Remember all those shows we totally forgot to talk about during that last few podcasts? Well, it’s about time we got to them don’t you think? Don’t worry though, we’ve added in a few more recent episodes to talk about as well.

First up is the Season 3 finale of MAD MEN. We’re a couple months late but we just couldn’t ignore it any longer. Next is the recent Season 4 finale of DEXTER. Then we’re on to WHITE COLLAR, BETTER OFF TED, SCRUBS and UGLY BETTY.

You begged, you pleaded and you sent hate mail so we decided to spend some time with the hot boys of SUPERNATURAL. That’s right, the cramazing fall finale is discussed in great length and we may or may not have shed a tear or two for the fallen.

Talk about shedding tears, Ducky talks about DOCTOR WHO’s send off for the brilliant David Tennant. (he’s still a little misty over it all)

Then we’re on to cable shows like JERSEY SHORE, REHAB, ONE BIG HAPPY FAMILY and MAN VS FOOD before talking about a possible GLEE burnout.

Sit back, listen to our latest podcast and please help spread the word what we do. Click here to listen to the latest TV Talk Podcast!

I just wanted to quickly remind everyone that tonight is the GREEK season finale (“At World’s End”) over on ABC Family!

It’s been a wonderful season for GREEK and I can’t say I love this show any more than I do right now. I’ve enjoyed watching Casey and Max’s relationship blossom and fade, I’ve enjoyed watching Rusty finally get some, I’ve enjoyed Cal getting some storyline, Beck’s going gay, Evan and Cap rekindling their friendship and Ash getting some hot man action… oh and don’t forget Dale getting (or at least fighting off) some action.

I’ve watched the finale twice already (yes, I adored it that much) and I’m sad that the season is over. There are so many possibilities for next season that my mind grapes might explode if I think about them too much.

Here’s what I can tell you this about what goes down tonight at Cypress Rhodes… Someone goes gay, someone throws their purity pledge ring away, someone gets some hot cougar action, someone’s in a coffin, someone’s missing the biggest party of the world, someone’s busted for pot, someone’s spending seven minutes in heaven (or 2 minutes in a cramped closet), someone’s coming back to CRU, someone’s leaving CRU and someone loves them a muffin top! Curious? I know you are…

Check out a preview of tonight’s GREEK season finale:

And finally, check a clip from tonight’s finale:

GREEK’s season finale airs tonight at 8pm on ABC Family!

ABC announced their Fall 2009 TV Lineup this morning and they’ve got a pretty strong slate for this coming season. While I’m still floored people watch Dancing with the Stars and The Bachelor, I’m even more amazed that Nathan Fillion’s CASTLE made it another season. I’m super excited to see BETTER OFF TED get some more love and can’t wait for newbies like COUGAR TOWN, EASTWICK and FLASH FORWARD! My question is: Where’s the remake of V? Is that pushed to midseason?

8:00 p.m. DANCING WITH THE STARS (two-hours)
*Midseason: THE BACHELOR 8 p.m.
10:00 p.m. CASTLE

Don’t forget that come midseason we’ve got Better Off Ted and Scrubs (yes, Scrubs) returning along with the final season of the always mid-frakkin’ LOST! I’m assuming HAPPY TOWN and V will debut in the winter 2010 but who knows… I cannot wait for the lizard goodness!

My buddy Scooter McGavin has once again come up with a great poll for TV Bloggers to participate in. This time we were tasked with coming up with our Favorite TV Duos (couples, partners, friends, enemies, etc.) from the current 2008/09 season.

After some major Snapple Abacus action, here is the list we came up with.

TV’s Top 25 Duos (2008/09 Season)

1. Coach Eric and Tammy Taylor (Friday Night Lights)
2. Liz Lemon and Jack Donagy (30 Rock)
3. Sheldon Cooper Ph.D. and Penny (The Big Bang Theory)
4. Jim Halpert and Dwight Shrute (The Office)
5. Patty Hewes and Ellen Parsons (Damages)
6. “Bones” and Special Agent Seeley Booth (Bones)
7. Emerson Cod and Olive Snook (Pushing Daisies)
8. Blair Waldolf and Chuck Bass (Gossip Girl)
9. Shawn Spencer and Burton “Gus” Guster (Psych)
10. Chuck Bartowski and Special Agent Sarah Walker (Chuck)
11. Sam and Dean Winchester (Supernat ural)
12. Marc St. James and Amanda Tannen (Ugly Betty)
13. Barney Stinson and Ted Mosbey (How I Met Your Mother)
14. Bill Adama and Laura Roslin (Battlestar Gallactica)
15. Landry Clark and Tyra Colette (Friday Night Lights)
16. Ben Linus and John Locke (Lost)
17. John “J.D.” Dorian M.D. and Dr. Christopher Turk (Scrubs)
18. Sookie Stackhouse and Bill Compton (True Blood)
19. Jeff Patel and Lester Barnes aka Jeffster (Chuck)
20. James “Sawyer” Ford and Juliet Burke (Lost)
21. Homer and Marge Simpson (The Simpsons)
22. Bill Adma and Saul Tigh (Battestar Galactica)
23. Richard Cypher and Kahlan Amnell (Legend of the Seeker)
24. Earl and Randy Hickey (My Name Is Earl)
25. Michael Westen and Fiona Glenanne (Burn Notice)

