CHUCK Season 3 Poster

CHUCK SEASON 3 PREMIERES TONIGHT!

It seems like ages ago when GMMR and I visited the set (check out our set visit report/pics) and chatted with the cast of CHUCK (listen to our interviews).

It seems ages ago when that tall drink of water that can fill a pair of pants Brandon Routh shook my hand and introduced himself to me… *swoons*

It seems like eons ago since Chuck Bartowski learned he knew Kung-Fu and Capt. Awesome realized the lovable nerd is more than the king of Buy Moria…

Tonight the world finally gets to see what I’ve been sitting on for quite some time (“That’s What She Said” – shut it…), that CHUCK is back and kicking some major ass! Over the next two nights you’ll be treated to the first 3 hours of Chuck Season 3. That’s right, three episodes over two nights. It’s Chuckvana!

If you want an in depth discussion about the first 5 episodes of Chuck, you won’t get it in this post. Who wants to read when you can hear yours truly talk about the first 5 eps. in the latest TV Talk Podcast?! We spend a good 15 minutes talking about the tone and direction for Season 3 (which includes mild spoilers) so check it out.

But before you go, I’ve got some highlights and quotes from the first 3 episodes of CHUCK Season 3 that you may or may not want to know (so they’re going after the jump) (more…)

Fall Schmall… The Winter 2010 TV schedule is cuckoo-bananas! Ducky and GMMR sat down, screeners in hand, mapped out all the premiere dates and dished the dirt on all the new and returning shows.

What did we think of the first 5 episodes of CHUCK Season 3? What about the new season of 24 featuring Starbuck (Katee Sackhoff)? What about new shows like LIFE UNEXPECTED, THE DEEP END, CAPRICA, HAPPY TOWN and HUMAN TARGET?

Want to know when DAMAGES, LOST, SOUTHLAND, GLEE and NURSE JACKIE return? Want to know how long you have to wait for Lauren Graham to shine in PARENTHOOD? How many more weeks until the return of TV Talk’s recurring listener fave “2 Idiots Talk LOST”?

Fall TV is finally starting to kick into gear and tonight, NBC premieres one of my television staples, THE BIGGEST LOSER.

I was late to the LOSER game and only started watching with Season 4 but that doesn’t mean I’m not completely obsessed and a die-hard fan. I laugh, I cry and I get really pissed with the contestants each season and tonight’s premiere was no different.

We see the 16 contestants that will battle it out on the ranch and before introductions are even made, they are forced into a challenge that sends two of the contestants to the hospital. Introductions are made and this season we’ve got ex-athletes, kids with junkie parents, people battling weight their entire lives, people wanting to lose weight for kids, a firefighter, and a woman that lost her entire family in a car accident.

Teams are picked, a big training twist makes me incredibly happy and I may or may not have had tears streaming down my face thanks to one Ms. Jilliian Michaels.

This season is all about “second chances” but really it’s a life or death situation for many of these contestants. If you thought last season brought the biggest guy and girl ever, just wait until you see some of the initial weigh ins tonight. You’ll be shocked (as Bob & Jill were) to see that we’ve barely scratched the surface.

Of the 4 season premieres I’ve watched for this show, this might be my favorite. It goes above and beyond the traditional introductions and niceties and gets down to business before the first commercial break.

Without spoiling anything, I will give you my two favorite lines from the premiere and tell me which trainer said which quote.

Quote 1:

“You know why you can’t quit? Because you weight over 470 pounds so get on that fucking treadmill!”

Quote 2:

“Everytime you lay down I’m gonna think ‘Dead Father’ – GET UP!”

Here’s a preview of tonight’s THE BIGGEST LOSER 8 Premiere:

THE BIGGEST LOSER 8 Premieres at 8pm tonight on NBC

The new Fall TV season is less than a week away and while I’ve been busy trying to watch all the new pilots I have to say that I’m not super excited about the new crop of shows. Bummer huh?

Want to know when everything premieres? Check out our Fall TV 2009 Premiere Date list!

My podcasting partner in crime GMMR and I have been trying to schedule time to talk Fall TV and we hope to have all of the network podcasts up in the next week so hold tight. We’ve posted our thoughts on the new shows for The CW so please listen to that podcast to see what we love and/or hate.

In the meantime here are the shows I plan on watching this Fall. Shows in BLUE are what I plan on watching LIVE or DVR’d. Shows in PINK are ones that I will have to catch online or via iTunes.

