Ducky’s back from vacation which means it’s time for another TV Talk Podcast! We have almost 3 weeks to cover so make yourself some tea, get a snack and settle in for the soothing cackles and rants we’re about to sling your way.

We start as we always do, Monday nights. BIG BANG THEORY and HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER continues to be the best damn double bill on television. CHUCK goes to the suburbs, tests his best friendship with Morgan and breaks up with Sarah, say what? HEROES hits rock bottom and Matt Dallas shows his rock hard… abs!

THE BIGGEST LOSER 7 pisses Ducky off and shockingly Kath watched! PRIVILEGED aired what may have been it’s series finale and is to be continued but when considering The CW renewed a bunch of shows already. AMERICAN IDOL continues to rock on while randomly REAPER returns.

TOP CHEF has a shocking finale while Kath gets a shocker as she realizes she missed DAMAGES last week mid-recap.

SURVIVOR’s getting ugly, Sweeps are in March, 30 ROCK gets political, AMERICA’S BEST DANCE CREW kills it and I might kill Kath for something she says about BURN NOTICE.

Over on Friday’s there’s FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS, DOLLHOUSE and BATTLESTAR GALACTICA to discuss before breezing through Sunday’s THE AMAZING RACE because really you just want to listen to…

TWO IDIOTS TALK LOST!

Ducky’s Ever Changing Comic-Con Schedule

For those of you not going to COMIC-CON this year, consider yourselves lucky because if you knew the anxiety and rage the scheduling has caused me and my fellow TV Bloggers, you’d be fine just staying home. There are so many TV panels this year and so many things I want to do that either overlap each other or run too close to ever hope of getting in, so trying to decide what to see is like Sophie’s Choice up in this place.

Here are the panels I’m interested in attending and as you’ll see, it’s nearly impossible to attend half of the things I’m excited about.

*Item’s in BOLD are panels I’m currently planning on seeing but I promise you, it will change before leaving next week.

1:00-1:30pm Friday the 13th
4:00-5:00pm Buffy the Musical

Do you see how agonizing it is to try and plan your days? Saturday is seriously OOC and I’m sure many decision will change in the spur of the moment. What you don’t see on here are the parties we’re RSVP’d for and the Press Rooms we’re hoping to do as well. Add press rooms for most shows on Saturday and you’d have to have 3 Buffy Bots to help you cover it all.

Regardless, I’ll be there with many blogger friends and we’ll be podcasting every day and recording as many panels as possible to post here on Ducky Does TV so stay tuned!

While the strike may be over, we are still weeks away from most of our favorite shows returning to the air in limited new episodes. In the meantime we are saddled with a ton of reality shows like American Idol, Big Brother 9, Survivor, and Project Runway. Don’t worry though, we still have plenty of time to talk about Lost and newbies like Eli Stone and Unhitched. Plus, Kath gives you an update on where she is in the process of watching all 7 seasons of Buffy before the end of March. Good times.

I’m so excited to have ABC Family’s hit series KYLE XY back tonight. I’m not going to lie, I’ll be recording it and watching sometime later in the week because I’m pretty packed this week but regardless, I’m so ready to see how the Tragers take knowing the truth about Kyle and what will go down with crazy ass Jessi.

    Here’s a preview for tonight’s Season 2’s Part 2 Winter Premiere

Are Guilty Pleasures really that guilty? Sure every TV lover/blogger out there has a red headed bastard stepchild of a show on their DVR that they don’t talk about but is probably one of their favorite shows to watch week after week. I for the most part, freely wave my guilty pleasure flag high and proud so some of my picks for 2007 should come as no surprise.

While ideally some of these shows could easily be in my Favorite TV Shows of 2007, I would feel guilty giving some other shows their due, so these shows got pushed to the Guilty Pleasures list.

Ducky’s Favorite Guilty Pleasures of 2007

    GOSSIP GIRL 1.04 - S and B Walking
Gossip Girl This is one that could almost make my Top 10 of 2007 but when I sit right down and think of it, I love the show for its cheesy elements and not because its moving, breath taking television. Blair is one of my favorite television characters of the last 5 years and she makes the show worth watching each and every week. I heart Gossip Girl (no one question that) and it’s glam-bam-thank-you-ma’am approach to teen melodrama. Long live these Upper East Siders.

