Wednesday night’s episode of PROJECT RUNWAY 5 looks banoodles kids. It’s an eco-friendly challenge that sends Tim Gunn into a tizzy, makes him get all gangsta and even call someone’s garment out of the dark ages closet. Take a look:
Plus, this week’s guest judge is a surprise… Here’s a couple hints: she’s an always gorgeous, sometimes bad actress who has starred in some “beautiful” and “professional” films. She went to Harvard and her last name is a stage name. Take a peek and leave your thoughts:
Summer has officially become a television war zone in my house because I totes forgot PROJECT RUNWAY Season 5 was starting this week. I’m feeling over programmed already.

Project Runway Season 5 Premieres Wednesday, July 16th at 9pm
I had to quick post about the news that Project Runway will be heading to Lifetime and leaving Bravo in the cold without even a fierce wrap to keep them warm. The Weinstein Company just signed a 5 year deal with the television for women net but NBC is going to make it hard to work. NBC has filed suit against Bob and Harvey with the New York Supreme Court because of some legal mumbo-jumbo or other.
What’s important in here is that I don’t even know what number Lifetime is on my cable box. I know that Bravo is 79 and that I love me some Bravo. I could watch it all day and IT IS HOME TO PROJECT RUNWAY. Don’t get me wrong, I like change, but I don’t know that moving cable’s highest rated show off its original network is going to do much to boost it’s profile.
It’s Wednesday and I’m busy as a bee with my festival work and laundry, packing, etc. but I wanted to quick say a couple things about recent television.
Last night’s Idol was almost unwatchable in my opinion. I absoloved Carly Smithson’s cover of “Come Together” but really the majority of the others were just “eh”. I still can’t believe what a douche Simon can be sometimes… really, you can’t remember one of the front-runner’s names after how many weeks of this competition? Why don’t we all just call her the Irish Girl from now on.
What about little David Archuleta? That was painful to watch after he forgot the words. I actually fast forwarded through the rest because I couldn’t bear it. Poor thang.
Last night I spent most of my night running around town doing errands but I did manage to squeeze in The Biggest Loser: Couples and it was incredibly anxiety inducing. Having all of the former contestants come back and compete to come back into the competition was stressful. How about Curtis losing 100 pounds? And his wife? Amazing! I was even proud of the Grumpy Old Man. But the real deal was Ali who is half of her former self. She’s unbelievable and obviously intimidating because the rest of her new “team” lost their shit with her coming back into the competition!
What about Jillian losing her mind on Allison Sweeney? Cra-to the-zy! Loved it, she said about 50 expletives in the matter of 4 seconds and I felt the tension in that place. It was a hot mess!
They left us with a cliff hanger; either Brit or Mags are going home next week… supposedly. The preview promises a twist so I’m thinking either both are out or neither. The biggest news is that Project Runway’s Tim Gunn is going to be guesting next week for the makeover episode!
I’ll be on a plane tomorrow night when Make Me a Supermodel airs but head on over to my AfterElton blog to see a preview of tomorrow night’s episode and a sneak peek at a couple pictures from their trip to New Orleans.
Honestly, Amy Poehler as Christian Siriano, Project Runway 4 winner is F-I-E-R-C-E! Bill’s version of Tim Gunn is pretty great as well. Amy Adams as Heidi Klum is a hot tranny mess though! I can’t stop watching this video.

Having always been a huge PROJECT RUNWAY devotee, I had to tune in to last night’s Sneak Peek at TIM GUNN’S GUIDE TO STYLE. Not tonight’s “premiere” mind you, the sneak peek which was a completely different episode (Ep. 2 I believe) but all together stellar. To steal from Tim, it was “in a word… sublime”
This is a makeover show similar to What Not To Wear or How Do I Look so I was a little worried that it would come off as old hat, been there – done that. I’m very happy to report that the seriously vocabulary gifted Tim Gunn and his sidekick Supermodel Veronica Webb put a fresh face on the familiar formula.
Tim has these completely 100% dead serious introduction and segues that could be coming straight out of a MAD TV skit because they are unbelievably proper, priss, and perfectly Tim Gunn. On any other show or with any other personality, these would come across as the most retarded things, but somehow with Tim’s way of speaking, their wonderfully fun.
Also wonderfully fun… VERONICA WEBB! I was a little nervous to see another Model kick it on Bravo with Fashion but I’m overjoyed to say that she is very comfortable up there, very verbose, and very very funny! I have to share some of my favorite Veronica Webb comments.
Veronica (after seeing a barely there cut to the navel cleavage revealer the woman wore to a PTA meeting): “Girl no wonder [all the women] hate you.”
Veronica (commenting on how the woman they’re making over refuses to throw clothes out): “You’d think the curtain was about to come down on Russia the way she’s keeping that stuff!”
Veronica: “Straight up, that’s stripper!”
Not to be outdone, Tim Gunn gets in a couple zingers as well.
Tim: “To be honest, that is not really doing anything for me.”
Tim: “To be honest, this is really working for me!”
Tim: “I have a word, sublime!”
Not to mention he used the term “vulgar” about 75 times. He’s a trip, and with Tim and Veronica up there working off each other, they make one of the best duos on television. It was non-stop witty and bitchy commentary. I was rollin’ through most of it!
To balance it out though, Tim Gunn is such a sincere honest man that you can’t help but trust that he has your best interest in mind when he’s working with you. He’s like a Mother Hen and I’ve always found that to be his finest trait.
Finally, I took a couple other things from this Sneak Peek. Fashion is way serious to some people. Veronica Webb has the best wardrobe on television. And thankfully I figured out where a skirt should hit a shapely woman. Tim Gunn, educating the fashionably stunted one week at a time!
Rumor has it that TIM GUNN’S GUIDE TO STYLE will have a special sneak peek tonight after TOP CHEF at 11pm. Bravo lists the hour block as TBA so who can tell. Just thought I’d throw it out there for all the Project Runway/Tim Gunn fans!
I’m actually excited to watch the show but I won’t watch it every week. It’s a makeover/consulting show and those are fun to watch at random times, not as appointment television. Veronica Webb though, go girl getting yourself a gig! Loved her back in the day.
Officially, TIM GUNN’S GUIDE TO STYLE premieres tomorrow night at 10pm on Bravo.

Tim Gunn has a new job and will be back for Season 4 of Project Runway! It seems that some of the hold up in getting the gray haired gent back was his departure from Parsons School of Design.
Gunn will now be Chief Creative Officer of Liz Claiborne Inc. I don’t know much about Claiborne but is this a step UP for Tim Gunn?
WWTGD? Well apparently when it came down to it, Tim Gunn Would leave Parson’s to keep his moonlighting gig! Attaboy Tim! So excited.
The Will & Grace cameo scenario continues to roll. Last week it was reported that American Idol’s Kat McPhee was guesting on Ugly Betty during February Sweeps.
Now, Tim Gunn is joining her lead and in the same episode. According to Zap2it, Project Runway’s fashion guru Gunn will guest on Ugly Betty during two February Sweeps episodes beginning on February 1st.