MONDAY (click to enlarge)

Monday’s have traditionally been a pretty busy night of TV viewing for me. However, this year it’s looking pretty open.

I’m annoyed that the power hour that started my night of television last year has been split up because BIG BANG THEORY and HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER was a partnership made in heaven. I’ll be interested to see what happens to BBT at such a late hour (and I hope to remember its on that late) and if I feel like the vibe is the same without it’s partner.

Another year, another chance to officially drop HEROES. Last year I decided to watch then within 5 episodes I dropped that lame duck for the 2nd time in 3 seasons. Going into Season 4, I’ve vowed to not even give it a single frame of consideration. Will. Not. Watch!

After a brief vacation from the kids on the Upper East Side, a summer marathon has renewed my love for all things GOSSIP GIRL. That doesn’t mean I won’t get annoyed with the repetitive storylines and the lame quick-wrap secondary storylines – it just means I’m excited for the show to return and kick some ass! Let’s not fuck it up Savage & Schwartz.

If you’re interested in ACCIDENTALLY ON PURPOSE starring Jenna Elfman, Ashley Jensen and Grant Show you should watch. It’s a very traditional sitcom and paired with TWO AND A HALF MEN, I think it’s going to be a huge hit. I just don’t see myself watching it week to week. The pilot is cute, Elfman is adorable and the premise is fun. Mark my words, this is one of the biggest new shows in 09.

TUESDAY (click to enlarge)

Believe it or not, I’m only watching two shows on Tuesday’s but hell if that isn’t four frakkin’ hours of television.

I’m a total sucker for the weight loss and emotional meltdowns of THE BIGGEST LOSER so there’s no chance I’m not watching Bob and Jillian bust some fatties once again. Love that damn show.

Obviously you know I’m a huge SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE junkie so that’s a no brainer – or is it? I’ve been very vocal about how I don’t love the idea of bringing SYTYCD to the Fall. I love having it as my summer obsession because I have less shows to watch in the summertime which means more time for a Paso Doble or two. Pushing it on us in the middle of the onslaught of new and returning shows seems cruel and I hate that it’s going to take up two hours of my Fall TV schedule. There… I’ve said it.

I’m not gonna lie – from time to time I will probably watch The CW’s reboot of MELROSE PLACE. I actually enjoyed the pilot episode. It’s 100% better than I expected it to be and surely my partner Jon will want to pop in and out of that salacious complex.

*If you’re wondering about BETTER OFF TED, don’t worry its coming back after DwtS ends (which isn’t soon enough)!

**ABC’s reboot of V starts November 3rd at 8pm (shitty time slot for a show that is not suited for 8pm) and I’m super excited. I loved the original as a kid and I really enjoyed the pilot for the remake. Plus, it’s got Elizabeth Mitchell, Alan Tudyk and Scott Wolf!

WEDNESDAY (click to enlarge)

Wednesday night is really the only night I’m giving new shows a chance at making it into my live/dvr rotation.

SYTYCD has it’s results show at 8pm and that’s followed by GLEE (which we all know I flippin’ heart). It’s a great one-two punch and I’m really looking forward to Wednesday’s – thanks FOX!

Over on ABC, my favorite new comedy, MODERN FAMILY gets paired up with the pretty good COUGAR TOWN. Trust me when I tell you to tune in to MODERN FAMILY. The pilot has laugh out loud funny jokes throughout and one of the best, THE BEST, things I’ve ever seen in the final few minutes. COUGAR TOWN is fun, a little dirty and honestly who doesn’t love having Courtney Cox, Busy Phillips and Josh Hopkins back on their screens?

EASTWICK is not as bad as you think it might be. The hour grew on me as it progressed and I’m willing to give it a couple weeks which is more than I can say for many of the new shows this Fall.

More Fall 2009 shows after the jump… (more…)

For some reason I can’t keep any premiere dates in my ever shrinking noggin. If you’re like me, here’s a handy dandy little list that should help you start marking dates on a calendar. If you’re interested in what I’ll be watching this Fall, check out my Fall TV 2009 Schedule.

A list of shows by premiere date and then by show title is after the jump… (more…)

Greek Season 3 Cast Photo

If you’ve never watched GREEK, I feel like there might actually be something wrong with the chemical make up of your brain. It’s a smart, witty and hilarious show that needs your attention.