THE HILLS: Whitney and Some Band Douches
The Hills I could kiss Lauren Conrad, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt for making my Monday night’s a delicious overdose of hell in a Prada handbag. The minute the theme song kicks in every week I’m delighted to be watching television. Whitney’s wise friendship, Lo’s catchphrases, Elodie screwing Heidi over, and Justin Bobby. The bitching, the fighting, the partying, and the drama (so much drama) makes The Hills a huge improvement over it’s predecessor Laguna Beach. As a bonus, this show has the best After Show in the history of television.

Kyle XY Season 2 - Kyle and Jessi
Kyle XY I know, I know… this is another legit show. But really, it’s an ABC Family show so it’s yet to officially become legit. It has some cheesy production values, and is at times so saccharine it could choke a horse but that doesn’t mean I don’t love my bellybutton-less friend and those darn Tragers. The show has really tried to become more adult this season and the ongoing storylines about the origins of Kyle and Jessi are pretty good. They’ve even managed to incorporate some gayness to the show (and no I’m not talking about Matt Dallas) with the introduction of Andi and her yet unseen lesbian Moms. Can’t wait for it’s return in 2008.

Charm School Cast 2007 - Small
Flavor of Love Girls’ Charm School I grew to love these wretched skankbags that Mo’nique tried her damndest to class up. I never watched Flavor of Love so each of these characters were semi-new to me. Sure I’d seen some of the debauchery on The Soup but I got to know and appreciate each of these worthless human beings through Charm School. The scheming, the backstabbing, and a little growth actually put this show on a higher level than it’s brother and sister shows. Here’s to hoping for more Charm School in 2008.

America’s Most Smartest Model - Ben and Mary Alice
America’s Most Smartest Model This is the reality show that should have failed miserably yet succeeded in surpassing every expectation I had for it. It took the best and worst of reality shows and made modelling and academia sexy again. Andre was hands down one of the best reality personalities of 2007 and to be frank, Mary Alice is the sexiest bitch on television.

Kyle XY Season 2 Returns January 2008

It’s official, KYLE XY will return for the second half of Season 2 (10 episodes remain) on January 14th. ABC Family has already renewed Kyle for a third season which should begin summer 2008 so don’t worry this is not the last we’ll see of Kyle, Matt Dallas’ naked body, Jessi, or the Tragers.

    Yeah!

Now that KYLE XY’s Season 2 is halfway done and the finale has aired, I’ve finally had the chance to post the rest of the MATT DALLAS Interview. If you missed Part 1 of the Matt Dallas Interview don’t forget to read up on that before sinking your teeth into the final segment.

Matt Dallas Photos, Kyle XY Season 2 Interview

    Let Part 2 begin…

Question: What are your favorite character relationships on the show?

Matt Dallas: It’s hard because I love working with everyone on the show. Everytime I get to work with a member of the family or with Tom Foss it’s so great. I’d have to say that one of my favorite relationships to play with is the relationship with Nicole because they have such a different relationship than anyone else shares in the family. She tries to play this really maternal role to him and he wants to be normal and to be a kid but at the same time they know it just can’t be that way. She tries to be his guardian and to teach him things but at the same time, he’s teaching her so they’re on the same level and its such a fun relationship to explore.

At the same time I love to work with Tom Foss because they have such a cool relationship – he’s really mentoring Kyle and they have this strong, deep relationship that Tom Foss will never let Kyle see.

My favorite relationship to watch on the show, and it has nothing to do with me, is Josh and Andy. The two of them are so great together and I love watching their relationship on the show.

Question: What is your favorite Sour Patch Kid flavor?

Matt Dallas: Green, and I don’t even know what flavor that is. I just like the green ones.

TEEN CHOICE AWARDS – LIVE on FOX (8pm)

Raise your hands if you think High School Musical 2 will kick some booty tonight? My girl Kelly Clarkson is going to be performing! Work it girl. Also performing tonight, Fergie doing that damn song I love “Big Girls Don’t Cry” – no they don’t! Oh and hideous Avril Lavigne will perform too.

