Ducky’s Ever Changing Comic-Con Schedule

For those of you not going to COMIC-CON this year, consider yourselves lucky because if you knew the anxiety and rage the scheduling has caused me and my fellow TV Bloggers, you’d be fine just staying home. There are so many TV panels this year and so many things I want to do that either overlap each other or run too close to ever hope of getting in, so trying to decide what to see is like Sophie’s Choice up in this place.

Here are the panels I’m interested in attending and as you’ll see, it’s nearly impossible to attend half of the things I’m excited about.

Do you see how agonizing it is to try and plan your days? Saturday is seriously OOC and I’m sure many decision will change in the spur of the moment. What you don’t see on here are the parties we’re RSVP’d for and the Press Rooms we’re hoping to do as well. Add press rooms for most shows on Saturday and you’d have to have 3 Buffy Bots to help you cover it all.

Regardless, I’ll be there with many blogger friends and we’ll be podcasting every day and recording as many panels as possible to post here on Ducky Does TV so stay tuned!

We threatened to never do another TV Talk Podcast if you didn’t flock to iTunes and leave us comments… well I’m happy to report that you love us as much as we love you! Thanks to your generosity, we are back and this week’s podcast is a lot of fun!

We revise our thoughts on Swingtown now that we’re both completely caught up (and loving it), we talk about my chat with Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica) and her stint on Burn Notice plus some scoop on her new Fox pilot Inseparable.

Next we tackle one of the most talked about Fall pilots, J.J. Abrams FRINGE! Kath and I will review the plot, the mystery and the hotness that is Josh Jackson but don’t worry we don’t spoil anything for you! We’re good like that!

Then it’s time for some listener emails because you guys are cramazing!

Who wants to talk Comic-Con? No? Tough because we run down the shows that will be in San Diego and vent our frustrations over the scheduling. If you’re going to be in town for Comic-Con and you’re a reader or listener, let us know… we’d love to see you!

Before wrapping up this week we have a little fun with our TV version of F, Marry, Kill! That’s right, we each pick one we’d boink, one we’d marry and one we’d go Dexter Morgan on. join in the fun and leave us some comments about who you’d F, Marry and Kill based on our choices. We’ll read some of them on the air in our next podcast.

Wow, I just now realized that I haven’t blogged about anything since last Friday morning when we talked LOST.

The reason I haven’t blogged since last Friday is because Jon and I moved this past weekend and I didn’t have cable or the internet until last night! I thought I was going to die without the world wide web and the talking box but I was actually too busy to even worry about it.

So much has happened whilst I was away…

  • I covered the kick off of Cyndi Lauper’s TRUE COLORS TOUR for AfterElton. Check out my write up and a ton of pictures with Cyndi, Rosie O’Donnell, Queer Eye’s Carson Kressley, The Cliks, The B-52’s, Regina Spektor and more. She (Cyndi) was amazing, The B-52’s were unbelievable and The Cliks are my new faves. I’m going again this Friday because Tegan & Sara didn’t play the opening night and I have to see those baby dykes.
  • In Plain Sight premiered and the first thing I did once my internet kicked in last night was watch the premiere. While it’s a little formulaic and procedural, I have to say that Mary McCormack is killing it! She’s fraktastic as US Marshall Mary Shannon. While I’d read that she was a little too tough and sassy, I found her to not be stereotypical in any way shape or form and really found her portrayal of such a stubborn and lonely woman refreshing. It’s a credit to McCormack because in a lessor actors hands it could have been incredibly cheesy. And seeing Fred Weller in something again was quite fun (ie, the man’s hot business and I heart him). It’s gone to the top of my must watch summer series list.
  • I tried to watch THE MOLE online and I have to say… I don’t get it… at all! I have no idea why these people care who’s the Mole, I hate that if someone couldn’t get the bag of money while plummeting to their death off a waterfall they’re automatically suspect. I don’t get it and I don’t think I care to. If someone can explain this crap to me, fine but until then the show is off my radar.
  • News-wise there’s been a ton of development…

  • Tony Hale (aka Buster Bluth) is joining CHUCK and SAMANTHA WHO as recurring characters on both!
  • The TCA Nominations were announced.
  • Kim Cattrall has landed herself a new gig as a newly sexually awakened woman in the new HBO show SECOND SKIN. Geez, I wonder why they cast her?
  • Plus, there’s been tons of other casting/pilot news I’m sure you’ve already read about. It’s been a busy week for TV news so I hope everyone is up to speed. Glad to be back y’all.