Voters: Dan, Ducky, Kath, Matt, Sandie, Scooter McGavin, TVFan, Vance

I’ve gotta say that I’m pretty surprised by some of these picks, especially some of the rankings. Homer and Marge? Really folks? Welcome to 1989! How do you choose Barney and Ted as a combo? Sure I love love love me some HIMYM and I wanted to include Barney and someone but really there’s no good pick. He’s awesome with everyone but no single character is better with him than others… that’s just my opinion. Sookie and Bill? Honestly? Legend of the Seeker? Why not pick Xina and her dykey friend Gabriella? Makes no sense to me.

For full disclosure, here’s my Top 10 list:

1. Bill Adama and Laura Roslin (Battlestar Galactica)
2. Coach Taylor and Tami Taylor (Friday Night Lights)
3. James “Sawyer” Ford and Juliet Burke (Lost)
4. Liz Lemon and Jack Donaghy (30 Rock)
5. Michael Westen and Fiona Glenanne (Burn Notice)
6. Booth and Bones (Bones)
7. Patty Hewes and Ellen Parsons (Damages)
8. Sheldon Cooper and Penny (The Big Bang Theory)
9. Emerson Cod and Olive Snook (Pushing Daisies)
10. Casey Cartwright and Frannie Morgan (Greek)

I know what you’re thinking… where the hell are Sam & Dean Winchester?! The truth is that they didn’t even cross my mind. Not once did my boys pop into my head and that makes me sad. I honestly would put them in the Top 5 but I spaced – sorry SPN boys and girls, I’m totally embarrassed. I’m also sad I didn’t include The Doctor and Donna (DOCTOR WHO), Capt. Jack and Ianto (TORCHWOOD) or even Trainer’s Bob and Jillian (THE BIGGEST LOSER). Given a Top 25 I would have included more choices and if I thought about my Top 10 a little better, it would be somewhat different but what can ya do?

How about you guys? Which TV Duos would make your list for the 2008/09 TV Season?

If you’ve watched CBS at all lately, you can’t hide from their newest show and that my friends is good marketing. On April 9th at 10pm, CBS will launch its 13 week murder mystery series HARPER’S ISLAND which will air every Thursday night until the mystery is solved/killer is revealed on July 2nd!

Harper’s Island stars the j’adorable Christopher Gorham (Ugly Betty, Jake 2.0, Popular) as “The Groom”, Katie Cassidy (Supernatural) as “The Bride”, Harry Hamlin as “The Uncle”, Richard Bergi as “The Father of the Bride” and guest stars Jim Beaver (Supernatural) as “The Sheriff.”

It’s a huge cast (more for the killing) and a very ambitious premise so I can’t wait to see how it all plays out.

I’ve been psyched about the show since the day they announced Gorham, Cassidy and Beaver to the cast but really, my horror loving brain wants to see this for the mystery and the gore. I can’t lie. When I watch previews or read about Harper’s, I can’t help think about APRIL FOOLS DAY or HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME and I hope it doesn’t play out in the same manner. I’m not saying I don’t love both of those films (because I do) I’m just saying its too obvious an ending if they go in either direction. None of that matters because I’m super excited to get the slashing started.

Harper’s Island Synopsis:
HARPER’S ISLAND is a 13-episode murder mystery about a group of family and friends who travel to a secluded island for a destination wedding. They’ve come to laugh… to love… and, though they don’t know it… to die. As the wedding festivities begin, friendships are tested and secrets exposed as a murderer claims victims, one by one, transforming the wedding week of fun and celebration into a terrifying struggle for survival. Abby Mills, whose mother was killed on the island by a homicidal maniac’s rampage seven years ago, journeys home for the first time since the horrific event for the wedding of her best friend, Henry Dunn. Henry, the boy next door, is marrying the woman of his dreams, Trish Wellington, a beautiful and wealthy heiress. But as the wedding week begins, people start dying. Every episode, someone is killed. Wedding guests and island locals, every person is a suspect. No one is safe. No one can be trusted. By the end of the 13 episodes, all questions will be answered, the killer will be revealed and only a few will survive.

Let the Suarez family from UGLY BETTY do the talking…

While it’s no Chelsea Handler, it’s still good.

