In case you don’t have Showtime or in case you missed this past Monday’s premiere, here is your chance to watch the Season 5 premiere of WEEDS for free at Ducky Does TV!
While I may not agree with Nancy Botwin’s parenting skills, there’s no denying this show is often hilarious and some of the acting is out of this world. I’ve watched the first 3 episodes already and while it’s a little redundant, there are some big payoffs coming your way! Courtesy of my friends at Showtime, I present to you the WEEDS Season 5 Premiere!

Tonight my summer viewing schedule officially kicks into overdrive. Not only are summer staples So You Think You Can Dance and Big Brother 10 burning up my screen, it’s the premiere of Project Runway 5!
This is the first time all summer that I’m starting to feel overburndened by the amount of television programmed. I love that summer has become yet another bonafide season but I hate that every show I’m interested in seems to be jam packed onto the same nights. I’m not saying I have a solution or that programming on Friday or Saturday nights in the summer would be any better than what we’re presented with but damn, it makes me anxious to think about the number of shows I need to keep track of.
To give you a rundown, here are the shows I’m interested in and their nights. It’s banoodles I tell you, banoodles!
Mondays: The Closer, The Middleman, Weeds, Secret Diary of a Call Girl (though I’m totes behind)
Tuesdays: Wipeout, Big Brother 10
Wednesdays: So You Think You Can Dance, Big Brother 10, Project Runway, Shear Genius
Thursdays: So You Think You Can Dance, Swingtown, Burn Notice, Fear Itself
Fridays: Doctor Who, Psych
Saturdays: Nothing
Sundays: Generation Kill, Mad Men, Design Star, Next Food Network Star
Surely I’m missing some shows and obviously you can tell I’ve already left some in the dust. My Boys and Kathy Griffin, sorry I’ll catch you in a marathon or on DVD, I don’t have the time. In Plain Sight, you just couldn’t hold my attention no matter how hot some of those leads are… sorry! I get brutal with the cuts in the summer and surely more will come. Just give me time, heat makes me a total raving bitch so I’ll leave a show in the dust without hesitation. Fate and Ducky are two fickle bitches!

We’re still two months away from the actual EMMY Awards, but with all of the short-list action being revealed, I had to do a quick Emmy post about where all of our favorite shows stand in the race for Gold. Thanks to Tom O’Neil at GoldDerby for keeping all of us on top of this crazy Emmy process.

While I can’t say there won’t be a ton of WGA Strike posts today, I had to make sure I did my job and brought you some TV News Links.
WEEDS has been renewed for a 4th season over on Showtime. As the season was gearing up I never expected them to be able to pull off a 4th season but damnit, I want more and obviously so does everyone else. Nancy Botwin, you go girl!
Another Showtime news bit… Forest Whitaker is bringing Mr. Untouchable to the screen. It’s a drama series that will tell the true-crime story of Harlem heroin lord Leroy “Nicky” Barnes.
NBC gets last minute Pilot order in for KINGS by Heroes writer Michael Green. King David goes modern… The story will be set in a city that’s the seat of a modern-day kingdom. The central character, like David, will rise to fame after a heroic act: slaying the much bigger and more powerful Goliath. He eventually will take control of the kingdom.

The waifish dirty bathwater zillionaire Mary-Kate Olsen will make her debut on WEEDS very soon. To tide us all over, SHOWTIME has released a video clip and I have to say, why not!
Video of Mary-Kate Olsen on WEEDS

Mary-Kate will be playing the fundamentalist Christian dirty ho Tara Lindman in a 10-episode arc when she makes her debut on September 17th at 10pm.

Last night I sat down and plowed through the first 4 episodes of WEEDS Season 3 (while episode 2 was airing on Showtime). Had to do it, just couldn’t wait any longer and let me tell you, by the end of Episode 4 Jenji Kohan has created the most twisted and complex season yet.
The Premiere picked up right where Season 2 ended, with Nancy and Conrad staring down the barrel of 5 guns from two factions all wanting the MILF weed Silas now has in his trunk. It’s madcap comedy for most of the episode as Nancy tries to hunt down her weed after Celia has Silas arrested and takes off with his car. Did I mention that Nancy has a Armenian and Big Boy Marvin with her to guarantee she returns with the goods intact by 9pm or U-Turn (played by Desperate Housewives’ Page Kennedy – was he the one kicked off for indecent exposure… allegedly?) puts a cap in Conrad’s ass. From Police Station to Celia’s house and finally to her own where she finds Celia (on her not so-high horse) has dumped all of the stash into the swimming pool.
In other news, Shane is still on the lam with Crazy Kat; Uncle Andy and that big huge Alaskan Bounty Hunter are hot on their trail! They’ve made it to a rest stop where Kat meets up with a trucker named Bear who’s offering to take her across the border into Mexico. Responsible as she is, Kat leaves Shane the blue van and 13 dollars that she “liberated from the tampon machine” to fend for himself. It’s crazy as he’s like 12 years old and all but hysterical!
