I’m super psyched for a good chunk of nominations. Pushing Daisies, Lee Pace, and Anna Friel have to be my biggest joy this morning! You know I love me some PD and this really gives me hope that the show can be bigger and better post-strike. Kick ass for summer shows like Damages and Mad Men! They kept television in a higher class all summer long so they are much deserved of this honor. Kudos to John Hamm and Rose Byrne for being the summer newbies! Also huge props to 30 Rock, Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin because there is pretty much not a funnier duo on television at the moment.

Sadly Friday Night Lights is shut out, as is Battlestar. It’s hard to believe that The Office got shat upon as well. I thought for sure there was a nomination in there for Jenna Fischer. She killed it at the end of last season and the beginning of this short season. Lost’s Matthew Fox and Elizabeth Mitchell were robbed. What about Barney? Oh god, Neil Patrick Harris didn’t get a nom, kinda sucks.

The 65th Annual Golden Globes will be awarded on January 13th (NBC).

We’re about to enter Week 5 of the WGA Strike so GMMR and I give you the rundown on how many original episodes are left for most shows. We then discuss this season’s plot points thus far as well as whether or not each show is living up to our expectations.

Sit back and relax, it’s our TV Podcast #17 and here are the shows we’ll cover in depth.

Chuck, Prison Break, Heroes, House, Bones, Pushing Daisies, Gossip Girl, Dirty Sexy Money, Private Practice, The Office, Grey’s Anatomy, Ugly Betty, Supernatural, Friday Night Lights, The Amazing Race, Brothers & Sisters, Project Runway and more.

    WGA Strike Signs

    WGA Strike Day 8
    Updates and Links

    Updated: 10:15 p.m.

Wow, it’s officially been a week for the striking WGA members and so much has developed. Please look back through my earlier posts on the WGA Strike for information. We are entering Day 8 and there’s plenty to report.

  • The always informative strike guru Nikki Finke has the scoop on TV Bloggers Going Dark in support of the strike. Wait, I’m one of them. Come back after midnight to see what I mean. Oh look… Drudge Report as well. Defamer too. Huh.
  • A Writer’s Assistant Speaks Up.
  • Are CBS News Writers about to walk as well?
  • Could the strike make cablers like Mad Men and Damages a shoo-in come Emmy time?
  • SCRUBS Bill Lawrence refused to create a last minute Series Finale.
  • Jason Bateman is a master of the loophole.
  • Are Agents one step closer to bringing the WGA and AMPTP together for negotiations.
  • Digby wrote about the lack of media coverage of the strike. I’m assuming that’s not Digby from Pushing Daisies
  • LOST genius Damon Lindelof wrote a piece about the Death of Television for the New York Times.
  • Tomorrow is “Bring A Kid” and “Bring A Star” Day on the lines.
  • Alec Baldwin wrote a piece on what the strike is costing us.
  • It’s Monday, will The Tonight Show go on with Guest Hosts?
  • MAD MEN’s Don Draper - Renewed For Second Season

Well G-Willickers this is swell news. AMC’s uber stylie and gosh-darn amazing MAD MEN has been renewed for a second season! Not only does this mean more corsets, bobby pins, knickers, and pomade than you can shake a stick at, it means we’ll be going even deeper into Don Draper’s mysterious backstory. That’s aces if you’re asking me!

According to E!’s Watch With Kristin:

Just heard from reliable sources that AMC’s Mad Men will be coming back for a second season. Hurrah!

I can tell you that as of Sunday night, not even the cast knew of the show’s fate (I ran into a couple of castmembers at the HBO soiree), but they said they’ve loved being a part of the series and were crossing their fingers it would return. Ditto for us fans!

It’s Friday and I’m getting ready to head to NYC for the New York Television Festival. GMMR and I are hitting the Red Carpet tomorrow night to cover the star studded New York Premiere of PUSHING DAISIES. Tonight we’re doing up CHUCK and there might be a few other surprises along the way.

While I’m gone, I wanted to send you guys to some fun links.

Edie Falco to guest on 30 Rock! Bada Bing that’s fun news. (Televisionary)

Want a first look at NBC’s Journeyman? Daemon’s TV did and you can read all about the new show.

Are you as obsessed with DAMAGES as I am? I hope so, TheTVAddict hopes so as well. Check out Daniel’s lovefest. *Check out my Damages Interviews (look for my interview with Peter Facinelli next week)

Who doesn’t love Sarah Silverman? She’s hysterical and looking pretty hot in those Gap ads. Rae has info on the October premiere of Silverman’s second season.

GMMR has How I Met Your Mother’s Jason Segel with Kristen Bell in their new film Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

Corey Haim, so adorable back in the day, has been all over the place with talk of a LOST BOYS sequel. Rumor had it that he wasn’t asked back but Feldman was, then vice-versa. Seriously OMG has the skinny on the vampfest.

Korbie’s having a Quickie with MAD MEN, read all about it!

**Now’s a good time to start planning for the Fall TV Season, Read all of my FALL TV PREVIEWS and FALL PREMIERE DATES.

Enjoy your weekend, and I’ll see you on the other side folks! Hopefully with pictures of me and Lee Pace embracing.

Well it’s the last weekend of the summer and I’m off to the Great White North for a mini-getaway. Nothing says celebrate a United States holiday like spending said holiday in Canada. I’ll be in Montreal for the weekend, visiting those waydowntown and those speaking french. I so don’t speak french.

While I’m away, don’t forget to watch every episode of AMC’s seriously amazing MAD MEN on Sunday. Monday is an all day marathon of KYLE XY Season 2 over on ABC Family. I promise, on Monday – the Season Finale (of Part 1, Season 2) – I’ll get the rest of our interview with Kyle XY’s cutie Matt Dallas up. Read Part 1 now!

And if you’re not interested in watching television (what are you crazy), head on over to some of these blogs for some end of summer reading.

HEROES World Tour hit Toronto and TheTVAddict was there and covering the event with full force.
