesday’s are just simply too much. Let me pose a question to all of you out there. How do you watch 3 shows at once? How do you possibly try to watch your returning faves and the newbies and have a life and a relationship and whatever when there’s so much quality television on these days.

The shows that in a perfect world could be watched are as follows: AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL, GOSSIP GIRL, PRIVATE PRACTICE, BIONIC WOMAN, DIRTY SEXY MONEY and TOP CHEF. Next week it only gets worse when ABC adds my favorite PUSHING DAISIES but Top Chef drops after next week’s finale so there’s a free hour.

I’m dropping one or two shows from my schedule, have to… no way around it. This is when reality kicks in and says, “STOP WATCHING TELEVISION.” I’ll iTunes something to watch on the subway to and from work but I haven’t decided which 9pm show that will be. Bionic Woman will drop off iTunes in December (if its even added by NBC) so that could cause issues but I feel that is the one to go. When will the other networks jump on the ON DEMAND bandwagon like CBS has? That makes life easier as well. Come on now!

    Here’s what Ducky’s watching tonight:

America’s Next Top Model Cast Picture: Cycle 9
8pm – America’s Next Top Model has their Top 13 working a anti-smoking ad campaign which will surely be non-modely but I don’t care because I love the show.

    Gossip Girl on The CW
9pm – Gossip Girl’s first non-pilot episode is called “The Wild Brunch” and I can only hope it lives up to the hype.

Dirty Sexy Money, ABC Cast Photo
10pm – Dirty Sexy Money will finally introduce the world to the Darlings! I heart the Darlings!

    Also Premiering Tonight:
    Criminal Minds (CBS)n
    CSI:NY (CBS)
    Deal or no Deal (NBC)
    *New Show: BIONIC WOMAN (NBC)
    *New Show: LIFE (NBC)
    *New Show: PRIVATE PRACTICE (ABC)

     Sandra Oh, Grey’s Anatomy

What is my problem tonight. First I cry during Part 1 of Supernatural (from last week watched early tonight), then The Office slays me, now I just finished the last two hours of Grey’s Anatomy for the season and I’m a puddle.

    Seriously, I need some meds.

I’ve bitched and moaned for the last four months that Grey’s Anatomy had run itself into the ground. It had not only jumped sharks, but ferry boats, and the afterlife. I was so mad and disgusted with the direction of Grey’s that I lost hope in what was once one of my favorite shows on television.

Last week’s episode and tonight’s episode watched back to back restored my faith in Shonda Rhimes, the cast, the crew, and the world that is Seattle Grace. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still very upset about the Ferry debacle, and the whole George/Izzie crap but damnit… for two hours, the last two hours of this frustrating season I found peace and hope once again and remembered why I loved the show in the first place.

It’s honest, sometimes horribly disfiguringly honest and it’s emotional and real and it makes me cry and want to feel and want to experience the fictional lives of these interns on a recurring basis.

If I can somehow forgive a good 9 episodes, I think I can find my way back to a show that really has the potential to be one of the most heartfelt dramas around.

I remember how excited I was at this time last year when that really funny upfronts video came out with the men of Grey’s in the shower. I remember how I cried sitting at my desk at work when the promo video for The Fray’s “How to Save a Life” hit the internet and how insanely crazed I was for the third season to start.

I remember crying my eyes out as Izzie lay on the floor of the bathroom in her prom dress and Meredith came and they clutched hands and just squeezed the pain away.

These are the memories I want of Grey’s and Shonda and Co. managed to bring me there again for these last two hours. I appreciate that and I hope that it’s a sign of good things to come.

    Now, onto the finale thoughts…

Kate Walsh doing promo for PRIVATE PRACTICE

This is pretty funny. Gotta love ELLEN and her willingness to just call network brass. Kate Walsh couldn’t be prettier, funnier, and more enamored with the prospects of her own show. Kudos to Steve McPherson for being such a cool guy for dealing with all this!

I’m sorry, but I’m completely obsessed with this scene from Grey’s Anatomy the other night. Chris Lowell is such a cutie and damnit if we can’t get this much skin on Veronica Mars, its about time someone else used him for sex. Way to go Shonda!

It’s hysterical to watch these middle aged women watch the almost pre-pubescent Dell come through for his daily surf. Watching his chest heave up and down as he struts his hot stuff is one of the joys I’ve found in this crazy hectic week. Sweet Jesus!

My favorite is when the camera hits Addison for the first time, she’s trying not to look and almost can’t believe that this is going on and that these two women make it an appointment to watch him on a daily basis. Rewatch it and see Addy’s reaction. Genius.

Now lets obsess a little more with some pics! Click on them to supersize Dell’s board.

And I threw my self in, oggling the boy for good measure and for fun.

And I found this one on the internet… And the white stuff on your chin would be what?

*If you can’t get enough of Chris Lowell Shirtless, then how about Chris Lowell Bottomless? Oh yes kids, he moons us all!
