So I got an email from a Ducky reader named Nic C. who just returned from a quick vacation in Hawaii and she ran into the LOST crew filming an episode.
I’ll put her comments after the jump because it does contain a slight spoiler in that it lists which characters were where filming together and I know some folks will have a hissy if I don’t.

The CW Source caught up with SUPERNATURAL’s renaissance woman, Producer/Writer Sera Gamble to talk about how the strike effects those Winchester’s and some mini and some not so mini spoilers about upcoming episodes.

CW Source: How is the writers’ strike going to affect you guys?
Sera Gamble: We have a couple of episodes that we were really pounding on to finish, and after that, we’re out of material to shoot. That goes not just for us, it goes for every television show.
CW: I was wondering, especially for someone like you who is both a producer and a writer, can you get around the strike by writing as a producer, or does it not work that way? For that matter, is that something you’d even want to do?
SG: No, you can’t get around it, and I can’t speak for anyone but myself, but I don’t necessarily want to get around it. I care about my TV show, I care about my job, I care about honoring contracts that I personally have signed with my studio and the work I have promised to do for my bosses, but now that we’re in strikeland, I hope that we just strike effectively and we come to a speedy resolution. I know that from the point of view of fans who read your blog, they’re thinking, “How can they do it so they can keep making the show that we love?” I hope that you tell them all that we all want to keep making the show that they love, and in order to do that, we have to get through the strike, and we hope that the studios will cooperate and everyone will come to a resolution.
CW: How many episodes do you have written?
SG: I just did a bunch of rewriting on episode 11, and I believe they are close to or at production draft for episode 12. Episode 13, I don’t think it’s going to be finished by the time we have to walk off the job.
CW: What can you tell me about the episodes that have been written?
SG: [Next week] will be the return of Gordon Walker, their old nemesis who’s been in prison …

The November 1st episode of SUPERNATURAL entitled “Bedtime Stories” is going to be grimm at best! The Winchesters will be coming up against non-other than some good old fashioned fairy tales… The Brothers Grimm style.
According to creator Eric Kripke, “The Grimm Brothers fairy tales are coming to life in all their bloody, homicidal, cannibalistic glory. The monsters and ghosts the boys are up against are always based on folklore or modern urban legends, and we realized that the folklore most people know best had never been on the show: fairy tales.”
See, Sammy and Dean end up in Maple Springs to investigate a possible werewolf attack on three chuddy construction workers and soon they realize the connection.
“We need to figure out which fairy tales are about to come true, where they’ll come true and how we will hopefully stop it” explains Jared Padalecki.
As far as did Sam come back as Sam or something else, Jared says to “Keep an eye on him and notice the difference between Season 1 and what he does now, and it might be hinting toward something.”

Supernatural Episode 3.05 “Bedtime Stories”
SAM SUMMONS THE CROSSROAD DEMON TO BARGAIN FOR DEAN’S LIFE — Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) investigate a small town that has been plagued by a number of strange murders that resemble fairy tales, such as Little Red Riding Hood, Snow White and Hansel and Gretel. Meanwhile, Sam summons the Crossroad Demon (guest star Sandra McCoy) and threatens to kill her with the newly rebuilt Colt unless she releases Dean from his deal. Mike Rohl directed the episode written by Cathryn Humphris.

