Royal Disclaimer: While I truly enjoyed Royal Pains, please go into it knowing that the first couple minutes are a little choppy, a little too expositional and not at all the true tone of the show. Just sit back and get through the first few and I promise you will fall head over heels for Hank, Evan, Divya, Jill and Mrs. Newberg (she’s a flippin’ hoot)!

Last week I was on the set of USA Networks newest series ROYAL PAINS and I had a blast! I got to hang the cast, the crew, tour the set and walk home with my very own Royal Pains Hampton’s centric beach bag chock full o’ goodies to get me through my summer in The Hamptons PTown.

Set in the exclusive Hamptons, the show follows Mark Feuerstein as he becomes the newest Concierge Doctor for hire in town after some hard luck back in the city. Royal Pains fits right into USA’s already stellar lineup of “character” centric series’ and I can’t wait for everyone to see the premiere on Thursday, June 4th at 10pm.

USA will launch the 75-minute limited commercial premiere of ROYAL PAINS, the network’s newest original scripted series, on Thursday, June 4 at 10/9c immediately following the Season 3 premiere of BURN NOTICE at its new timeslot 9/8c.

ROYAL PAINS stars Mark Feuerstein as Hank Lawson, a young E.R. doctor who, after being wrongly blamed for a patient’s death, moves to the Hamptons and becomes the reluctant “doctor for hire” to the rich and famous. When the attractive administrator of the local hospital asks him to treat the town’s less fortunate, he finds himself walking the line between doing well for himself and doing good for others. The series also stars Paulo Costanzo, Jill Flint and Reshma Shetty.

I didn’t have time to pimp it before, but I’ve been in NYC for the last two days chillin’ with my blogging pal Amrie and my girl Chrissy for the ROYAL PAINS set visit. ROYAL PAINS is USA Networks newest addition to their “Characters Welcome” lineup.

Starring Mark Feuerstein, Paulo Costanzo, Reshma Shetty, Jill Flint, Campbell Scott and Christine Ebersole, the show follows a down on his luck ER Doctor that is thrust into the world of Concierge Medicine for the Hamptons elite.

Feuerstein and Costanzo have this really freaky could actually be brothers thing happening and together, they’re wonderful to watch. Reshma Shetty and Jill Flint are awesome additions to the television landscape and do I really need to talk about Campbell Scott and Christine Ebersole? I didn’t think so…

In true USA fashion, this is not your typical relationship dramedy or medical procedural. There’s a lot of wit, humor, heart and passion behind these characters and it fits well with it lead-in BURN NOTICE! If you’re a fan of PSYCH, MONK or NOTICE make sure to check out the premiere on June 4th at 10pm.
