Wednesday’s are a busy night. Tonight I’ve got to somehow squeeze in the following:

Friday Night Lights (8pm NBC)
American Idol (Two Hour NYC Audition) with SYTYCD Cross Over (8pm FOX)
Knights of Prosperity (9pm ABC)
Top Chef (10pm BRAVO)
and I almost forgot… Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency where tonight they ask JP from Survivor if he’s gay.  Love it.  (10pm OXYGEN)

And ACE OF CAKES is on at 9pm on Food Network but I’ll catch that later in the week (and possibly Janice later in the week) as tonight I’ll be at GMMR’s house for another podcast.

It’s episode two and there’s no sophmore slump!  If we learned anything with the first real episode of the series its that this show will be about 1 liners.  It was an orgasm of dialogue that was slaying me last night.  Rockefeller is hands down one of the funniest characters on a tv show in a while. 

I present to you the Rockefeller One Liners:

“Hello madam, tickle your ass with a feather?”

“What about a wallet size?”

“I once went over Niagara Falls in a barrel … it wasn’t that bad.”

“What the hell are we supposed to do with a gay virgin?”

“Ask Jeeves; Maybe he knows…”

and finally, the best line of the night (used in both Rockefeller and Louis instances)

“Sorry I wasted y’all bitches time.”

Other highlights included 24’s Reiko Aylesworth playing Simone.  She was good at comedy.  Watching everyone try to seduce her was hysterical but hands down the best of seduction was Louis post Grease/Bowser from Shanana makeover.  Josh Grisetti really solidified his role in the ensemble with his alter ego. 

The main highlight is as I mentioned, Rockefeller Butts.  He is a genius!  Whoever is writing for this cat, they deserve a raise.  His one liners and conversations are on par with Barney’s from How I Met Your Mother and as we all know… Barney is a god in the current sitcom climate.  Expect big things from Rockefeller and the Knights of Prosperity.

The Knights of Prosperity Premiere

I don’t know about you but Donal Logue’s sold me! I’d join their rag tag crew. Hell, I’d even intern for them like Louis! If you didn’t catch last nights premiere of this new comedy you must catch it online. It’s friggin’ hysterical.

The Premise:
A fed up Queens janitor (Eugene) decides to change his life after an elderly coworker kicks it while cleaning a bathroom sink. After witnessing the embarassing riches that Mick Jagger possesses he gets an epiphany! Let’s Rob Mick Jagger (the original title) and sets out to find a crew that will help him. He recruits his coworker (Squacieri), a cab driver (Gourishankar “Gary”), some big black man (Rockefeller), and a hot Columbian waitress (Esperanza). Oh yeah, and they have a college intern named Louis that thinks they are making a film, the sequel to TAXI starring Queen Latifah and Jimmy Fallon called TAXI 2: Step On It! Genius.

The Execution:
The whole first episode is spent trying to gather the team and then trying to stake out Mick’s Central Park West home. There are the typical bumbling moments but they work so well in this single camera no laugh track fiasco. From trying to synchronize watches (a gag that worked twice – brilliantly) to finding out his apartment number to breaking past security to steal the master key to copying the key (rather all 100 apartment keys) to setting their sights on the task at hand they made me laugh and I want them to succeed!

My Favorite Moments:

• First, Donal Logue is once again incredibly funny and sympathetic at the same time. He’s a great actor and this is the perfect vehicle for him.
• The Murphy Bed with the poster of Farrah Fawcett
• Mick Jagger has a House Boy who so obviously hates him that the looks he gave Mick were spit take worthy.
• Rockefeller: “Will there be snacks?”
• Gary: “Why not pick another celebrity like… James Van Der Beek, or Jeff Conoway?”
  Squach: “Who?”
  Rockefeller: “Kenicki”
  *HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Rockefellers delivery killed me.
• Louis the Intern is a great addition. His listening to BITCH over and over was quite good.
• Squach’s not so stealthy picture taking in the lobby. Slamming his disposable camera hidden in a hat was the sight gag of the night.
• Esperanza’s way too dark past.
• Eugene’s two inspiring speeches (like I said, it make me want to rob Mick Jagger).
• And finally the reveal of Mick’s in apartment Security Systems. Hysterical!

I cannot wait to see where this series goes. I’m along for the ride. It looks like more and more celebrities will be doing cameos so folks, the possibilities are endless. Here’s to an incredibly good pilot episode that sat around way too long. Let’s hope people found it!

ABC is pushing this show hard and why not? It’s got a great premise and hello, it stars Donal Logue whom I love.

It had some good buzz back in the summer as we were gearing up for the fall. It got pushed to mid-season but if you’re asking me it seems like it really could be a new hit for ABC. I mean, come on. Who wouldn’t like to steal from Mick Jagger?