I’ve been one of the lucky ones that has been on the GREEK train since the beginning (almost) – I came in 7 episodes after it began and quickly fell in love with all those miscreants at Cyprus-Rhodes University.

If you’re thinking, “Oh I don’t like frats or sororities and I’m not really a fan of drinking” then welcome to my world! I went into the show very wary and expecting to hate almost everyone but hell if I didn’t have the opposite reaction!

There’s something for everyone on GREEK. There are the hot sorority girls, the hot sorority boys, the geeks, the nerds, the bitch, the jock, the class clown, the requisite rich girl, and even a handful of gays! That’s right… GAYS!

GREEK has done a great job at breaking stereotypes and representing diversity both as a show and as a college experience. While Rebecca Logan started off as just a spoiled rich bitch, she’s turned into of the most interesting and complex characters on the show. Calvin Owens was a star athlete every frat wanted who ended up being gay and it never really mattered. Casey Cartwright has gone from being the Elle Woods-lite sorority leader to an ambitious woman with sites on a big career. Then there’s Rusty and the Kappa Tau’s. They’re a rag-tag group of near flunkies that live to spite the richy rich frat boys of Omega Chi.

Tonight brings GREEK back for a new season and new school year. The premiere made me happy and pissed me off at the same time. Don’t get me wrong – I loved every second of it but some of these kids just drive me batty!

Rusty, Dale and Calvin are no longer the new kids on the block and big changes are in store. There’s requited love, new found romance, lying and even some cheating in store for the kids at CRU so you do not want to miss how it all plays out.

GREEK premieres tonight at 9pm on ABC Family!

On September 10th we will witness Lucifer rise up and square off with Sam and Dean Winchester (allegedly)… I for one cannot wait to have those boys back in my life and I’m sure you feel the same. So to wet your appetite for destruction, here are a few episode promo pics from “Sympathy for the Devil”, SUPERNATURAL’s Season 5 premiere!

Oh and the girl in the photo… guess who she’s an incarnation of? She’s not a pixie little bitch any longer kids… meet your new Meg (played by Rachel Miner – that’s right Macaulay Culkin’s ex-wife)!

Episode Summary: APOCALYPSE NOW — Picking up where the finale left off, Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Sam (Jared Padalecki) watch as the Devil (guest star Mark Pellegrino, “Lost”) emerges from Hell. The brothers and Bobby (Jim Beaver) deal with the aftermath of Lucifer rising and the stunning news from Chuck the Prophet (guest star Rob Benedict) that Castiel (Misha Collins) was blown to bits by the archangels. Robert Singer directed the episode written by Eric Kripke.

Supernatural Season 5 premieres September 10th

Here is your chance to watch the entire series premiere of Showtime’s newest original show NURSE JACKIE (starring Edie Falco, Peter Facinelli and Merritt Wever) right now, online, for free! Thanks to Showtime for letting me be one of the TV Bloggers getting the chance to post this for you!

I watched the screener about a month ago and seriously fell in love with the show. It’s pretty dark humor wise; Nurse Jackie is incredibly ballsy, flawed and interesting not to mention Edie Falco is damn near perfection in the role! Plus, you’ve gotta love any show that starts off with a line like “fucking nun” and calls God a prick – hallelujah you whackadoodle!

If you don’t have Showtime, here’s your chance to sneak a peek at the newest addition to their already stellar lineup and you don’t have to pay a thing. Gotta love that!

NURSE JACKIE premieres Monday, June 8th at 10:30 pm after the premeire of WEEDS!

GLEE Premiere Picture

The show I’ve been waiting for everyone I know to watch finally airs tonight… FOX’s newest musical comedy GLEE! Hands down one of the most uplifting, sassy, funny and touching series out there, Ryan Murphy proves that the misfits can have their moment to shine!

Unless you were bunkered up with Osama, you’ve seen the ads, you’ve watched the video on youtube and you’ve heard every TV Blogger beg you to watch so tonight you better tune in and soak up the glittery genius that is GLEE!

Matthew Morrison, Cory Monteith and Lea Michele are going to be huge, mark my words. Am I biased because I saw Michele on Broadway a number of times in the cramazing SPRING AWAKENING – sure that’s possible… I admit it! The newest band of nerds to root for aren’t living in BuyMoria they’re making their way through the halls of McKinley High, recognize! Artie, Kurt, Mercedes and Tina rock and I hate to admit it but even the bastard people Quinn and Puck are ones to die for.