This morning Good Morning America aired the two alternate endings that were shot on LOST to keep cast and crew in suspense with the rest of us. Here is who else could have turned out to be Jeremy Bentham.

LOST Season 4 finale - Desmond and Penny

I wish I could tell you all that GMMR and I had a special 2 Idiots Talk Lost podcast available this morning but with my moving and her seeing Sex & The City tonight, you’re going to have to wait a couple days.

Instead you get me, just 1 Idiot Talking Lost - and talking about it in the most random, high level, non-sensical way I’m sure. I don’t even know where to begin…

Overall I have to say that I loved the episode. I also have to admit that I’m not the most critical about LOST. I’m a viewer that likes to sit back and let the show take me wherever it wants to take me. That means I accept that the island can be moved, I accept that most of the time a dead person is never really dead, and that there’s always more than meets the eye (and/or ear) when it comes to all things LOST. While I might be confused about things right now, or think that things are ridonk, I have faith in the show and the incredible writing staff that in due time it will all work itself out and I’m along for the ride no matter what. I’m blindly faithful to this show and that’s how I like it.

    My Thoughts:

  • I love that the finale began where the finale ended last year and that we got even more of that amazing scene by the airport. So much was revealed. There was a damn good slap, talk about Aaron, mention of Jeremy Bentham and how he’s contacting all the survivors - WTF!, and then there was the set up for Sawyer’s exit from the helicopter in Kate saying how traumatic the day they left was. Both Matthew Fox and Evangeline Lilly killed that scene once again.
  • How about that incredible fight scene on the island between evil Keamy, The Others, Ben, Kate and Sayid? It was like the dino scene in King Kong with all the chaos - took my breath away with the frantic non-stop action. And once again for the record Richard Alpert is one creepy ass hot ageless dude. Oh and what about Ben just being so nonchalant about Kate and Sayid taking the chopper to leave the island? I love that Benry Gale Ben Linus when he’s on a mission.
  • Rose, girl you crack me up with your sharp tongue. Watching her lay the smackdown on Miles was high-larious! I love that Rose - but where the hell was Bernard?
  • Miles and Charlotte. He’s one creepy dude but he’s growing on me. I love that he read Charlotte and knew that she had ulterior motives for wanting to come on this expedition. I did hear her say that she’s been trying to find the place she was born correct? So does that mean Charlotte is from the island? A child BORN on the island? Crazy talk. Did she leave the island after she was born and that’s why all other women die before giving birth? Did that bitch ruin it for everyone? Could she be another spawn of Widmore? Aack!
  • Locke’s ascension to power. It’s been a long time coming and it was wonderful to see good things happening for John Locke no matter how wacky and new agey they may be. I’ve always loved Locke’s dedication to the island and after seeing Richard visit him (as a child) a couple weeks back, it really was destiny that Locke found the island. But how did he leave the island and become Jeremy Bentham? I’m assuming he has to be Jeremy Betham because technically John Locke is supposed to be dead but can he leave the island like Richard and Tom or did he have to move the island again in order to leave? It’s too much!

I’m so excited for the season finale of LOST tonight that I might piddle. Seriously, I cannot even imagine what they have in store for us and what direction they’re going to throw the show for Season 5; the anticipation is almost too much.

Will we find out if a bunch of the castaways died? Will we find out if Claire is really pushing daisies with her Father or if she’s been part of the plan all along? Will we find out if Penny is still searching for Desmond? Will we find out if others left the island with Ben but without being part of the Oceanic 6 (Juliet I’m looking at you)? Will someone finally kill that rat bastard Keamy? I don’t care for his ways or that rat face of his.

Also tonight is yet another night of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE auditions! Sure, yesterday I posted pics from DC thinking that they were going to be shown last night - look at them now and pretend they’re new to you because tonight the show really does go to DC.

In case you’re wondering… No, there are no prospects yet for the newest SYTYCD TV Boyfriend. It’s hard to concentrate on the boys when I know My BF Travis Wall is going to show up at some point. It almost feels like cheating.