Ducky’s Fall TV Preview: Thursday’s Schedule 2008

Thursday nights used to be the place to be television wise at least. NBC dominated the night for so long that it became common place to plop yourself down and not move for 3 hours. Now I’m lucky to stick with one channel for 10 minutes let alone an hour or two.

SURVIVOR is entering it’s 400th season and I’m still watching. There’s something great about the mindlessness of it all and I find that comforting. Jon and I can sit down and watch while ripping people apart for stupid things and that makes me happy inside. What can you say, I’m shallow deal with it.

At the beginning of the summer I watched all of UGLY BETTY Season 2 so I’m officially caught up but I’m here to tell you that I won’t be watching that on Thursday nights which means at some point I’ll be having marathon viewings once again. I just don’t have the time to dedicate to another show at 8pm on a Thursday so it will be put on the backburner and viewed on my iPhone at a later date. Sorry Marc and Amanda…

9pm gets a little trickier. Jon and I both like to watch THE OFFICE even though we both wish it would end sooner than later. Regardless, most weeks we laugh our asses of still so it’s all good.

30 ROCK is one that I watch by myself and usually not live so the DVR sits on the brilliance for a day or two because at 9:30 I switch over and start from the beginning of the hotness and horror that is SUPERNATURAL!

I cannot wait to see where Supernatural takes us this season what with Dean getting out of hell and all. The anticipation of finding out what Sammy did while Dean was away is almost too rich with possibility. I love an evil Sam Winchester y’all and I have a feeling he’s had to be real badass since Dean’s been dancing with the Devil.

I’m leaving the 10 o’clock hour free because most Thursday’s we don’t start watching the shows until about an hour late and if I tried to watch something else that night, my head would explode Scanners style.

Gone are the days when I waited anxiously for Grey’s Anatomy to rock my world so you know… don’t have to worry about that anymore! I’m free!

Emmy Statue Small

We’re still two months away from the actual EMMY Awards, but with all of the short-list action being revealed, I had to do a quick Emmy post about where all of our favorite shows stand in the race for Gold. Thanks to Tom O’Neil at GoldDerby for keeping all of us on top of this crazy Emmy process.

Kristin Chenoweth (hey girl, love me some Pushing Daisies) and my main man Neil Patrick Harris will reveal the nominees on July 17th.

Here’s how the categories are shaping up for the pre-Emmy short-list. From these nominees below, the final groups will be determined – but know this… someone or something below will win!

It’s Wednesday and work is killing me right now but I had to link to some news and comment because there are some major developments out there this morning.

Lindsay Lohan will be in the Season 2 finale of Ugly Betty and guest on at least 5 episodes next season. While some peeps are up in arms about the scandal prone celebutante making an appearance, I’m actually excited for it. If she can drive while cracked out, imagine what she can pull off semi-sober and confined to a soundstage. I’m somehow rooting for you Lindsay, don’t disappoint or make me the fool. I will cut your mainbrakeline! Check out the pictures of LiLo in action as a Mean Girl to poor little Betty Suarez.

With Smallville fans reeling from the departure of their Lex, they’ll be happy to get a spoiler pic or two from our friend, TheTVAddict.

“Para bailar la cylon…” Esai Morales is Bill Adama’s Daddy! Battlestar Galactica’s spin-off series CAPRICA continues to add cast members and I’m frakkin’ excited. Not only is a Deadwood girl (Paula Malcolmson – though I wish it was my girl Molly Parker who will be swinging this summer) on board but fun fact… Esai and Edward James Olmos starred together in American Family so it’s all relative.

Remember that thing called the Writers Strike? Well guess what? We’re on the verge of another round of picket lines, this time much more attractive. The Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and that pesky AMPTP have ended contract negotiations and June 30th is just around the corner. Ugh, for reals…

TV Talk with GMMR and Ducky is back! After 7 weeks, we were finally able to see each other and dish all the dirt on our favorite shows.

Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, House, Gossip Girl, American Idol, The Office, Grey’s Anatomy, Lost, Supernatural, Battlestar Galactica, Brothers & Sisters, So You Think You Can Dance, Ugly Betty, Greek and so much more.

We take some last minute listener questions on which finale’s we’re most looking forward to and also which hot summer movies our fave TV stars are popping up in. Not to mention Kath gets to wax The Office finale after one Canadian listener begs for finale information.

Also, be on the lookout for the return of TWO IDIOTS TALK LOST! We watch the show but we’re not experts, sue us.

Hey gang, real quick before I get back to festival work I thought that I would share that similar to GMMR’s Project Buffy I’ve embarked on my own TV show I’ve always wanted to watch marathon. Instead of plowing through 7 seasons of Buffy, my first task as to take on a show I always wished I watched and always knew I would love while on my daily commutes!