With supporting talent like Gessalyn Gilsig, Jane Lynch and Jayma Mays plus Guest Stars like Kristin Chenoweth and Victor Garber, I don’t see how this won’t be the best new show of the Fall. Wait, the fall? It premieres tonight! Well that’s true but tonight we’re only getting a sneak peek at the show because the rest of the episodes won’t actually air until Fall 2009.

Download the full audio versions of GLEE’s “Don’t Stop Believin” and “Rehab” from iTunes.

Don’t Stop Believin’:

GLEE Extended Trailer:

I beg of you to watch tonight. Sit back and let the greatness take you over. Don’t fight it… It’s infectious.

GLEE airs its one hour sneak peek tonight at 9pm right after the finale of IDOL.

The password is: lady killer

I cannot wait, dropping everything I had planned to watch this right now!

The CW’s newest show PRIVILEGED premieres tonight but you can see the entire pilot episode right now for free!

I’m very torn about what to do with Privileged because it’s on at a really bad time for me but I’m dying to watch. It’s right up my alley and after watching the pilot’s first 3 minutes I was hooked. I mean how many shows have a little boy saying: “Hey Lady, I can see your vajayjay!”?

Oh and I still have a severe weakness for Michael Cassidy – he’s a stone cold fox and I can’t not watch the boy! Enjoy and let me know what you think. Should I make every effort possible to watch this on a weekly basis? Seriously there are a couple moments in this pilot where he makes me tingle inside. Here’s one of them…

Privileged - Michael Cassidy

Thanks to Seat42F for the tip off.

    Ducky’s Fall TV Preview: Tuesday’s Schedule 2008

Tuesday’s are no Monday and that my friends is a good thing. The new Fall 2008 Tuesday night schedule is more packed in terms of shows I’m interested in watching than it has been in a while. Last season the only thing I really watched on a Tuesday was The Biggest Loser which quickly shot to the top of my must watch list. I was kind of obsessed… just a tad.

This year the night kicks off with Trainer Bob and Crazy Ass Jillian with THE BIGGEST LOSER: FAMILIES and for reals, I cannot wait. I’ve missed doofy Bob and hard as frak Jillian kicking these fatties into shape. Not to mention, I’ve grown to love host Alison Sweeney… she’s kinda great. The show delivers guaranteed tears and let’s be honest… sometimes a good cry needs to be scheduled into your week – why not Tuesday night?

90210 is hands down the most hyped show of the new season but since they didn’t send it to the press or to us TV Bloggers we don’t know if it will be Cloverfield or Howard the Duck. I won’t lie, I’m super intrigued and crazy psyched to see what the reboot will be. I’m not dumb enough to think that it’s going to have the wit and bite that Gossip Girl provides but I hope that it’s not a total cheese-fest. Is there any denying that it’s going to be a huge success right out the gate? No. The biggest challenge for this new crop of West Beverly High kids will be trying to live up to the nostalgia of the original while creating a brand spanking new show of their own that people will care about past the premiere. I can’t promise I’m there past Week 1.

The CBS Psych-like newbie THE MENTALIST had a really fun yet dark pilot that I honestly enjoyed. I’ve never been a huge Simon Baker fan but as the lead observer/one-time fake psychic helping solves crimes from week to week, he’s quite engaging. He has a really dark past that ties into the main arc/big bad of the show but he’s still a man with a sense of humor not to mention kinda hot. As much as I don’t like Robin Tunney past 1997, she’s not nearly as bad and cheesy as she was in Prison Break. Amanda Righetti hasn’t been known for her Emmy winning worthy style of acting but I even enjoyed her here. I make no promises with my commitment to The Mentalist. It’s a good pilot and a fine premise but sometimes procedurals fall to the wayside when I get busy and let’s be honest… it’s up against the 2nd hour of The Biggest Loser and J.J. Abrams new bouncing baby girl Fringe so…

Yeah, FRINGE is pretty much kick ass and I cannot wait to see how this show develops. I did not have the overwhelming sense of being mind frakked after watching the pilot (like I had been with both Alias and Lost) but I’ve watched it a couple times already and I’m not sick of it so that’s a good sign right? I don’t need to go into details of the show because honestly, you’re all just as excited as I am. Anna Torv is a wonderful new find and tough as nails. Joshua Jackson in back in our lives and that’s never a bad thing. There’s a cow and it’s set in Boston… what’s not to love?

