Ducky’s Fall TV Preview: Wednesday’s Schedule 2008

Wednesday’s used to be such a great night of television but this year it’s pretty lax. Not that I’m complaining mind you, I could use the break.

Tonight BONES starts with their London adventure and it will take some adjustment not getting right back into the Zac storyline but I’ll survive. I know that the show will eventually explore how the squints move on without Zac and that Eric Milligan is far from gone but I’m going to miss the kid on a week to week basis. I am however very stoked to see that they’re going to be using more Sweets because he’s damn-dorable! We’ll meet Angela’s long talked about husband and some new interns will be cycling through the place. Always good times. Bring on the gang from The Jeffersonian because I’m surprisingly excited for the Bones to return.

Who wants some pie? Sadly we have to wait until October 1st for PUSHING DAISIES to return but that doesn’t mean the first episode isn’t already in my grasp! Stay tuned to ThePieMaker.com for everything Daisies leading up to the big Season 2 premeire.

At 10 I’ll be covering TOP DESIGN 2 for AfterElton.com which is no reason for me to not watch DIRTY SEXY MONEY at the same time. The reason I may not watch DSM is because I kinda don’t care and the show has been off the air so long that it really doesn’t matter to me anymore.

Funny how a year will change my wishy-washy mind. Last fall I was ready to kill a Hilton to watch Dirty Sexy Money and just a short 12 months later I’m considering not even tuning in (though killing a Hilton is still on the top of my list). Surely I can’t be the only one… can I? I love Peter Krause, Donald Sutherland and Jill Clayburg but I’m just being honest and listening to my gut which tells me to bail before I even get sucked back in.

If you live in NYC or Los Angeles and are a die hard TV fan then this is your lucky Fall. You can’t shake a remote without bitchslapping one of your favorite showrunners or stars if you live in these two towns.

    Ducky’s Ever Changing Comic-Con Schedule

For those of you not going to COMIC-CON this year, consider yourselves lucky because if you knew the anxiety and rage the scheduling has caused me and my fellow TV Bloggers, you’d be fine just staying home. There are so many TV panels this year and so many things I want to do that either overlap each other or run too close to ever hope of getting in, so trying to decide what to see is like Sophie’s Choice up in this place.

Here are the panels I’m interested in attending and as you’ll see, it’s nearly impossible to attend half of the things I’m excited about.

*Item’s in BOLD are panels I’m currently planning on seeing but I promise you, it will change before leaving next week.

    1:00-1:30pm Friday the 13th
    4:00-5:00pm Buffy the Musical

Do you see how agonizing it is to try and plan your days? Saturday is seriously OOC and I’m sure many decision will change in the spur of the moment. What you don’t see on here are the parties we’re RSVP’d for and the Press Rooms we’re hoping to do as well. Add press rooms for most shows on Saturday and you’d have to have 3 Buffy Bots to help you cover it all.

Regardless, I’ll be there with many blogger friends and we’ll be podcasting every day and recording as many panels as possible to post here on Ducky Does TV so stay tuned!

We threatened to never do another TV Talk Podcast if you didn’t flock to iTunes and leave us comments… well I’m happy to report that you love us as much as we love you! Thanks to your generosity, we are back and this week’s podcast is a lot of fun!

We revise our thoughts on Swingtown now that we’re both completely caught up (and loving it), we talk about my chat with Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica) and her stint on Burn Notice plus some scoop on her new Fox pilot Inseparable.

Next we tackle one of the most talked about Fall pilots, J.J. Abrams FRINGE! Kath and I will review the plot, the mystery and the hotness that is Josh Jackson but don’t worry we don’t spoil anything for you! We’re good like that!

Then it’s time for some listener emails because you guys are cramazing!

Who wants to talk Comic-Con? No? Tough because we run down the shows that will be in San Diego and vent our frustrations over the scheduling. If you’re going to be in town for Comic-Con and you’re a reader or listener, let us know… we’d love to see you!

Before wrapping up this week we have a little fun with our TV version of F, Marry, Kill! That’s right, we each pick one we’d boink, one we’d marry and one we’d go Dexter Morgan on. join in the fun and leave us some comments about who you’d F, Marry and Kill based on our choices. We’ll read some of them on the air in our next podcast.

Ducky and GMMR Attend Paley 2008

In an hour I’ll be heading to the airport and leaving Los Angeles. It was a crazy amazing week for this TV fan/blogger with Pushing Daisies (and after party, holla), Chuck, Friday Night Lights, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

I’ve posted tons of pictures and podcasts from the week but sadly I don’t think that my Buffy recap will be up before my flight. I promise to get it written on the plane and posted late tonight so please check back. Kath and I were so dead tired that we didn’t have time to podcast but hopefully my way too long recap of the night will shed some light on the event.

    Enjoy your weekend gang!

Pushing Daisies at Paley - Lee Pace and Anna Friel

Hey everyone, it’s been 24 hours since the Pushing Daisies Paley Festival panel took place and we’ve been bat-shit crazy updating ThePieMaker.com with as much information as our brains could possibly muster given the little sleep we’ve had since coming to Los Angeles.

  • We’ve posted a ton of panel quotes and more including some answers to burning Pushing Daisies fan questions not to mention first hand written accounts from TPM readers in attendance.
  • Before Security went all douchy on me, I nabbed a 8 minute video of Bryan Fuller and Co. chatting, check it out!
  • Kath and I posted a bunch of our personal pictures from the panel and post-panel cast signing.
  • Plus, we’ve got a bunch of the official Paley Festival pictures from the panel as well.
  • Monday afternoon we’re heading over to Warner Bros. and meeting up with the Pushing Daisies writing staff and we’ll be sure to post more information tomorrow night (including a new Pushing Daisies Piecast Podcast).

Thanks for checking in all weekend and following our crazy weekend with Pushing Daisies.

    GMMR, Erika, Ducky at Paley

Hey gang, it’s 1am here in Los Angeles and we just got back from the after party with the cast and writers so forgive me if I’m rambling. I quick wanted to write and say how incredible the Pushing Daisies panel was this evening.

The Paley Center put on one hell of a tribute and the crowd was energetic, enthusiastic and more than willing to oblige the cast in any story they wanted to recant. We’ll be posting a bunch over at our Pushing Daisies site ThePieMaker.com but I just wanted to tell everyone how magical the night was.

Great seeing some of our blogging pals there! Also, some readers who came up and said hello. It was great fun!

One of the best moments of my life took place this evening when legend Ellen Greene personally sought me out to thank me for ThePieMaker.com and to thank me for the “Suddenly Seymour” love I posted a while back. To have Ellen Greene wanting to meet me of all people is the most surreal and amazing thing ever. I just wish my partner Jon was there to meet her as well. We sing “Suddenly Seymour” basically every day of our lives. Simply divine.

We’ll post a bunch tomorrow over at ThePieMaker.com so head on over!

    ThePieMaker.com

Kath and I are getting ready right now to head on out to the Pushing Daisies panel at Paley and while I can’t promise I’ll be Twittering, I wanted to at least let you know that you can follow updates of the night through the panel and our other site ThePieMaker.com!

Ducky and GMMR Attend Paley 2008

gang, as you know I’m in LA for the week and I’ll be attending the Paley Festival with my girl GMMR and I’ll also be having a c