Celebrities scheduled to appear at TEEN CHOICE 2007 include Jessica Alba, America Ferrera, Megan Fox , Emmy Rossum, Lauren Conrad, Jordin Sparks, Miley Cyrus, Anna Paquin, Vanessa Hudgens, Eve, Dane Cook , Jared Padalecki, Taylor Kitsch, Steve Carell, Shia LaBeouf, Ryan Seacrest, David Spade, Michael Cera, Jonah Hill & Christopher Minze-Plasse, Ryan Reynolds, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and musicians Bow Wow, Ludacris, Chingy, Ashlee Simpson, The Jonas Brothers, Omarion and Sum 41.

I normally wouldn’t even mention that the TEEN CHOICE AWARDS are on tonight, but as I was looking at the list of nominees, I couldn’t help wonder how old the teens are. I mean, did they poll adult actors who play teens on television shows? Look at the nominees and tell me if you find any of it strange?

KYLE XY is speeding toward it’s Mid-Season Finale on September 3rd and to get everyone geared up to see what happens, MATT DALLAS sat down with a handful of us bloggers to answer some burning questions.

Matt Dallas, Kyle XY Photo Season 2 Interview

I must first say that Matt came across nothing like his character Kyle. His tone and inflection is much more upbeat and animated than Kyle’s (he of few words) and he was incredibly entertaining to chat with. Gotta say that the TV Crush spiked a little more than it already was.

The interview that follows contains mild spoilers for the last few episodes in the first half of Season 2. You’ve been warned spoilerphobes…

Question: What can we expect as the first half of the season comes to an end?

Matt Dallas: This year they’ve really explored his abilities and what he’s capable of. They’ve raised the bar as far as the stories and mysteries; the relationships are deeper.

Question: Which of Kyle’s abilities would you most like and why?

MD: His holographic memory because it’s almost like traveling back in time and he can really visualize what happened.

Question: What differences are there between Season 1 vs. Season 2 as the show has gone success-wise as well as with your character?

MD: The show has definitely matured as well as the character. They’ve really taken everything and deepened it while at the same time managing to keep what made the show so appealing in the first season and that’s a lot of what makes Kyle so naive and young and keeping his unique view – the way he perceives the world.

Tomorrow I’ll be on an interview with ABC Family’s hottest star, MATT DALLAS from KYLE XY

Matt Dallas on Kyle XY, Season 2 Promo Photo

I’ve just now started Season 2 of Kyle XY and it’s kind of ridiculous how into the show I am – because I’m only on the first episode of Season 2, I would love it if you guys would throw me some questions to ask Matt in preparation for the Season 2 Part 1 finale in the beginning of September.

Please leave them in the comments section and I’ll do my best to get them answered.

Comic-ConI leave in a mere 5 hours for sunny San Diego where I’ll probably see no sun or feel no summer loving as I’ll be spending all of my time inside the San Diego Convention Center with 200,000 of my closest geek friends.

COMIC-CON 2007 begins tomorrow and I’m there all weekend with GMMR and some other TV Bloggers for the biggest group of television panels a fan could dream of.

Want LOST scoop? Heroes Spoilers? Supernatural Hotties? Battlestar’s Final Season Spoiler? The dish on new shows like Pushing Daisies, Chuck, Bionic Woman, Reaper, Moonlight, Journeyman, and many more? Want a podcast chock full of these goodies? Well, keep checking back all weekend as I’ll try and post some updates each night.

Want to follow me all day, Thursday through Sunday while I try and get Lee Pace naked? Follow me on TWITTER! There’s also a Twitter panel on the right hand sidebar. Check back for updates throughout the day, all day, all weekend!

While I’m gone, please head on over to my new site… DUCKY DOES TV! I’m in the midst of moving all posts there so that will be Ducky’s new home very very very soon! Let me know what you think. I love the new layout and I’m still working on all the content so bear with me.

May the force be with you or something dorky like that!

**Oh and anyone wondering what TV shows won out for the trip. I’m finishing Season 1 of Kyle XY and I downloaded the first 7 episodes of Psych.