Also at 9:00 is The CW’s new series PRIVILEGED but look at the schedule above and know why I can’t watch. Couldn’t they move this to like Sunday night or something? That would work much better for me. CW take note.

Not to mention I’m already watching GREEK Season 2 so…

Finishing out the night is ELI STONE but the more I think about it, I don’t know that I’ll be watching – at least not live. It’s a show that might be pushed to my DVR or iTunes schedule. I’ve got a full night, what do you want from me? Plus I didn’t even mention that I get paid to watch THE JANICE DICKINSON MODELING AGENCY and recap for AfterElton.com so my 10 is full and money trumps Katie Holmes any day.

Gossip Girl Season 2 Pics - Chuck and Blair - Brunch Brawl

Hello Upper East Side stalkers, you’ve been waiting months for those over-privileged over-dressed richies to return and it’s finally here! GOSSIP GIRL Season 2 kicks off tonight and I’m thrilled to report that a hiatus has been good to all and you’re in for quite the treat tonight!

Season 2 kicks off in the Hamptons and it’s obviously been a summer of sun, fun and a lot of nudity. GG is back and dirtier than ever! Get ready for some hardcore Mrs. Robinson action (Madchen Amick never looked better, but really when was the last time cleaning up Leo Johnson’s spittle looked hot?), a new and hopefully improved Lil J, some rekindled friendships and romances, not to mention some of the smartest lines this show’s ever delivered.

Of the three eps I’ve seen, the first two take place in the Hamptons and at the end of episode 2 they’re on their way back to NYC. Ep 3 is still the summer so don’t go thinking we’re getting back to uniforms and knee highs anytime soon. Settle in and let the dog days of summer bark and nibble at your Walmart socked feet.

Obviously I can’t give anything away so I will tell you some of my favorite vague moments so far.

  • Lil J tries to back peddle with someone she’s burned pretty harshly.
  • Dan Humphrey has made the most of his summer away from Serena but may have ruined chances for his future.
  • Serena’s new theme song could be “Bitchin’ Camaro.”
  • Chuck Bass has never been more of a “Basstard” or a “Basshole” than he has this summer and Schwartz and Savage must die daily to have the pleasure of a Chuck/Blair verbal war. But don’t think it will all be snarksville for these two. I will say that they made me almost teary at one point!!!
  • Eric’s still gay but no one’s told his hair.
  • Vanessa’s still around and actually given a storyline or two that doesn’t revolve around Dan Humphrey and pining away for him.
  • Rufus has been touring all summer and getting sexier by the minute.
  • But where is Lily van der Woodsen cum Bass? Could it be that absence makes the heart grow fonder or do we not care anymore?
  • Only time will tell…

Here’s something to ponder: The girl you love to hate returns tonight and I’m not talking about Blair Waldorf, I’m talking about our mysterious insider with all the snarky and traumatizing scoop on our favorite teens. I have to say that in Season 1, I never found Gossip Girl to be that vindictive but 3 episodes into Season 2, she’s kind of a bitch and if we’ve learned anything over the last year it’s that Blair Waldorf is the biggest bitch in town, so lets leave it that way shall we?

Oh, and I think I might be over my Penn Badgley obsession. I think we broke up over the summer… he’ll be fine, I promise you.

xoxo you know you love me!

Don’t forget to tune into the Season 2 premiere of Gossip Girl tonight at 8pm on The CW.

    My Boys Cast Photo

PJ and her boys (oh and Steph) return tonight for Season 2 of TBS’ hit comedy MY BOYS. I watched the first two episodes of Season 2 a couple weeks ago so I could taunt you with knowing the identity of the man that will be accompanying PJ to Italy but I won’t… I’m good like that.

The only thing I’ll say about the Season 2 premeire is that I felt a little let down by the pacing of the episode and I thought that a few comedic beats were wonky. I’m not saying I didn’t enjoy it, I’m just saying that it didn’t feel like a wham-bam premiere episode. Regardless, the boys are hilarious in the first episode and damn do they get in trouble without PJ around.

Watch a quick recap of My Boys Season 1

And here’s a sneak peek at Season 2

Don’t forget, MY BOYS Season 2 premeires tonight at 9:30pm on TBS.

*If you’re a Boston MY BOYS fan, head on over to my girl GMMR and check out the information on her My Boys Hometown Viewing Party on June 19th with My Boys star Jamie Kaler (Mike). Sadly I’ll be out of town so I won’t be able to attend. Boooooo