Cast of Ugly Betty (Season 1)
    UGLY BETTY!

Just this week I finished watching Season 1 of Ugly Betty while riding the subway. I can watch an episode and some change a day just on my subway rides to and from work so it’s perfect time to catch up on some seriously ignored showage on my part.

Ugly Betty was a pilot I really liked back in the summer of 2006. The first episode was hysterical but I was worried about that thin line between campy and cheesy and I knew that with one false move, Betty could become VIP or worse, something hideously cheesy like MTV’s Undressed.

I’m over the moon to report that not only did the first season surprise me in how funny, touching and down right gay it was but in how well the cast works together as an ensemble. America Ferrera is simply divine as the always awkward and always reliable Betty Suarez but she’s nothing without this incredible cast of characters she gets to play off. Marc and Amanda are so funny that I want to marry both of them and have a cult somewhere in Texas where we breed thousands of little Justin Suarez’s. That kid slays me and the way they’ve allowed him to be his little fey self is a breath of fresh air. Hilda is the shit! Wilhelmina Slater you’re the devil and I bask in your bitchery! Harrison John Joe Henry takes my breath away, seriously. Nacho Ignacio is a good father, a good core for the family and I hope he gets out of Mexico. Santos… Santos, how I hated you and your narrow mind in the beginning and how I cried for you in the end.

Then there’s the Meade’s. Daniel (Eric Mabius) is a little limited as a character but damn if he and Betty don’t have one hell of a relationship. Bradford is chilly and coniving and ideal for the ruler of their evil empire. The introduction of Alexis is a hoot and I’m blown away that they’ve explored the tranny storyline with no apologies. Finally, Claire Meade, girl… you’re my second favorite drunk mom of the last 5 years (second only to Jessica Walters in Arrested Development).

Now I’m in no way saying that the show is genius or brilliant or anything crazy like that, I’m just saying that I fell in love with it and that overall its frakkin good. There seems to be a conscious effort in making the show over the top camp while still maintaining some normalcy through the relationships and emotions between the characters. Sure there are moments of utter cheese but they’re few and far between and to be honest they’d all be forgiven because of the hilarity and genius of Marc, Amanda and Wilhelmina. There are lines I never thought would be spoken on network television and I have to praise ABC for not trying to censor them. Same for the portrayal of Justin. They’ve done a really honest and sweet representation of a confident gay youth and I applaud the show for not backing down from that hot gay mess.

Now remember, I’ve only made it through Season 1 so if you’re going to comment, please leave out any spoilers for Season 2. Sure I know a couple things but just don’t…

Ducky’s Top 6 (Five wasn’t enough) Ugly Betty Season 1 Episodes:
    Fey’s Sleigh Ride
    Four Thanksgivings and a Funeral
    Swag
    Derailed
    Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell
    Secretaries Day

Ducky’s Favorite Ugly Betty Season 1 Quotes:
Okay, so it’s damn near impossible to pick the best quotes. I mean, just copy down any banter between Marc and Amanda or most of the snarky comments between Marc and Whilly or anything out of Hilda’s mouth when she’s all riled up and you’ve got a list of my favorite quotes. Serious gems in every single episode. Here’s a sampling of some of my faves…

Marc: What?! You can’t pass. I’m not going stag, hag.
Amanda: Guess you’ll just have to buy your own beer, queer.
Marc: You can’t just ditch, bi-
Amanda: (cuts him off) Shut up!

Hilda: (about Valerie) She’s 130 pounds of bitch!
    Valerie: What did you say?
    Hilda: 120?

Henry: I can’t believe Alexis is doing this to Daniel. They’re family! Even Erica Kane forgave her daughter Kendall for sleeping with her fourth husband… “All My Children”. It’s just something I know.

    Wilhemina: Higher. I said higher!
Christina: Any higher and I’ll be giving you a pelvic exam.

Marc: We’ll always have that fake pregnacy scare!
Amanda: Oh, that was a real scare you idiot, it just wasn’t yours!

Christina: (enters Wilhelmina’s office) You rang? Do you want something hemmed?
Wilhelmina: You’re not here to stitch. You’re here to snitch.
Marc: She needs info, bitch. (Wilhelmina glares at him) I thought we were rhyming.

Justin: Come on mom, Don’t Phunk with My Heart!

Wilhelmina: (to Marc) You’ll be my seeing-eye gay.

I could go on but I won’t. The point in posting this was to let you know that I’m making my way through shows I’ve missed out on over the past couple years and the my first selection was superb. I’ve currently started on Ducky’s Subway Screening Series #2 but I’m not telling you what that show is until I’ve finished watching Season 1. Until then…

The WGA Strike continues well into the Day 90s so the television landscape is like no winter we’ve seen before. Kath and I are back to talk about Lost’s return as well as the return of American Idol.