Comic-ConAs you’ve maybe heard me mention in one or two posts, I’m taking my first trip to San Diego’s COMIC-CON INTERNATIONAL in two weeks.

Comic-Con has moved beyond the manga lovin’, furry wearing, swoard bearing, trekkies you’re thinking about right now. It’s more than a comic book convention. It’s a sci-fi convention as well. That doesn’t make it sound any less geek central does it? It’s turning into a Sci-Fi/Horror/Fantasy Film and TV Convention as well. Sound better? I thought so.

As you know, I’m one of the people that runs The Independent Film Festival of Boston (shout out Nancy, Brian, and Christine who regularly read the blog and are my cohorts) and obviously you know I’m a big TV geek. The chance to see panel discussions, meet creators of film and tv shows I love, see sneak previews of films and tv shows I love is just too big. I must go!

GMMR and I are shacking up in San Diego for the week and we’ll be meeting up with Rae, The TV Addict, Seat42f and many other tv bloggers (as well as 250,000 of our closest and scariest friends) to cover all things fall tv! We’re also hoping to do a huge TV Bloggers Podcast or two!

What shows are gonna be there? The list is big and here are the ones I plan on attending in some capacity.

TORCHWOOD (BBC America’s spin-off of Doctor Who)
    LOST
    REAPER
    MOONLIGHT
    24
    CHUCK
    PUSHING DAISIES
    BIONIC WOMAN
TVGuide’s Hot List and Super Women
    HEROES
    KYLE XY
    BATTLESTAR GALACTICA
    SUPERNATURAL
    SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES
    SARAH SILVERMAN PROJECT
    BUFFY’s 10th Anniversary
    TIN MAN
    The 4400
    JERICHO

Granted some of these panels overlap so there will be a few that get missed but TV wise, this is my dream list. There are also a number of film events that I want to attend.

Paramount Studios Presentation, Lionsgate Presentation, FANBOYS (with Kristin Bell), Warner Bros Films, 20th Century Fox, Shoot Em Up, Rob Zombie’s HALLOWEEN!!!!!, Rogue/Focus films, The Incredible Hulk with Ed Norton and many more.

    Kinda crazy, huh?

Are any of you guys going? What do you want me to find out or meet or see while I’m there? Let me know.

    Kyle XY Contest
Just wanted to post a quick congratulations to the Ducky XY/Kyle XY Contest Winners!

Season 1 DVD Pack: Abby B from NC
Kyle XY Soundtrack: Sheree from NJ(?)
Kyle XY Posters and Tattoos: Jill P. from VA *Jill please email me because I lost your email address (include in body).

Thanks again to everyone that posted and to everyone that told me their favorite moments from Season 1 of Kyle XY. As of right this moment I am only on Episode 5 but I promise to finish soon.

KYLE XY Premieres tonight at 8pm on ABC Family.

    Kyle XY

I’ve only made it through a couple episodes of Season 1 so far and this much I can tell you.

    • Matt Dallas is the cutest
    • Alex Krycek is creepy no matter what
    • Mother Trager is one trusting woman because if he wasn’t who/whatever he is that bitch and her whole family would be hogtied and in a ditch. Taking in an amnesiac belly buttonless mute who’s first words are “Juice Me”? This would not normally turn out well.
    • Hilary is the typical best friend high schooler and couldn’t be more prone to a life of faghaggery.
    • The hornball teens are not the best influences for Kyle; I’m just putting that out there…

For all you super Kyle XY fans out there I’m excited for you. I’m gonna Tivo it and watch once I’ve caught up. Looking forward to finishing Season 1.

Don’t forget to enter my KYLE XY Giveaway. Contest extended through tomorrow morning. Enter Kyle XY Contest here.

As you know, I’m just now getting into ABC Family’s Kyle XY and have to admit I have a little TV Crush on its star Matt Dallas.  In honor of the Kyle XY Contest I’m running and the premiere of Kyle XY Season 2 tomorrow night I wanted to bring you some photos of Matt Dallas to get you in the spirit of things.

And before people start freaking out, the boys 25 in real life.