Now for the sad news… Jon and I are moving into our new place tomorrow and sadly I’m going to be without cable and the internet until Tuesday night. Wha-wha-what?! I’m sick over it, honestly. I’ve tried everything I could to reason with Comcast but they’re not really budging. I got them to move up the appointment by 24 hours and I’ve made it onto their weekend “cancellation” list - fingers crossed someone cancels!

My luck its going to be Saturday while I’m at the starting date of the TRUE COLORS TOUR. No one gets between me and my Cyndi Lauper!

That means I’m going to miss BATTLESTAR tomorrow night as well as DOCTOR WHO. I can’t even TIVO them because I’ll have no service. I’m going to cry myself a river of tears now so pardon me.

Have a great weekend if I don’t blog again until next week!

We said we’d be back with another TV Talk Podcast in a week but it took almost a week and a half, I think you survived just fine. GMMR was at the Upfront presentations so there’s plenty to talk about including her celebrity sightings, stalkings, and dancing partners. We’ll even talk about Joss Whedon’s DOLLHOUSE and J.J. Abrams FRINGE starring GMMR’s mega crush Josh Jackson. So You Think You Can Dance might get a couple minutes or five along with her time with The Office and Tina Fey!

Back to your regularly scheduled podcast, we head right into GOSSIP GIRL, AMERICAN IDOL, THE OFFICE, GREY’S, BATTLESTAR GALACTICA and more. Plus, it’s the return of TWO IDIOTS TALK LOST (*we talk about the finale being this week but listener Michael pointed out that it’s not until May 29th - phew!) where we rehash the first hour of the three hour Season 4 finale, once again proving that even idiots can enjoy Lost. And as a bonus feature, we have a special guest to help us talk about the Season 3 finale of The CW’s SUPERNATURAL.

Sit back and relax because this Podcast almost hits 90 minutes. You read that right, 90 minutes of babbling, giggling, bitching, and TV Talk!

Sorry to do a whole Kristin Dos Santos scooped post but damn if she wasn’t working her ass off this past week with LOST action.

Here is an incredible interview with Darlton about last week’s episode, the future of the show, whether we’ll start to get more answers as the series winds to its conclusion (two 17 episode seasons left folks) and if Season 5 will be The Empire Strikes Back or The Two Towers. Click here to read.

And here are two clips she posted for tonight’s first hour of the 3 hour 2 week Season 4 finale.

God, that first clip is amazing! I cannot wait until I get home tonight!

And, this post is most topical because of the new all glass Apple Store opening tonight here in Boston. Thinking of you and that glass staircase KDS! *wink wink*

Tonight I probably won’t be watching the season finales of THE OFFICE or SUPERNATURAL live because I’ll be at the Apple Store co-chillin’ but that doesn’t mean I’m going to miss them or wait until this weekend to watch.

If you have yet to check out the clips from tonight’s Supernatural finale and some of the sneak peek photos I posted, check them out. I’m dying to know if my #1 hottie survives (well, in what way he survives I should say).

Over on the The Office, it’s time to say goodbye to Toby. I’m not complaining…

I promise I will watch both shows tonight and I will give LOST a perusal as well. Couldn’t Steve Jobs pick a better night for their newest flagship launch, damn?

Oh and then there’s LOST! Michelle Forbes (always frakkin’ amazing) guests tonight and it appears that we’ll glimpse the Oceanic 6’s rescue. I’m going to probably be crying my eyes out if anyone wants to watch, head on over to my house tonight.

Quickly I wanted to touch on a couple things about last night’s television as well.

This morning I’m ripshit because I missed the most talked about moment on American Idol. I don’t quite know how I missed it considering I watched almost the entire show… I’m talking of course about the freakshow that was Fantasia’s performance! Girl’s a straight up manic panic mess with that hair, and her outfit? Child, looked like two pigs wrestling in a lycra catsuit. Hideous! Watch Simon’s face toward the end of this so called performance. Genius.

And lastly, a moment of silence after the joy of seeing slammin’ sexy Sam (Season 2) return on Top Chef last night. Can they give that boy his own show or something? I would watch him weekly, if for no other reason than he would give my right arm a work out. Loves that boy (and yes, I went there).

    Sam Talbot Top Chef

    Alright, back to work…