TORCHWOOD is the spin-off series of BBC’s mega-successful DOCTOR WHO franchise and I have to say that I love it!
What’s not to love? The lead is a hunky strapping bisexual alien hunter with snarky comments and great hair named Captain Jack. He has a team of semi-loyal Scoobies who each bring their own specialties to the table just as many of my favorite demon-ass-kicking shows do. Gwen is the newbie and the civilian aspect of the show. Owen is a doctor with a really small head. Tosh is the geeky technology girl and then there’s Ianto who seems to be the cleaner/do-it-all Alfred-esque type but way hot. Not to mention, in a year or so we’ll get to see James Marsters playing with the gang as well!
I’ve seen the first 6 episodes so far and can only say that it gets better as it goes on. I believe that the first two episodes have aired here in the States (The Pilot and Day One) and the third airs this Saturday night. Here’s a quick episode guide with mild spoilers to the 6 episodes I’ve seen so far.
Torchwood Episode: 1.01
The Pilot episode was a little disjointed and very much a pilot. It reintroduced Capt. Jack and introduced his rag-tag team of helpers. It also brought newbie Gwen into the mix. Gwen was a local Cardiff Police Officer who witnessed Torchwood at work and sought the truth behind their tactics. She quickly became one of their team and by episode’s end assumed the role of Jack’s #2.
Torchwood Episode: 1.02
Day One chronicles the first case that Gwen works on as a member of Torchwood and it starts the show off and running as a sexually ambigious sci-fi romp. There’s man on man action, girl on girl action, nudity, you name it. This is not your grandmother’s crime show, that’s for sure. It was a more complete episode in that there was less awkward editing and continuity and it gave you a sense of where the show could go in future episodes.

So I know that we’re all choming at the bit for as much information as possible for the upcoming 3rd season of The CW’s SUPERNATURAL. Without going into the spoilers here are the general plot lines we know are out there…
We know that two women are joining the show, Katie Cassidy and Lauren Cohen (Ruby and Bela respectively).
We also know that 300 big bads were released during May’s Season 2 finale so there are still a ton of demon ass to kick on a weekly basis.
Dean’s deal with the Devil leaves him 1 year left to slay and lay. I hear there’s plenty of both on the horizon!

Last night I sat down and plowed through the first 4 episodes of WEEDS Season 3 (while episode 2 was airing on Showtime). Had to do it, just couldn’t wait any longer and let me tell you, by the end of Episode 4 Jenji Kohan has created the most twisted and complex season yet.
The Premiere picked up right where Season 2 ended, with Nancy and Conrad staring down the barrel of 5 guns from two factions all wanting the MILF weed Silas now has in his trunk. It’s madcap comedy for most of the episode as Nancy tries to hunt down her weed after Celia has Silas arrested and takes off with his car. Did I mention that Nancy has a Armenian and Big Boy Marvin with her to guarantee she returns with the goods intact by 9pm or U-Turn (played by Desperate Housewives’ Page Kennedy – was he the one kicked off for indecent exposure… allegedly?) puts a cap in Conrad’s ass. From Police Station to Celia’s house and finally to her own where she finds Celia (on her not so-high horse) has dumped all of the stash into the swimming pool.
In other news, Shane is still on the lam with Crazy Kat; Uncle Andy and that big huge Alaskan Bounty Hunter are hot on their trail! They’ve made it to a rest stop where Kat meets up with a trucker named Bear who’s offering to take her across the border into Mexico. Responsible as she is, Kat leaves Shane the blue van and 13 dollars that she “liberated from the tampon machine” to fend for himself. It’s crazy as he’s like 12 years old and all but hysterical!

What do the three panels listed above in the subject header have in common? They’re the three panels I got shut out of last Saturday while at Comic-Con. Some of you already know the story but many of you probably do not, so here goes.
Pushing Daisies was having their early bird special screening at 9:15am and you know I love me some Pushing Daisies so I couldn’t miss that. I knew going into it that I would probably have to sacrifice Bionic Woman but it was something I could live with. Daisies was over by 10:30 so that gave me 2 hours to get in line and get into Ballroom 20 for Heroes. Ballroom 20 being our home for the next 7 hours.
We left Pushing Daisies in a haze (the joys of Bryan Fuller and Lee Pace can do that to a guy) and stumbled over to Ballroom 20 to get in line. I kid you not when I tell you that B20 was already packed to capacity and the line to get in wrapped a good 4000+.
Shocked, Rae, Kath, Thomas and I filed into line and sulked. The line was so long and we just knew that everyone in the hall already was either there for Heroes or Joss Whedon so the likelihood of a mass exodus was slim. After about 20 minutes, the line didn’t move and we had to make a drastic decision. Stay in line at numbers 4000, 4001, 4002, and 4003 where we may or may not get in sometime before the place closes or head downstairs to see the Pushing Daisies folks in line and chat with our Warner Bros. folks and then see the other panels of interest that we would have missed by setting up shop in B20 all day.
